I am trying to remember a program name that we had in FSX days called something like Follow FS where you could link your iPad with your computer using wifi and the iPad would show your plane on a map and move with your flight. I am now using P3D and am wondering if we could use this program with it, but I cant seem to find the program. I can't remember if it was a freeware or a payware. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Thanks

I was wondering if anyone might know of a way to tune a nav frequency in FSX/P3D without dialing it. Sort of like there is a way to tune a COM using the atc menu.... Thanks,

My speculation on upgrading is and was upgrade often and frequently. What I had to learn is that there are limitations that will SNAFU updating. Finance is usually the biggee especially with hardware. What about getting ramped up to do a software upgrade? Usually you can't do one of those from a dead stop. This is where I found I need to get 'psyched' for any upgrade and that happens after all the limitations (blocks) are lifted. Finally there needs to be a motivation like 'I don't want to be left behind' or promises of better performance or your existing system is junk. So for me going to P3D 4.5 is not a biggy. Besides I may be losing my uber kewl gaming …

Reading an article this AM about all the tricks and hoops Boeing pulled off bringing the 1965 BOEING 737 up to date through the years while trying to keep the cockpit commonality so as to keep training cost low. Seems many of the new Max procedures are the same steps pilots followed 52 years ago. Many systems on the Max date back to the original 737.Placing bigger engines on the 737 has caused engineering challenges due to there close proximity to the ground. Problems not present with fuselage mounted engines. The answer here would be to raise the gear struts but one of the draws of the 737 was low baggage doors that can be easley accessed without expensive conveyers or e…

Just a quick heads up for those into classic jets. Just Flight's Pro version of their VC10, with working Delco Carousel IV, is now on sale. If you bought their previous VC10, you can get this one as an upgrade for 15 quid. It's got a lot of stuff simulated in it, so if you like realism, this one will certainly float your boat.

Hello, Has anyone tried that new program called "Pilots Life?" I seen it on here and it looks interesting, but I see no reviews. Would like to hear from some people that have it to see if it is worth the time and money for it. Thanks, Andrew

So my cousin sent me a Youtube vid of crazy people climbing towers to dizzying heights bare-handed and otherwise acting crazy, and I went to Youtube to send her back something crazier, if I could. Instead, I found this. 😲 Strangely enough, the climbing vids left me neutral, but this curled my toes, perhaps because I could more easily imagine myself inadvertently in a situation like this, whereas I would never climb one of those towers, buildings, bridges, etc.

Hello guys, I need some information about realworld fms function. Especially about procedures for Fly-by. Anyone can explain to me how the turn-parameters of an fly-by waypoint are calculated? Is it right that the type of a waypoint (fly-over/fly-by) is implemented in the AIRAC? If so: Are there also radii published which the fms needs to take care of? How the fms calculate the start of an fly-by turn? Hopefully you understand my question, if not, let me know 😉 Thank you for your advice

Hi, I review the GNS 480 in a video.....Quick summary -- Not a real simulation of the GNS 480 😞 Not looking for any kind of refund or any sympathy -- just putting something out there so others know about it and can chose for themselves

It doesn't matter which sim I am using, P3D or FSX or which scenery I am flying over, default or Orbx, I always seem to get patches of black water over lakes, seacoasts, and even black creeks. They're are not severe but they are annoying. Is there something I can do with my settings to eliminate them? Noel

http://www.cnn.com/travel/article/british-airways-shortest-flight-scli-gbr-intl/ I flew a scheduled airline flight, from Oakland to SFO, on a Swearingen Metroliner back in the 80's, and I flew between Burlington VT and Plattsburgh NY once. Shortest jet commercial flight I ever flew on was an American 767 between Zurich and Geneva, followed by many flights between SFO and Reno back in the 80's. I also flew short commercial hops in Michigan outbound from O'Hare to Pellston once in '94--lol I was home in Napa CA earlier that morning on my day off, I picked up the phone when it rang thinking I could never be called into work being a business systems traveler. I was w…

A few months ago I started attending some classes and after a while struck up some new friendships. Eventually we get around to asking our new acquaintances what they do for a living. One of my new friends casually say's "I'm a pilot". Now since I am a pilot myself I ask the question that probably most non aviation enthusiast would not ask; "What do you fly?" to which he relies "737". After exhanging a couple of flying stories he extended me and a couple of other fellow enthusiast an invitation for a tour of one of the 737-800 he fly's when its in maintenance hanger. Well having a busy schedule with work and family it been a couple of months since the invitation…

I'm puzzling over the weight and balance for the MD-11. Now, specifically it's for the FSX:SE Sky Simulations MD-11, but I was wondering if I can get some real world values, hence my posting this in Hangar Chat. If the post is deemed to be in the wrong area, my apologies. All I can seem to find is the respective volumes of the cargo areas and the number of pallets they can contain, but not actual weight limits. The maximum overall payload weight is almost 200000 pounds. However, what amount of that 200k can the upper deck take? Or the lower decks? Or how should that 200k be split between the areas, assuming C of G is within limits of course! Taken to extremes, could …

Hi guys, been out of using FSX for a couple years now. I do have the Steam edition installed along with all my various addons, just haven't been using it. The system is about 4.5 years old and it's about time for a new build. I was thinking maybe it's time to move to a new sim that still supports at least my Orbx stuff. I'm not sure what is the best route to go though. Keep using FSX:SE, Prepar3d, or X-Plane? If I went with something besides FSX:SE is it safe to assume Intel is still the king for performance on flight sims or is AMD doing well on the newer sims as well? I had planned to go Intel again just looking for some general direction there. If AMD is doing …
