Hangar Chat
This forum is for the discussion of things you might discuss when going into an airport hangar. Please make sure that your topic isn't covered in another forum before posting here. Please refrain from controversial topics...politics, religion, conspiracy theories, climate change, COVID etc. Topics that elicit or are deemed by staff likely to elicit heated argument, contention, or otherwise objectionable banter will be removed from view. As per the title, the beta is out for this and is currently 20 quid on Steam. Good fun if you like all that Das Boot/Silent Hunter WW2 U-Boat stuff. Some pics:

While I understand the privacy issues that make a lot of people nervous signing their names to the end of their posts it is awkward to answer to XDY741. Too impersonal. I'm a friendly guy. At the checkout line in the super market I always note the name tag of the checker and address them by name. "Laura, that's a nice name," always gets a smile and a little bit of a conversation. And the next time I go Laura remembers me. You don't have to use your surname if you are concerned about privacy. But it would be nice if when I reply I could address you as Robert or George or Sue. Not a big thing. But to my way of thinking a nice thing. Noel

We don't do politics here on AVSIM, but we do have opinions and some of us, if not most of us appreciate accuracy when selecting the planes in our virtual hangars. I have noticed that some Lufthansa A320 liveries have been uploaded to the library - the ones which have "Say Yes to Europe" emblazoned down the fuselage. A political request as it were. I voted against that. So I'm just expressing my slight displeasure in seeing liveries with a political statement in the AVSIM library. I say "slight" due to the following reasons:- I haven't got an A320 as yet and yes, I do NOT have to download or use the liveries in question. It was up to Lufthansa to appl…

My daughter came back from a recent holiday and gave me this totally random present. A modern reproduction of an old tinplate toy At least it gives our Royal Navy something to play with until our new carriers get the real thing 😄. Even if the toy is more beautiful than the lift-fan-hovering abomination. (other opinions are available). It was a nice, quirky, aviation-themed surprise. There's enough oomph in the mechanism to get the planes into a 90 degree bank - these early aviators were hardcore! Oh the irony that on the box there is a warning that this is not a toy and for adult collectors only! Well, before the internet, and even before TV, thes…

Just saw, all three boosters landed safely, two at Cape Canaveral on land and the third on SpaceX's drone ship. Amazing success of private technology on our way to the first manned US mission possibly later this year.... John

Hello everyone, I've been asking around on VATSIM about what people would think of an (unofficial) 123.45 frequency. Would anyone be interested if I set up a 123.45 discord server for general pilot conversation? Discord is a completely free voice chat service used predominantly by gamers. However, I think it would work fine for this cause. Click on the link below to join. William Discord server join link: https://discord.gg/vng2eym

I noticed AVSIM is not listed anywhere as an exhibitor, sponsor or media partner list for the 2019 Flight Sim Expo. How come? It looks to be a pretty big event and surprised that AVSIM is not listed.

Yup, You read the Title Correct, We have made a new discord server that will allow members of ALL divisions to connect, share and support each other. We realize that there is a discord themed around support for IVAO. There may be subchannels for support, but there isn't a Discord like this, Themed around support and bringing the whole IVAO community together. This isn't like any random discord, It's completely themed around flying on IVAO. (bearing in mind that it is an UNOFFICIAL discord.). At least give it a go, We just want to help and bring the community together. Here is the link- https://discord.gg/FAHPrRc

http://aerowinx.com/board/index.php?topic=5248.0 Well deserved, this Materpiece created and maintained by Hardy Heinlin! Kudos to HH ! Long Lives Aerowinx PSX! As a "persistent" Aerowinx user, since PS1 in 1997, I can only feel proud to see so many true 744 drivers using it for their RL training and preparation for checkrides, as well as aviation academies like Embry-Riddle ...

Although I have never flown on a 777, my ex boss did between ORD and Delhi and back, even traveling over Russia inbound to Delhi. Hopefully the 777X won't have the teething pains of the the latest 737 or the 787 when it was launched. It is good airlines are focusing on the interior and also the pressurization to make long hauls more manageable for the passengers. It would be great if the extra width could be translated to individual armrests for economy passengers, making meals easier to handle in flight since elbowing of other passengers is uncool in flight. My worst flight was when an overweight passenger was seated next to me and was an armrest hog, finally I had t…

Was browsing the Just Flight website this evening and found that they have a Fokker F28 in development for FSX and P3D. All four variants (Mk.1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000) are in the pipeline and even better news is that this is being developed by Just Flight’s in-house team which should mean that it will be a high quality product. The recent ‘Pro’ update of the VC-10 shows what the in-house team are capable of achieving and I’m sure this will also be evident in the F28 when it appears. https://www.justflight.com/product/fokker-f28-fellowship Curiously the Caravelle has disappeared off Just Flight’s ‘In Development’ page having been present there for some time, bu…

Happy Friday all, I've been posting videos for Freeware, and Tutorials on X-Plane for a while here in the Avsim forum. Unfortunately I have been warned by Tonywob, and asked to stop posting this informational content. I have never tried to sell anything in these videos nor have I profited in anyway from them in the passed several months since I started. My videos are mostly light entertainment informing X-Plane users on freeware, and tutorials. I am sorry you do not like my content. All the best. Kindest Regards, Tinmouse.
