Hi all Maybe someone here can point me into the right direction. I am looking for someone who is a lot cleverer than me to change an existing livery to show my own call sign This is in MSFS and once it is the Fenix A320 British Airways to show G-BUTE as well as the PMDG 737-800 in British Airways and Ryanair both to show again G-BUTE Does anyone know where I could go with this . Do we have something I could check within AVSIM or somewhere else. Thx for your help in advance Ian

A man walked into a small Irish pub and ordered three beers. The bartender was surprised, but he served that man three beers. One hour later the man ordered three beers again. The very next day that man ordered three beers again and drank quietly at a table. This repeated several times and shortly after the people of the town were whispering about the man who was ordering three beers at once. A couple of weeks later, the bartender decided to clear this up and inquired: "I do not want to pry, but could you explain, why do you order three beers all the time?” The man replied: "It seems strange, isn‘t it? You see, my two brothers live abroad at the moment, one in Franc…

I turned 80 a couple of days ago and I just learned that the Armed Forces think I'm too old to track down terrorists. You can't be older than 42 to join the military. They've got the whole thing word not allowed-backwards. Instead of sending 18-year olds off to fight, they ought to take us old guys. You shouldn't be able to join a military unit until you're at least 55. For starters, researchers say 18-year-olds think about sex every 10 seconds. Old guys only think about sex a couple of times a month, leaving us more than 280,000 additional seconds per day to concentrate on the enemy. …

What is meant by the expression 'Quality of Life' in the context of improvements to software? I've heard the expression when talking about terminally ill people for example, or the benefits of working from home rather than the office, but the examples of 'QOL' quoted in the marketing blurbs don't seem to be anything more than minor tweaks. Am I missing something? Why don't I notice the quality of my live improve when I go to version 1.03b?

Well, it was going to be, but unfortunately the absurd weather has frozen the underground pipe from this property's well, so I had to go buy 4 gallons of water yesterday. I had left both the hot and cold water taps in the bathroom and the kitchen slow dripping, but apparently the landlady didn't leave their taps slow dripping before leaving for Ohio. I checked their outdoor faucets and found them frozen solid as well. <sigh> While at the Walmart Marketplace nearest where I now live, I learned that a very likeable 16-year-old Irishman who had always been so helpful and polite passed away suddenly several weeks ago. Everyone at the store loved Mae and were devast…

Hello all I like to hand fly all of my approaches in the Fenix A320, including manual speed. I have a question regarding the point at which the A/THR is disconnected. Given that at this point, the throttle is in the 'CL' detent, when I press the A/THR is disconnect, the engines immediately spool up to the equivalent 'CL' position. Hence, I have to rapidly move the throttles back to the point where they are holding the approach speed under my control to prevent the a/s increasing. In Boeings, the throttles are servo controlled, hence, although they don't physically move in the sim, PMDG has the option to place a small marker on the 737 N1 gauges to show wher…

Some of us are erstwhile model railroaders. I was one myself. If you have 18 minutes to spare this is for you. An 'O' Gauge Lionel layout that took 21 days to build. Most of it is time-lapse pictures of it's construction. But there is a lot of running time video here too. Enjoy! Noel

Duluth, in addition to being the birthplace of world music icon Bob Dylan, is a major port on the western coast of Lake Superior where massive cargo arrives to load, mainly pellets, coal and iron. This port is also the most inland in the world given that, thanks to the fluvial systems connecting the North American and Canadian lakes, it is connected to the Atlantic Ocean with a distance of about 3700 km. In winter, polar temperatures are far from rare, causing large areas of Lake Superior to freeze, with the interruption, generally between January and early March, of navigation. This video shows the spectacular arrival of the -30C (-22F) American Century, a…

Good Morning All, This is my all time favorite time of the year and it's a great time for warmth in the heart during this cold time of the year. This holiday usually builds great cheer and awesome memories, which brings me to a holiday flying story I would like to share. There I was, coming off of the Christmas holiday looking forward to the New Year break. I would never take Christmas off because I knew that flying would be scarce and if I took a flight prior to Christmas, I would be safely off the schedule. I would instead take the New Years week off. I had planned on driving home to Atlanta Ga from New Jersey to spend time with family. I took a flight just pr…

We simmers have many aps that automatically put our flight plans into the GPS in MSFS2020. Can real pilots do this as well? Can they transfer a flightplan from Foreflight to there GPS in plane or must they always manually input it?

This one of the 30 or more little stories I wrote for my grandkids. I wanted to tell them what it was like when I grew up on the streets of San Francisco. I've published them here before, a few years ago. I call this one "The Christmas that Almost Wasn't" It was the first day of Christmas vacation. We were sitting at the kitchen table where Mom was addressing the last of the Christmas Cards while Lee and I pasted Christmas Seals on the backs of the envelopes. The family opened a Christmas Club account at the bank in January, and we had been putting a dollar a week into it. The account had fifty dollars in it. This money would be spent on gifts, a …

Well, not quite new. I've been working on it for a while. I'm spotting 40 different general aviation aircraft at the end of the runway at 40 different airports in California. I consider the wheel and float versions of an aircraft as different aircraft. And I save each one in a scenario with an icon on the desktop for each one. In addition to spotting them at different airports I also modify their panels...standardize them so to speak. For instance the 'Z' key brings up the GPS. The 'C' key brings up the radio stack. The 'V' key brings up the overhead or switch panel. The 'B' key brings up the autopilot. And so on. I've already got different 26 aircr…

Magic Words As a crowded airliner is about to take off, the peace is shattered by a 5-year-old boy who picks that moment to throw a wild temper tantrum. No matter what his frustrated, embarrassed mother does to try to calm him down, the boy continues to scream furiously and kick the seats around him. Suddenly, from the rear of the plane, an elderly man in the uniform of an Air Force General is seen slowly walking forward up the aisle. Stopping the flustered mother with an upraised hand, the white-haired, courtly, soft-spoken General leans down and, motioning toward his chest, whispers something into …

Im trying to find a list of all the RNP (AR) approaches in the US but Im having a hard time tracking down anything. I found a spreadsheet that has a list of a lot of international RNP (AR) approaches, but nothing for the US. Does anyone know of such a list or know the best way of tracking them down? They're a lot of fun to fly and the new AAU update for the G5000 makes good use of them. Thanks! '

I always kept my seatbelt fastened when travelling commercial. And, of course, never unbuckled when flying GA aircraft. https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/18/us/hawaiian-airlines-injuries-turbulence/index.html I was flying on a Frontier CV580 from Denver to Pueblo Colorado once and the entire flight was heavy turbulence. They bypassed the scheduled stop in Colorado Springs. The stew was handing out barf bags. When she came to me I told her I was having fun. You pay 25 cents a minute to do this in an amusement park.
