Sunday morning, November 20th, 2022 I made my very first A380 sighting while taxing at CYYZ (I only fly 2 or 3 times a year predominantly in the US). It was an Emirates parked at the gates. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a picture since I was in an aisle seat. Still pretty darn exciting. Now, for fun, reply to the thread and describe your first A380 sighting (real life of course). I look forward to reading these from all over the world.

...then you may enjoy these episodes of "Air Ambulance" from G.B. I've binge watched these first six episodes and am highly impressed with the level of trauma care. Every helicopter has three personnel onboard, a pilot, a college trained paramedic, and a highly qualified doctor. Their mission is to bring an emergency room level of care to their patients. I only wish we had this level of expertise on our "for profit" air ambulances here in the U.S., particularly back during my paramedic days! Caution: These are not scripted recreations but are filmed live. If you are squeamish, you might wish to turn your head when open fractures are shown.

I spend at least two to four hours a day on my computer simming or other business and this fifteen-year-old desk chair I'm on is getting hard on my 225-pound arthritic body. My knees hurt. I told my wife I want a nice quality desk chair since I spend so much time on it. So, my question: Do you have a desk / gaming chair you just love enough to recommend? Comfortable but not slouchy, good back support but not cruelly hard, especially on the load bearing section? I have the usual flood of pop adds you get after researching something, but I would appreciate some real person recommendations.

An Airbus 380 is on its way across the Atlantic. It flies consistently at 800 km/h at 30,000 feet, when suddenly a Eurofighter with a Tempo Mach 2 appears. The pilot of the fighter jet slows down, flies alongside the Airbus and greets the pilot of the passenger plane by radio: "Airbus, boring flight isn’t it? Now have a look here!" He rolls his jet on its back, accelerates, breaks through the sound barrier, rises rapidly to a dizzying height, and then swoops down almost to sea level in a breathtaking dive. He loops back next to the Airbus and asks: "Well, how was that?" The Airbus pilot answers: "Very impressive, but watch this!" The jet pilot watches …

To all my fellow Marines out there happy birthday! Today is the 246th birthday of the United States Marine Corps. It was born in Tun Tavern in Philadelphia where the very first Marines were recruited. Today on every Marine Corps post and station and ship there will be a birthday cake and the oldest and youngest Marine serving at that station will hold the sword and cut the cake. Tonight there will a ball where Marines in their dress blues will bring their ladies to celebrate and dance. The first Marines were sharpshooters who stood up in the rigging and fired down on the crews of enemy ships. And in the melee the Marines who were fighting on the decks wo…

The armistice that ended World War I was signed on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. As a boy I remember it as Armistice Day. Since there were so many wars after WWI the named was changed to Veteran's Day. In Canada I believe it's called Remembrance Day. Whatever it's called a Canadian friend who lives in Edmonton sent me this a number of years ago. And I have posted it every Veteran's Day since. It's called A Pittance of Time by Terry Kelly. For me it's pretty moving. Noel

So, due to the energy crisis my provider charges 0.84 cents per kWh electricity nowadays here in the Netherlands I have a 1000 Watt power supply for an 5800X3D with RTX3090 ..... Does that mean a 2 hour flight will cost me nearly 2 euro's in real money? If so, I'll be using the simulation speed x2 or x4 more often i think.
