V1 and Randazzo|| PMDG's Past Present and Future in MSFS

sf_flyer just wanted to flex with his r/w aircraft ownership.
A comparison between pricing models of addon aircraft for a sim with cessna fuel caps is obviously unnecessary.

Why not compare pricing models of Fenix vs. PMDG or Justflight vs. PMDG?

  • Then of course the obvious counter argument to your point.  Why is PMDG themselves making the 747-100/200/300/400?   I'm not going to pretend the newest airplanes do not sell in the largest numbe

  • While I'm happy that Boris made an amazing soundpack I don't think this should be the norm. It's a near $78 product with average, near borderline mediocre, sounds, we should keep pushing PMDG to do be

  • I've had a PMDG 737 since FS9 and will always have it no matter what version. It remains the gold standard.

I know you guys keep complaining about pricing? LOL  Let me break down some cost involving ownership of a small airplane:

Lets start with some very inexpensive items:

Cessna deluxe towbar $269.00

https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/pspages/deluxe_towbars.php?clickkey=12627754

Fuel cap $183.00

https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/cessnaparts8.php?clickkey=231621

Now, let say we want GTN750 NXI $19095.00. This is of course without installation

https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/avpages/ngar750.php?clickkey=6625130

I don't know about you ,but I would be happy to pay $100+ to have a something that resembles real aircraft. 🙂

Not sure I follow?

I don't feel any better about what tires cost me at the track because they are free in the sim...  I do like having access to unlimited sets though.  At least airplane tires last more than an hour 😂  Not to mention $12-$15/gallon when you are only getting 3 MPG LOL...

We actually joke in motor racing the fastest way to become a millionaire is to start with a billion...

It isn't.

Depends on if the aircraft are taking full advantage of the systems. The Fenix for example handles wonderfully, as do the A350 and A340

I really don’t get these arguments because these aren’t real planes, this is a game on a desktop computer where we pretend to fly. What bearing does the cost of a real plane have here?

Im not buying plane addons because I think I’m getting a bargain compared to real life, they’re entirely different experiences, ridiculous comparison.

When you don’t have access to real life experiences that is all you have left to simulate in virtual world. If you don’t understand it now you will understand it later.

Hopefully later then because I definitely don't understand the point you are trying to make now LOL 🤔

I mean this seems a little belittling to probably the vast majority of users on the forum who probably don't "have access to" or "choose" not to fly in real life.

My point is simple we expect simulation as real we can get for a one time fee and think this is expensive . I think back in early days  of flight simming people were just happy to have something . Nowadays technology offers so much! I understand this is normal human nature to want more and pay less. I just gave a glimpse of simple stuff  in real world that shouldn’t cost that much but unfortunately they do .

When it comes to PMDG prices obviously customers have choice to vote with their wallet . I personally think PMDG doesn’t charge high enough given circumstances of economy in US

It is an addon for a game that cannot be attributed to real world training, what are you on about lol? You want PMDG to price out their majority customer base? Sounds like an excellent business model

I don’t think I’ll understand later as this statement has made me even more confused.

When I buy a car in a racing game for £5 bucks I don’t think, “wow this is so cheap compared to real life! Why isn’t it more expensive?!”

I really hope you don’t…. Right?

Rolling my eyes so hard that I’m having trouble seeing what I’m typing

It wouldn't be Avsim without one developer = complaining/bashing for 6 pages.

To keep things hopeful: Hopefully PMDG keeps their 2024 upgrade fee minimal. I love there 737 series and have loved their 777 since release as well.

They are a business, pure and simple. So is JF, BlackSquare, Fenix, IniBuilds, SimWorks, FlightSimWare, FlightFX and....gasp....Carenado!

It would be really nice to have the 2024 compatible -800 available for some flying over the Christmas holidays.  Fingers crossed!

It's always been a favourite that ticks my boxes, a 'classic' aircraft updated with some modern avionics. Like you say, fingers crossed.

Yes a game, but how do you know it cannot be use as training aid? We should ask about this those who fly here 737 for a living
