Henrik Nielsen's Global AI Ship Traffic for MSFS
To be fair, didn't pay much attention what makes me seeing ships in MSFS2024, just thought those were from GAIST. I can only report that I see some when approaching airports on shore but good to know that these could be from in-sim too!

Fenix: Update 2.4.0.4720 released
Looking forward to their panel state saving feature even more. Haven't bought the Fenix Busses yet, still waiting for that feature to be implemented as it's mandatory for my type of airliner OPS simulation. When they've eventually released it, I'll just get the whole A320 family despite only having a real need for the A320-200 variant, just because PMDG sales youtuber A330 Driver once said in some comment, that he thinks Fenix is doing wrong from a revenue perspective by giving free updates. I think the Fenix guys are doing it just right and this creates a way higher revenue long term.

Things that annoy you about addon airports
wrong font for runway and taxiway signs is the most annoying one as it's relatively easy to do it right, just pick the right font: https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/finally-icao-font-for-taxiway-signs.20253/ little or no ground equipment makes an airport feel dead no ability to disable static aircraft or having them "on" by default and navigating to some obscure folder to rename static.bgl to static.bak default ground equipment wrong runway markings wonky runway centerlines repetitive textures (buildings, RWYs, TWYs, apron) missing runway slope if there's one at the real airport blurry signs wrong font for ground decals default jetways wrong approach and RWY lighting (missing rabbits, wrong type of lgt type, missing touchdown zone lights)

Simple ground services addon? (not GSX)
Is this the case on your side? Toolbar Pushback performs automated, pre-planned pushbacks without any issues in ms FS24.

How many here are using VATSIM? Thoughts?
Fair hint, was going to point out to IVAO too. I've been an IVAO member for my first online flying years but switched to VATSIM about 10 years ago. What keeps me on VATSIM and not wanting to go back to IVAO is the fact that it feels like too many people are online on IVAO not to have contact to other humans, but rather just collect hours and badges and sht. You don't get such things on VATSIM. On IVAO, I've seen people being online constantly and trying to get as many awards and badges as they possibly can. Have seen pilots with 1000s of hours but were unable to fly a simple heading, maintain an altitude and ruining everyone elses experience. Among ATCs, "world tour" pilots were feared and infamous because the majority of them were lacking those very basic skills. When in the process of finding a new world tour by the WT department of IVAO, everyone hoped that no airport in your FIR got selected. Even had ATC colleagues logging off prior a bunch of WT pilots entering your sector. Some find that entertaining but it's just not my type of online flying and not my type of experience I want to get, therefore, VATSIM fits perfectly to my needs.

Planning flights with a maximum of possible ATC coverage is fairly easy in europe as almost all FIRs use the VATSIM booking system. You can find booked ATC sessions here: https://vatsim-radar.com/events or here: https://vatsim-radar.com/bookings or here: https://statsim.net/atc/?tables=true&tables=true Unfortunately, UK ATC doesn't use the official booking system but their own calendar over here: https://cts.vatsim.uk/bookings/calendar.php The lack of ATC bookings outside of Europe (I only see a few US east coast airports and rarely TNCM, VHHH, South Korea and Japan) on the booked ATC sessions) is the only reason why I don't fly long range and/or short range in other parts of the world outside of Europe. It just misses the point of flying online on VATSIM when there's a high risk of ending up alone on 122.8 upon arrival. Would love to take A350s, and 757s around the world but I have absolutely 0 intention to buy an addon aircraft too big for smaller european airports as there's just no motivation to plan a LR flight, take the 10-12hr journey just to be completely alone at destination.

Free Airports
"Free" in terms of "no additional cost to the original sim": many of the handcrafted World Update airports are good freeware quality. Just install them and keep the ones you like.

Aircraft addons expected in 2026 - please add
Most likely not before 2027.

Who else fully moved over to MSFS2024 this week?
Meanwhile, I've noticed this bug at a few more airports too (29 Palms EDDB, MSFS WU EDJA and EDVK). Couldn't find a bug report in the MSFS forums yet so I decided to open a new topic. Vote here to get attention to this bug: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/blurry-taxiway-and-runway-signs/757029

Snow Coverage
I've noticed in Central Europe, snow is much more realistic. In MSFS2020, you've had basically a 100km blob which only knew "1m snow coverage" or "no snow" resulting in snow covered valleys and in the next part, you've had no snow at all even on 3000m high peaks. In MSFS2024, it's a much finer grid and also somehow shows mountain tops covered in snow, while valleys are blank. Haven't proved it with evidence, but snow coverage feels pretty accurate.

VATSIM-RADAR wants your feedback
Also comes in super handy when you're in another room, doing the laundry, cleaning your car or are afk for any other reason. Vatsim-Radar works perfectly fine on mobile too and helps to get back in time when you're about to cross someone's route at the same level or when you're about to enter controlled airspace.

VATSIM-RADAR wants your feedback
Check out the link via vatsim-radar.com or over here to participate and give feedback for the development of this already great tool: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScdVUZZ9YNb61KSVivruv6nZWjFALN1D0qVySdED3SokuG-5A/viewform I've suggested the following features to Daniluk: Push notification when ATC comes online at an airport of a defined set of airports. Like, I've got 50 payware airports and I'd love to get a notification in Firefox whenever an ATC responsible for one of those airports comes online. Like for LOWW: whenever LOWW_APP, LOVV_CTR, LOVV_N_CTR comes online but not LOVV_B_CTR as it's not covering LOWW. Simpler version: to user define every ATC station individually, like when I have to type in all the individual stations I want to get a notification of. I'd consider trying to gather all VATSIM booking platforms at the same place. The current vatsim-radar booking only shows the ones that are on statsim too. Would be a huge benefit to not have to look like at cts.vatsim.uk/bookings/calendar.php, statsim, and some individual FIRs or ARTCCs separately. A centralised ATC booking platform is what VATSIM is missing and VATSIM radar could help in that regard I think. I really love this guy's work. A proper map was the only thing VATSIM was behind IVAO for years but vatsim radar is such a great tool I couldn't live without anymore.

MK Studios LIRF V2 released
Most runways show the wrong approach lighting type and the glass at Terminal 3 (?) looks really bad/blue at night but otherwise a 10/10 airport. Top notch ground work, Terminal modelling, runway and apron textures. Taxiway pavement is not just a blunt texture area but perfectly aligned with edges and lines.

How many FS-related apps do you have open during a session?
Happy that I've found the other single person on earth using excel for this. Feels like everyone is using fancy apps that partially come at extra cost or terminate service at some point. Excel is just superior for this. You can customise and visualise everything you want with it. Feel like there's some statistics missing? Just create them on your own.
-
How many FS-related apps do you have open during a session?
On second screen: - Firefox for vatsim-radar and planner.flightsimulator.com and inflight entertainment - KatiePilot Audio Normaliser to prevent turning deaf on VATSIM (but minimised) - vPilot - Excel as logbook, fleet management, GANTT flight overview, custom OFP layout, etc. (mostly at the beginning and end of a flight)

MSFS 2024 - ESKS Scandinavian Mountains
As bobcat said: "Just remember what has happened next time they want to sell something to you." I'll definitely will as Marcus Nybergs airports are not only visually and FPS wise top notch addons but he's always quick with his responses to bug reports and provides fixes asap. Great guy.

MSFS 2024 - ESKS Scandinavian Mountains
I think if many point out this issue, a patch is more likely to happen.

MSFS 2024 - ESKS Scandinavian Mountains
I can confirm this is also how it looks like in my sim with scenery version V1.0.2 and I've made a bug report on the ORBX forums about this issue.

Longtime Simmer but First Time PMDG Buyer
Well... it appears that there's a significant number of people feeling scammed or lied to by PMDG/Randazzo and such a feeling about something or someone never comes out of the blue. PMDG pulls off stunts like deliberately or inadvertently making everyone expect a price tag of something around 5-10 USD when it's supposed to be 30 USD in the end. Or a long time ago (I don't recall if it was from FSX to P3D or from one P3D version to the next one), when PMDG said their 777 for the newer sim will come at the exact same price as the 777 for the older sim. Then they've outdanked everyone by increasing the price for the older sim by 10 USD and then selling the 777 for the newer sim for "the same price" as it is for the older one 😅😅😅 So yeah, RSR didn't lie about it being the same price, but tell me - does that shed a good light on him and his firm? And why isn't a single simmer bitching about Justflight or Fenix? Do they treat customers differently, maybe?

PMDG 737 MSFS2024 "Mini-Review" after my first 17 flights
Thanks @Tuskin38, and no, it's not AI written. Just my very personal view on the PMDG 737 for MSFS2024. @Christopher Low you're right that going really slow like just 5kt or slightly faster reduces the scrubbing sound. Guess I can't take 15kt turns anymore lol @ahsmatt7 thanks a lot for your R/W insights on that topic.

Azrsim LFPG & EHAM coming
I won't judge before LFPG is out, but I'd be highly surprised if Azrsim's LFPG scenery was better than the handcrafted Asobo version that came with one of the World Updates for free.

PMDG 737 MSFS2024 "Mini-Review" after my first 17 flights
Just wanted to share my first impressions of the PMDG 737-800 after 19 flights in 12 days as I believe some are waiting for reviews of people who've spent money on this update and not getting it for free from PMDG in exchange for a positive review. TL;DR: right plane for my needs in good quality but PMDG as a company frustrates me even more than prior to my purchase. Context: I've been a PMDG customer since FS2004 days and I've had the 747 in FS9 and P3D and the 737 in FS9, FSX, P3D and MSFS2020. Also flew the Level-D 767 in FS9 and the Majestic Dash 8 in P3D and some freeware planes, mostly for a low budget start to check out new sims. For each sim, I fly only just one or two differen aircraft models in order to really master the aircraft I fly and to save money. Why is the PMDG 737-800 for MSFS2024 the first payware aircraft I've spent money on, even though PMDG is undoubtedly the worst company in terms of customer treatment and communication strategy I've ever known to exist in both the FS- and real world. I still prefer PFPX over simBrief for countless reasons, which allows me to export flightplans in .pln or .rte format and uplink it via the PMDG FMC. Fenix doesn't allow a flightplan uplink in the sim using those formats. You're forced to use simBrief, or doomed to entering every waypoint manually and I hate being nudged to something. Panel state saving and reloading. This is an essential feature for my type of flying and the Fenix Airbuses just don't have it. If those two features were available in the Fenix A320, I wouldn't have spent a single moment considering buying the PMDG 737, as in every other aspect, the Fenix Buses seem to be far superior to the PMDG Boeings. Now, what do I like and what do I dislike in the PMDG 737? Note, I compare many aspects with the freeware FBW A320 as this was the only other plane I flew in both MSFS2020 and 2024 aside of the 737. Good: Cockpit texturing (no, I do not care about non high res texturing under the MCP) Cockpit sounds in general CPDLC and Hoppie integration for use with VATSIM is nice (and the only "notable" upgrade compared to the FS20 version) Customer Support is top class. I've had a couple bug reports and inquiries and I've received all replies with short notice (and this around the christmas/new year days!) Flight dynamics (as far as I can tell sitting at home in front of a PC without and hydraulics to move my chair). Bad: Feeling scammed by PMDG every time I load that plane. RSR stated this is a "nEw bUiLd fRoM grOunD uP", but you have the exact same bugs in the FS24 version as were in FS20 too. Obvious lie then. Nothing new from PMDG. No, I don't wanna beat the dead horse here again about this "cup of coffee" farce as it was my very personal decision to buy the PMDG 737 for MSFS2024 and no one else is to blame here. 2 specific sounds: the super annoying one that sounds like a snow plow on asphalt when you make the slightest nose gear turn on ground and the highly unrealistic touchdown sound that every mainstream media aviation wannabe-documentation has, when the wheels touch down, but it's never heard in a real 737 from the cockpit. Unfortunately, in FSX or P3D, we were able to disable specific annoying sounds by just editing them with goldwave to a volume of 0 and you were good. They've removed the direct keyboard input feature for the FMC. In every PMDG edition I had, you were able to click on the FMC, then type whatever you want directly in your physical keyboard. They have removed this feature and I still can't think of any reason why it would be a good choice to remove it?! I mean, offensive initials not allowed?! Weird wobbling/oscillating of the plane around all axis on some flights. While having set turbulence to REALISTIC, I haven't had a single issue with it using the FBW A320 on 100+ flights in MSFS2024 but PMDG asks customers to dumb down turbulence effects to LOW. Tried this and flew into Vagar EKVG this morning with winds at 34031G47KT and it was like flying in CAVOK with low winds. Changed back to REALISTIC, 'cause I don't wanna land right in a North Atlantic storm and it doesn't even feel like the slightest challenge. Some reported switching YAW DAMPER to OFF resolves the yawing. Still need to test on my side to either confirm or oppose this statement. The EFB still has the same high latency as it had back in MSFS2020 (new built from ground up BS again). Every time you click something in the T/O or landing PERF section, you need to wait a second to respond or for context menus to close. Why do the freeware guys over at FBW manage to provide an EFB with 0 input lag and a seasoned flightsim company can't? No innovation. When I first flew the freeware FBW A320 in MSFS2020, I was blown away by what was possible in the sim. You could attach an external thermal printer and print out every ACARS message, PDC or METAR you've received in the sim. Or what about transferring the ingame EFB to a physical external tablet? Again, you were able to do so with the freeware A320.What a shame PMDG can't keep up with part-time hobby/freeware developers in that regard. Panel state saving feature is not saving COM1 and COM2. I've already reported this bug years ago (can't remember if it was in FS20 or even back in the P3D days) but the "new build from ground up" doesn't seem so new after all. Conclusion: I've paid 30USD to have an airliner in MSFS2024 that comes with a panel state saving function and the ability to use PFPX with it. If those two things are not what you need in MSFS2024, don't buy the PMDG 737. Even 5 USD would be too much for it, in my opinion. Every other payware aircraft dev manages to implement new features for the price of 0,00. PMDG wants you to pay 30 USD for a version that has one major feature added (CPDLC integration), but one key feature removed (FMC keyboard input). I'm really looking forward to the upcoming release of Justflight's F70/F100 and Bluebird's 757. Fingers crossed, the 757 will be the gem it promises to be to not rely on PMDGs 747 for future long haul flying.

PMDG 737 2024 - Wobble?
Forget about Chaseplane, as I'm experiencing the exact same oscillation as in the video and I do not have Chaseplane, so this can not be the root cause of this issue.
