C152 improvement mod V2 - Wow!...

Featured Replies

So much happening at the moment, but just to say the V2 of this great C152 improvement mod has just come out.
Apparently a joint project by WBSim and JPLogistics.  There is so much to this.  Take a look yourself - all for free!

I love this plane already, so I will fly this a lot alongside the WBSim C172.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Interesting. So we don't need to have the original Asobo model installed? (edit - it would appear not! Good news)

Just to add, and for those that might have missed it, I am hoping this pad will still work with it - another great little mod for those who want to keep the steam gauges.
If you remove the pad, bring it back by clicking on the base / mount.  I can't test it until I get home.  If it isn't compatible, hopefully the wizard of an author can update it.

Note that with some older repaints, it might show a white screen.  WBSim / JPL recommend deleting any old C152 repaints out of the community folder anyway, as that is one cause of a white screen.

I do.  It is used in some of the missions / tutorials.  This C152 mod is a separate aircraft alongside the default to keep compatibility with the sim.
Originally it replaced the default, causing the tutorials etc. to crash, so this is the better solution.

If you really don't want the original, maybe you could delete it, but for the small size the C152 takes up, I would keep it around just in case.  You never know, other things in the sim or other mods might need to tap into the original gauges etc.

Note this mod has custom instruments like the KAP140, which is supposed to be that good / accurate, that other people look to include it in their models.

Oh I deleted it ages ago. I'll probably keep this one though, I'm liking it so far.

Has it still got an autopilot? I remember the first version had one ... was a bit strange.
But I liked it.

Has the option to add it, yes.

I've asked the dev if he can integrate the TDS GTNs... possibly the 650xi would be a more realistic addition?  Though I have seen a real 1652 with 750 lol!

I'm trying hard to make a quick swap mod though.   They are doing some extra coding stuff so I have to force the Lvar in Dev mode to get the TDS to show...  I'll have to think on that one - or hopefully the dev can just integrate the TDS the correct way

Could be wrong but I'm quite sure that it's what the PMS50 uses in their package for the 310R it looks the same to me anyway.

The JPL C152 mod transforms the already-decent 152, so I'm looking forward to trying out V2.0. What with this and today's Flying Iron Spitfire update, I have a busy flight-simming weekend ahead of me 😃

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

I don't know what EXACTLY was done to this 152, but I really love the plane now.  I enjoyed it before, but OMG, this plane is such a real joy to fly for the purpose I bought MSFS in the first place...VFR FLYING!  I really enjoyed flying around Penn State University (KUNV) today.  My Daughters graduated from there, and my Granddaughter is there now.  Wonderful topography there and the 152 really is in its element.

This is perfect for my recent flying around Buenos Aires, Argentina.  I'm going to download the La Plata photogrammetry first, install that, and then the JPL C152 v2, and it should be wonderful.  I need to upgrade though, the PG drags down the ol' warhorse (8700K).

Now if we could just get that OTHER Lycoming O-235-powered plane released (JustFlight Tomahawk...) we'd really be doing well!

I'm actually really enjoying this plane... the flight model seems excellent... I can actually perform a crosswind landing... some models can't do it very well.  I've got my mod semi working for the TDS ...rnav approaches to lpv mins with working AP on APR mode lol!

It would be difficult to sell a payware C152 after this.  It is superb.

If you say so, I really have to give it a try!

Even the default C152 somehow feels to me like the best default single prop GA in MFS.
