I'm familiar with the both Garmin 430/530. Problem: When I press MENU button on the 430 a small window appears on the GPS window displaying at the top "PAGE MENU"; below that are the following: Setup Map?, Measure Dist?, Data Fields ON?, Change Fields?, Restore Defaults? No matter which of those buttons is depressed nothing happens. The other Garmin (530) so far is working properly in the A2A Cherokee 180. Any thoughts on this? Thanking you in advance. Patrick

Is the G1000 compatible with FSX-SE? After installing ths MS G1000 then launching FSX-SE there is a popup about a 'problem with 3rd party software' referencing HyperGauge.dll and asking if I want run this software. Yes and the sim crashes. Previous to this (on a prior install) I was getting a MPI error referencing iSimConnect.dll. (sorry the detais of that are vague now as the 1st error alway happens now). I apologize if this has been addressed in other threads. I tried a search and browsing the topic titles, but didn't come up with anything. I also understand if this is a gauge/model issue and can't be fixed. I have the freeware Douglas C-47 v2 and Basler BT-67 from Manfred Jahn (available from Sim-Outhouse.com and I think also from here). Both versions use Basler's modernized cockpit that includes an updated 6-pack, new engine indicating gauges, and a GNS530 over GNS430 stack. The stack is fully modeled in the VC and when I installed the GPS in place of the originals, the click spots appear to work fine, but the screen itself doesn't display anything but black.…

I just purchased and installed the G1000 in MS FSX. I installed as Admin in Windows 7 x64 and completed the registration (it shows registration is good). All of the Mindstar G1000 aircraft are loading with the displays blacked out.

Hi, I have setup a single widescreen 24 inch monitor with a resolution of 1900x1200. It seems the best size to get both the PDF and MFD on the screen at the same time and it is large enough to product readable text using the default 182. However the G1000 2D Panel's aspect ratio in the default 182 at this wide resolution is incorrect and the panel is "squished" - I have found posts on Avsim talking about widescreen displays in FSX but they don't seem to have an effect http://forum.avsim.net/topic/258868-fsx-in-widescreen/ You can roughly get the aspect ratio correct by manually adjusting the panel - see video for example: https://www.dropbox.com/s/c59j…

G'day Mindstar Last night I purchased and installed Mindstar G1000 for FSX. It installed correctly and no issues found after installation. Unfortunately, this morning my FSX texture folder got corrupt for some reason. As a result, I have to uninstall FSX. However, prior to the FSX re-installation, I unregistered my Mindstar G1000 on current computer and was successful. Now I have re-installed my FSX, but this time when I try to register G1000 again. I get the attached error message. Please advise how to fix this? "The server issues activation code, but they didn't work on your computer. Hi Ed, I'm looking for a code snippet (preferably C# but I can manage [pun intended] to read other languages) that shows how to use a couple of simconnect functions when I have defined a hex event code in the .ini file. I've scoured Google yesterday looking for an example of how to use a hex number versus the usual predefined enums (e.g., KEY_GPS_POWER_BUTTON) but couldn't find anything. For example, if I have defined this in the following in the .ini file: GPS1_COM_FREQ_TOGGLE=0x11000 how would I setup and call the simconnect functions of: TransmitClientEvent() MapClientEventToSimEvent() Thanks for the help, Dirk

Hi, I purchased MindStar G1000 last week and have it installed on my fresh FSX Acceleration on a 64 bits Win 8.1 system. When launching FSX, I agree to execute the "hypegauge.dll". I then go to Edwards AFB (KEDW) with the Cessna C172SP Skyhawk G1000 Mindstart (did not do anything in the panel.cfg) and agree to execute the MPI_G1000.GAU. I then activate the MFD by pushing the rightmost nobe and reset the MSG alert about the Pitot heat. On the PFD, I choose "Direct-to" and with the FMS cursor I enter BORON and press ENT. I was using x-plane with SimAvio until SimAvio announced no further updates or support. It was either use an outdated G1000 software program with no updates or an outdated flight sim. Not really happy with either choice. As Steam seemed to be breathing new life into FSX-SE, I decided to make the change. I am running Win 8.1 8 gig nVidia 760 w 3 gig I loaded FSX - SE I loaded the latest Mindstar G1000 I installed Mindstar G1000 and have been having multiple problems from start up error boxes to finally having dead PDF & MFD. While running the Garmin 530 I noticed the transponder's interrogator light (orange) flashing, but no transponder code appears; just blank black squares, no numerals. The 430 does not have this problem nor does the default GPS. MS FSX is run in administrator mode, transponder knobs turned, not change. Any thoughts? sage

I've read what I can on both the Mindstar website and here. The installation of the 530/430 into the Mindstar 172 works on my FSX. However when I used FSPanel to install two 430s into a Carenado Mooney I got blank screens. Then, as a test, I installed a 430 with FSPanel into the MS unpainted 172 and still got nothing. I suspect I've missed something simple and I'd appreciate some hints as to what to look for. Ok, while I was writing this, I fixed the 172. I figured out the window number and entered the fifth parameter. Now, I have to figure out what window number MAIN_PANEL_ALT1 is for my Mooney. I'll post this so you guys can get a chuckle. Now that I have the Garmin 430/530 up and running (thanks to you) in the A2A Cherokee, I would like to know if your GPSs support RealNavData? Need current approach plates to practice IFR approaches. Problems with Mindstar's GPS 430/530, displays and controls for the A2A Cherokee 180. Problems Display: Frequencies and words overlap each other vertically and horizontally on the GPS screen. Controls: a) The small right knob does not work to change the Page within each of the four Groups. Pushing the center knob does activate the cursor, but unable to enter a destination airport after pressing , whether using either the small knob or keyboard. b). I'm having some difficulties with loading saved flight plans using the GNS530. Once I've set up all my waypoints, I can use Menu -> Copy Flight Plan to copy it to the next available number. However I can't seem to load the flight plan, after highlighting a saved flight plan using the cursor and using MENU -> activate flight plan option. Nor can I view a saved flight plan by just clicking the ENT button after highlighting it with the cursor; it just sits there loading. Is this expected behaviour or should loading of flight plans be possible? If so, are they saved somewhere in a folder so I know whether they are saving properly?

Hi everyone i recently bought p3d v2.5 and minstar gns 430/530 the problem is that the aircraft doesn't follow the route which I entered. as well as i want to fly a direct to. dtk value shows the heading to the waypoint. and trk value shows actually 000° and the aircraft fly hdg 000. shouldn't the aircraft follow the desired track DTK?? what did i do wrong? can u help me. p3d v2.5 and A2A C182 as well as the Carenado King Air B200. best regards Rico

Hello Mindstar Support Team. Sorry to bother you, but I have a problem to register the GNS 430/530 product. In my case I receive the following error: "The Windows Registry points to Prepar3D V1 and Prepar V2 in the same folder. This installation cannot continue until this is corrected". I know, a similar problem was reported by "ORBXFAN" for the G1000 Product, Unfortunately there is no description how the problem got fixed for him, so I hope you can help me... Hello, i'm having several problems with the Garmin GNS 430-530. First, i couldn't create user waypoints. So i've sent a mail to support, asking if it was an error, or if that function isn't implemented (though there's a section about user waypoints in the guide to the GNS.INI. So i would think, it's implemented). That was yesterday. And i didn't receive an answer til now. Since then, i tried to reinstall the program to see, if that would help. Though i unregistered and got a message that it was successful, i received an error message when i tried to uninstall. I recently installed the latest iteration of the G-1000 panel, after having uninstalled the previous version. I now get messages on FSX startup about multiple items of some sort having the same names. When I click each message sequentially, then FSX starts apparently normally. The messages reappear after selecting a Mindstar G-1000 equipped airplane. Again, clicking each iteration of the message appears to clear the way for normal operation. Is there something wrong with the installation? On another topic, I would like to create some user waypoints. The only way I can find to do this is by using the MFD cursor. Hi, is there a Mindstar specific handbook for the G1000? I am aware of the official GARMIN version, however the Mindstar edition works differently or seems to be missing a few features: - I would like to change the fuel unit from GAL to liters, but can't access that data on the AUX page - Change fields in the FPL window, so as to show cumulative waypoint ETE/ETA Are those options not available or am I just missing the right clicks? Hello, I intend to use the Mindstar G1000 as preparation for my Instrument Rating, so my expectations to realism are quite high. One thing I noticed today after purchasing and installing the RealNavData Update is that the airspaces still have the same layout as in FSX Default (using the Baron B58 profile). In the RealNav FAQ it states however: Can you confirm this is a Bug/Feature/can't be changed, or have I made a mistake loading the current NavData? Waypoints and procedures do indeed seem to be all there and up to date. Best Regards

I had to do a total wipe of Windows. I have reinstalled everything, and re-activated the 430 and 530 gauges. I have configured the A2A aircraft from there config program to enable the gauges. When I try to load the aircraft I get the following box pop up. MPI Gauge failed to load simconnect interface DLL: c:\programfiles(x86)\mindstar\flight simulator addons\ isimconnect.dll error code 14001 I am using the FSX steam version and everything was running fine before the format, no antivirus running. fsuipc is not installed Help please Anthony

I am not sure I have a problem with this unit that I purchased today and installed in the A2A Cessna 172 in P3D. Everything works so far except when I take a trip from one airport to another, as I am approaching the destination airport, and I look at the page that has the airport frequencies that were there in the departure airport, they are still listed as well as the departure airport name . I watched a video on the 430 by Garmin on Youtube, and the instructor said that once you leave the departure and start for the destination airport, the frequencies are supposed to up date to show the destination Airport name and the ATIS, Tower, Approach, etc. but this never happ…
