I have had a windows fail so i have sent you an email saying that I need instructions for installing again, after a format of computer. Just put a reminder here for you to email me as I can't be without the gauges after I'm up and running again :-) The minor problems I was getting with the gauges I think was due to the MS Windows in general, causing loads of problems with FSX and other programs, so doing a format Tuesday. I really enjoy the Mindstar GNS and it's been a great addition to P3D. I'm using v2.5 and have added the Mindstar 430 x 2 to the default P3D Alabeo Beech A36. Both GNS work in VS and both GNS work in popup on the 2D panel using Shift-1 and both units work as advertised, but shift-1 is the only way of opening the 2D panel. In the VC the cursor changes to the hand shape when hovering over the panel, but left/right click has no action. I would like to have the option to click on the VC screen to open the 2D panel, but it's not working. Can anyone assist? I must be doing something wrong here. I have tried to get to the nearest airport page, I followed the manual and it does not seems to show a list of airports, just one. In the manual it shows a list that you could scroll down through to pick one. Is this because I am using the fsx database, and not the addon one Occasionally the 530 locks up, with no control over it, with this as well would it be a bad install. Anthony

Hi I wonder if someone could answer a couple of questions before I buy the 430/530. I have contacted Mindstar a couple of times but I don't like keep bothering them with short questions, so I thought I would ask here. My system is intel core duo 3.33mhz windows 8.1 ati 5850 GPU 1gb memory 8gb system memory Steam version of FSX ( which was updated on the 23rd April) ======================================================== Can flight plans be created within the units and then saved for later use then loaded in again. Hey guys, Could someone do me a favour and test to see whether the Mindstar GNS 530 works at CBX5 - load an aircraft onto that runway and try and select a new waypoint. When I try and add a new waypoint, it crashes to desktop as soon as I input a letter. Does anybody else experience this behaviour?

Hi Ed, This is my first post, and I must start it with a big THANKS for making your fine "gauge" even better with REALNAV/WAAS. I also must ask for assistance (forgive the redundancy if this has been answered, as I haven't found it). Please direct me to the correct section in the 530W Series Pilot's Guide & Reference where BRG is covered. I find TRK, but not BRG. Again, apologies if I need an eyewear (or brain) update. Jim

Hi there I am having trouble getting my GNS to work after not having it installed for a while. I am using current version 1.08.0005 and P3D V2.3. On startup I get the error message MPI Gauge failed to load Sim Connect interface.dll Error code 14001. After I click okay, P3D starts and the gauge displays but will not turn on. I would appreciate any help with this please as I have tried everything I can think of. I did notice that in the Mindstar folder there is no sim connect dll for V2.3 only V1.4 - V2.2 not sure if that's a clue or not? Regards Glenn.

Hi Guys, I have my eye on the Mindstar 430/530. I used to use Reality XP in FSX and they were awesome bud sadly they have not entered the Prepar3D frey ...Yet...and I wonder if they ever will. I only have Prepar3D on my system so was looking at the Mindtsars avionics with interest. I am not a great lover of "Pop ups" as the only way to see it so was wondering how easy it is to retro fit into my aircraft to replace the stock units.... Basically...Carenado and Alabeo offerings. Hello everyone, So, I have purchased the Mind Star GNS 430/530 yesterday. Now, two questions. 1. Does it not have an Installation tool? I was using RXP before and it has a installation tool you can use to add the 2D popup to any aircraft (It is up to you if you want to add it to the VC); with Mindstar I cannot find anything similar. 2. What is it that you have to do in order to do the custom installation? I have tried to do it with the Carenado PA34 Seneca II, the Carenado King Air B200 an the A2A C172, C182, PA28 Cherokee. Hello, I thought I would point out two differences I found between the Mindstar and the real G1000. They might seem small but I run into them quite frequently. Point 1 is that on the real G1000 I use, it's possibly to load a STAR and then edit the flight plan to remove some of the waypoints you have just loaded by highlighting the waypoint with the cursor and pressing the CLR followed by the ENT button for each one you want to delete. This is useful if ATC asks you to fly "the balance" of a STAR after a certain waypoint. For instance, flying from Abbotsford to Victoria, I often get asked to fly the balance of the APASS4 arrival from YYJ. I therefore like to load it o…

Perhaps I've somehow recently introduced a bug or otherwise just never realised, but it appears that when I have the flight plan page open on the GNS530, it just about halves my FPS from 50 down to about 25. Can someone else please test out for me if you also get lower FPS whilst on the flight plan page? Thank you.

Hello, I just purchased and setup the GNS 430/530 with data from realnav and I just wanted to make sure I am not experiencing issues with my installation. On the NAV section map screen (second screen from the left), the CLR button does not work. I should be able to toggle different map layers by pressing the CLR button. For example roads, different airspace, etc... It should get progressively less detailed with each press until it cycles around and shows everything again. Right now when i press the CLR button nothing happens and as such i cannot see the boundaries of any airspace other than class B. The CRSR button does not work. I should be able to press…

Hi I have been trying to practice some RNAV (GNSS) approaches at North Shore Airfield New Zealand and i have come across something weird. When i load in the GPS approach for runway 03 i don't get an option to use MABDA, i only get VECTORS, SF and AGRAX. If i load the MABDA waypoint in directly it gives me a weird DTK which takes me south of the airfield miles away from where it is. Now if i load the GPS approach for runway 21 it gives me the correct track to MABDA for the missed approach and if i load in the GPS approach for runway 03 and use the AGRAX Trans it gives me the correct location of where the MABDA waypoint should be. Hi. I'm having a problem with the GNS 530 running in P3D alongside Plan-G. This is a combination that has worked fine for me in the past, but whenever I try to connect Plan-G with the Mindstar GPS active I reliably get a P3D hang and need to force kill it. In the exact same flight, without the Mindstar GPS, everything is fine. This is on Windows 8.1, with P3D 2.4. Good day, I'm using P3D 2.4 / FSUIPC and flying the Carenado B58. I bought the GNS 530/430 ( without Real nav data) to use it as a pop up on a second screen. I'm having few problems: On the screen, the digits are too big and not aligned. The moving map on the G530 is not fluid at all. I can not select the course when I press direct to, I don't have any crosstrack distance information on the G530, just the bar. When doing Rnav, GPS doesnt give turn messages all the time. I was using the Mindstar GNS 430/530 in P3D 2.4 and FSX but with P3D 2.5 I had to do a complete reinstall of the simulator. I try to just run the newest installer but due to the GNS being in FSX already it only asks for a repair etc. I guess I'm going to have to uninstall the GNS completely from the system and start over again. Do I need to send Mindstar an email for the uninstall and reinstall to get the gauges installed back into P3D or is there another way to reinstall into 2.5 without a reinstall?

Hi, I've installed FSX and the Mindstar G1000 software on a friend's computer, like I did on my own. But when I start flying with the standard C172 with G1000, end my flight and then change to a standard FSX plane (Carenado Caravan), FSX gives a fatal error and crashes. I re-installed everything. When I don't install Mindstar, everything is fine and stays fine. As soon as I install the G1000, initially everything is fine, until I execute the above. I don't have this problem on my own computer, while this is the same kind of software/hardware, although the graphic card is different at least (Windows7 on a MacBook Pro via Bootcamp). I just purchased the GNS 430/530 and when I launched Prepar3d v2.5 it appears in the aircraft and everything seems to work except the navigation map. GPS way-points are very dark blue and very hard to read because they match the same color water blue with a black background. Also I can not see other airports, VORS, or any navigational aid more than 20nm away and I cannot see any airspace boundary lines. The navigation top down map is pretty much unusable in RNAV approaches. I use the 430 in real world flying, but I am no expert on the GPS. After $90 of product purchasing cost I am very disappoint as the functionality seems to be worse than the default GPS. Any help would…

Good evening all, I am experiencing an issue with the GNS 530 installed into the A2A Cessna 172 Trainer. The unit appears to suffer from random freezing in so far as the display will not update. Clocking between frequencies updates the radios but the page the unit displays remains fixed and cannot be cleared, even by cycling the unit's power on and off. This issue is repeatable but is unfortunately random; there are no aparrent circumstances that lead to the failure. One moment it can be working and the next it can be failed. After tuning in a NDB, where on the displays will the track show up. I noticed the ADF/DME softkey for tuning and when the CDi softkey is pressed only the GPS,NAV1 and NAV2 are showen. Thanks in advance kilgourj

Hi, Last Saturday I purchased the GNS530.430 package. I have e-mailed a question about the installation that day but I haven't gotten an answer yet, so I'll post it here as well: There’s a rather important part of the installation that I don’t get unfortunately and I can’t find the undoubtedly simple solution anywhere. So basically my question is: where do I install the software? The installer suggests the path c:\program files (x86)\Mindstar\Flight Simulator Addons or a folder of my choice. I decided to install in the folder c:\FS Programs\Mindstar\GNS. So far so good, the software is installed to this location and I could activate the software online. But where …

Hi Can someone please let me know how to install the Mindstar GNS 430 to the A2A Cherokee. I get the gauge to appear ok as a window in the cockpit after install instructions here on this forum and on the A2A forum but I cant get it to appear in the vc panel. I only get the option to change between the default gps 400, the gps 295 and none.A step by step instruction would be much appriciated, Thanks Mike

Hi there, I purchase the G1000 from Mindstar this January in 2015 with the RealNav Data. I got it for the Eaglesoft DA-42, but i am having a problem activating it. The error is this (The Window Registry points to FSX and Prepar3D V1 in the same folder. This installation cannot continue until this is corrected.) I have FSX installed on my C: drive and P3D v2.4 on my external drive. The G1000 installation was giving me the same error at the end of the installation process. I am trying to install it inside P3D v2.4 folder and i don't know why it mentions Prepar3d v1, i don't own P3D V1 . Any help would be appreciated B) Thank you
