I want to know if these settings with the NI and my 580GTX are ok? https://www.dropbox....j98h/2xSGSS.JPG I have a little bit of shimmering. The Fixer has the recommended settings. Thank you Mike

Paul/Steve I would be immensely grateful if either of you could answer me the following question - hopefully its very simple but i've tied myself in knots reading various threads etc and I now cannot see the wood for the trees!! I set my DX10 Anti Aliasing at 2x in the Scenery Fixer/Controller - and it amends my cfg to read: MultiSamplesPerPixel=2 MultiSampleQuality=0 I'm happy with all that so far!! However, i'm totally confused now as to what to set my Nvidia Inspector AA settings at - particularly regarding the following lines in Inspector as I keep reading that Inspector should "match" the DX10 AA setting in the scenery Fixer/Controller. I hav…

Before I run this further up the flag pole to ORBX, I thought I would run this by PJ and Steve, or anyone else for that matter, for their input first. All of this occurs with or without Steve's Fixer and only in ORBX Australia SP4. It does not occur in DX9. I set FSX back to verify that. I have an interesting situation that I have not seen before. I just purchased the ORBX Australian SP4, and while most aircraft are fine, the Opensky, Skyspirit and TDS(Tenkuu Developers Studio) aircraft all have an issue where a very dark shadow is on the aircraft using the outside view. See the link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ng1mrpedchpw8qq/2013-12-24_10-43-35-434.BMP I am …

I was able to test available tweaks and modifications to run with DX10, quickly got around vsync problems and established a steady frame rate. The problem is my GPU can't handle the DX10 configuration very well. Even with the a humble 2AA setting, it kneels in dusk/dawn conditions. So far, DX9 can handle similar environments, maintaining 24-28, which is exactly the minimum of what I need to keep my hungry FSX heart satisfied... B) Other than that it flew great and looked beautiful. Always prefer stability and smoothness over anything else, I'll stick with DX9 until I get a new video board. So far, it doesn't look like FSX supports SLI technology. I would like to util…

Is it still recommended that Nvidia Inspector be used in conjunction with DX10 Scenery Fixer to tweak graphics settings? Correct me if I'm wrong, that when using DX10 Scenery Fixer with Nvidia Inspector, that the AA in the General shaders section of DX10 Fixer match that defined in Nvidia Inspector? Also, AA within FSX remains unchecked?

Hi all and happy holidays I've recently just puchased th DX10 fixer and I'm very impressed with some aspects of it. I am however having some performance issues related to full-screen mode using complex addon aircraft e.g. PMDG 777X. When swithcing to full-screen the frames almost halve from around 20 down to 10. Also if I switch a couple of times something weird happens to FS and a loading curser comes up every secong and drops the frames to around 5fps. I have set up Inspector as suggested in the manual and have SSGS set to 2x. Any help would be much appreciated. Gavin

Firstly though, just upgraded to version 1.29, and all I can say, is what a winner! Thanks very much for all the work on this Steve. Now, I just have tow minor problems, which will probably come down to some tweaking. So far, the application settings are at default, I have done no customisation (Of DX10 Fixer or aircraft). So, my issues are: 1. Carenado C-172N appears to have square navigation lights. All other lights are fine. 2. On the Carenado SR22, the reflections from the wings looking out of the VC seem too 'bright" (In real life this would be blinding to look at). 3. I've set up some good settings in Nvidia Inspector, but what AA and AF settings sho…

A couple of days ago I read a topic regarding a discovery by someone using DX10 Fixer, that if bloom was set in FSX and adjusted to 60% in DX10 Fixer there was quite an increase in FPS. Trouble is I can't find the topic again. But I just want to say I tried it and it worked for me as well I have a minimum of 5 fps to a max of 15 fps increase. Fantastic. And thanks to whoever it was discovered this.

Hi, i am thinking about buying DX10SF. I use everything from ORBX and all FSDT Airports,REX4 and ASN. Will i have to tweak the fsx.cfg and are there known issues? Thank you. Mike

I really really like my FlyTampa's Vienna and Dubai. Both I can't get to work with DX10  ... that's why I'd to get this out so maybe someone who is using these airports with DX10 can help out. There is a problem in Dubai with ground textures... they seem to render in really low resolution - only during DAWN, DUSK and NIGHT. It all works well during the day. Any idea how I could fix this? I see pictures of people flying into OMDB in night without the texture problem under DX10. I could not find a way to fix this but I know it works for others.. Well... and in Vienna (my most favourite airport actually!) there is a whole runway lighting missing.. that …

Hi all, I need some help in getting AA turned on with DX10 enabled. I am not sure where I am going wrong but anything I try it doesn't seem to enable the AA in FSX. I have made sure that it is turned on in the game settings and that the drop down is set to the correct one. I've also made sure that it's been told to put 4x or 8x in the actual FSX.cfg. I even tried messing about with the normal AMD control panel to see if that would have any affect. I did try RadeonPro to see if that would make any difference but doesn't seem to do it either. I have a 6870 and on Windows 8.1 if that makes any difference. Anyone have any idea?

Hi - I'm experiencing some significant drops in frames when flying under layers of cloud cover. I'm thinking my graphics card might be the issue. I currently run FSX on a laptop, as I travel quite often. I have a GT640M with 1GB VRAM. Is this the bottleneck for me? I use HDEv2 clouds. If anymore info is needed please let me know and I will be more than willing to provide it. I would also like to note that when using DX9 I rarely drop below 20fps even with complete overcast/thunderstorms. Thanks, John

Hello I bought the dx10 scenery fixer from flightsimstore yesterday and when I tried to run the installer it gave me an "application error - unable to start correctly 0xc-0000142" message on the screen and froze the desktop (but not the tray icons so i could restart my PC). I'm using Windows 8.1/64bit with FSX Gold. Look forward to figuring this one out... Regards Will.

So I finally decided to give DX10 a chance, spending a few hours collecting the various tweaks, necessary files and applying the changes to my FSX installation. Using the most common settings (AVSIM forum) I got everything working, except for acceptable frame rates from VC-view. Before I fixed vsync, frame rates were fine all over, but once I killed the tearing, fps dropped to 18-24 from VC-view. In spot view, fps remained steady at 29-30. I already had everything working smoothly with DX9, so I gave up. FSX in DX10 looks good, but there is only so much time left over for tweaking these days... Maybe someone has a cure?

Yesterday I installed the latest dx fixer and my fpm are half what the were with the original dx fixer. Can someone look at my stuff and make any suggestions. I still find also the PMDG777 virtual cockpit gauges are a bit jagged until I zoom in some. I use the latest REX weather program, UK2000 airport sceneries and Aivlasoft (great addon). These are all on the same computer. Thanks Paul fsx.CFG.txt

1. Replace the "ShadersHLSL" folder with the original FSX folder. (I should do this because I had altered it when installing Steve's Shader Release v3.2.2, and I also manually applied some changes per Bojotes-shader and changed the "Rain40.fx" per IFLYFSX rain fix.) 2. Replace the "Shaders10" folder found in the FSX folder found here: C/Users/{your username}/AppData/Local Microsoft/FSX folder. (I should do this because Steve's fixes and other changes I've done have altered the contents of the original "Shaders10" folder) (replacement can also be done by deleting the two Shaders cache folders inside your (Windows 7) “C:\Users\{your username}\AppDat…

I am now on the latest version - v1.2 build 28 I think. Has the installer changed at all....for the 1st time it advised me that I had an enb mod d3d9.dll present in my fsx folder (which I did have) that would prevent the fixer from running! It not a problem as I simply renamed the dll to off and re-ran the fixer installer but I have had previous versions of the fixer installed without this message so what's changed?? With the help of the DX10 thread updated by Paul J and the Steve's software, I now have a new FSX! My previous experience with the PMDG 777 and long distance flights did not result in many OOMs, but I did achieved this by tuning down my settings. After installing DX10 Fixer and spending a few hours adjusting my fsx.cfg along with the setting adjusters in DX10, I am really happy with the results - bloom, self-shadowing, ground shadows - and a nearly constant fixed 30 FPS in external view - regardless of the cloud conditions or whether I am viewing the top or bottom of the aircraft, and a respectable 15+ FPS in the PMDG 737 NGX cockpit and even more in the 777 cockpit.…
