PMDG 777

  1. Started by mrdfw,

I have been unable to have 777 perform auto step climb with auto step climb enabled in options menu of CDU, however now by NOT entering destination STAR and or runway at destination airport on CDU, it now works great, enter flight level in CDU and MCP, then CDU calculates higher step climb altitude and automatically sets new altitude on MCP at step climb point, have not tried with manually entered climb altitudes with "S" after flight level as 380S,

Hi! I just love the PMDG T7 and i like manual landings but i have some problems during night time. For me, landings during darkness are difficult. I usually have a little bit harder landings if it´s dark because i have to practise night landings^^. Today, FS Flight Keeper told me that my touchdown rate (-VS) was about -275 FPM. Normally i´m happy with -150 or -200. My question: Is a touchdown rate of -275 ok? Thanks for your answers!

  3. Hi, I'm new to the forum, greetings. I have a problem with buying PMDG 777, I paid with paypal and not let me download, not on my account PMDG, anyone knows any solution, thanks.

  4. This is a very good video on using the PMDG 777 along with PFPX Flight Planner. It even shows the settings for creating the Emirates Boeing 777 in PFPX. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=z6cFl5uT-uo

Hello all, I was flying from VHHH to CYYZ on ACA016. as i was cruising at FL310 doing Mach .850 (i dont pay for the gas:P) Flying AP, LNAV and VNAV. I noticed that i have a tailwind of 77 knots which was not directly coming from behind me. because of this the plane started banking left and right heavily. when i cleared all the weather from fsx it went back to normal (no banking). So the AP overreacts by trying to correct for the winds. can this be a bug with the plane? I had the same problem a few days back when on approach to EGLL. the same thing happened. i took manual control of the AC and landed safely. can anyone shed some light on the banking pr…

Hi all, I just came upon the news that Jetmax has released its plans to build 777 modules in the same format as their current 737NG model. No pricing information as of yet but it looks pretty awesome!! http://www.jetmax.ca/news/images-of-the-new-jetmax-777sktq/

perhaps someone could help me understand how routing works over high ground in commercial aviation. from what I can tell from various dvds an airliner cannot safely fly over terrain higher than 10000 ft incase of a sudden cabin decompression unless it is able to reach and area with max terrain height of 10000 ft within ten mins of the decompression. this must make routing pretty restrictive as ten mins is not a long time and at approx. 495 kts means a dist of approx. 80 nm. therefore you have to be within 80 nm of terrain of 10000 or less at all times during the flight? have I understood this correctly? .so based on this I wonder why there are numerous airw…

Don't know if this has been previously reported but a search didn't show anything. Just setting up a flight out of YBCS Cairns Australia & discovered the Rwy 15 Swift 7 STAR is wrong. Has you doing a right turn into the mountain range instead of left turn out over the sea. First time I've found this to be incorrect. Was OK for NGX737. Will have to do it manually which will be a bit of fun! Ross Casey

So I start a long a long flight this morning, Singapore - Zurich (WSSS-LSZH). A flight I have personally taken in a 777-300ER and have been waiting a long time to replicate (200LR would have to do for now), even down to careful planning in PFPX to the exact minute. I was happily cruising around 9:30hrs into the flight, I come and go as I am not sitting at my PC for almost 13 hours, and I cancel a pilot response EICAS message. Start checking my time and fuel schedule to see how well the flight is doing (was 6 minutes early) and I get a Warning alarm and EICAS message ENG L fail.. This was a shock as I didn't have it programmed and don't even have a random failure interval…

This is just an idea I had but a large number of 777 spinners in the engine are silver. After seeing the greased wheel texture on avsim I was wondering if it is possible to make a silver spinner texture for the engine. thanks

  12. Hi all. I have search the NET and here to no avail with the following. Just bought the PMDG 777 and on my first attempt to fly On Line, with SB I find that SB does not recognize the frequency I am on. It does recognize the type of a/c B772 the VA but it gives me on the bottom right hand side 'Transmitting on 136.97 (text only)' When I change freq in the aircraft nothing changes on the SB window. Works fine with PMDG B737. SB vers is 4.0 Latest FSX patch. And brand new B777. Any suggestions guys? Thanks Bat

Whenever I click on a display to have it popout, it always resets to default positions after a plane load. Would it be possible to have it remember its placement?

  14. I am flying EGLL-KEWR and the flight plan calls for a speed and altitude restriction for the oceanic track portion of the flight (M0.83/FL360) The legs page has the FMC calculated values, which include a step climb in the middle of the NAT. I have tried to override by entering the required speed and altitude at each oceanic waypoint, but I get an "invalid entry" message, no matter now I try to enter it. I can do speed intervene and not perform the step climb until exiting the track, but I'd like the performance calculations (fuel predictions) to be correct. Am I missing something? Bill Rowe

Just for my own purposes, I was curious if someone could please definitively answer this question re the PFD: If you refer to the Tutorial #1 manual, page 0.00.64 - there is a screenshot of the PFD. On it, you'll notice a small rectangular black box with a "-2" in it (lower portion of the artificial horizon in the bottom of the brown/earth area) - I've noticed this status each time prior to start-up and wandered what (if anything) it actually means/indicates? As I understand it, it is something relevant to the Radio Altimeter - not sure if it is a default startup indication or what? Appreciate the clarification.

I was wondering if anyone had, or has made, a different or consolidated set of printable procedures for the T7 besides the one that comes with the FCOM, as the one in the FCOM is un-printable and has way too many variables for planes and configs that we don't even have (until we see the -300ER and so on.) It's kind of a pain having to scroll through pages upon pages on my iPhone because there are 2-3 pages of engine start procedures when we only have the GE90's. I looked on Avsim but I've really only been able to find procedures for the old PSS, which has much different (and IMHO, incorrect) procedures than the actual FCOM calls for. Do I need to wait for FS2Crew to b…

I have now seen this happen only twice, but they are flights apart, so they both happened within proximity of one another. Nothing is wrong during climb or descent, but during cruise, the green speed acceleration indicator is moving up and down, up and down, making the plane loose altitude and climb then descend, in total madness! I have been flying with out such issues for quite some time now, so I do not identify anything wrong on my part, setup wise. Also I noticed during ADIRU alignment, I had to reenter the coordinates after it suddenly needed the digits again. Please any ideas on what is happening to my new baby? Plus on my backup PFD sometimes i…

  20. Hello all - there are quite a few users that don't have FSINN setup correctly - and as a consequence it means the rest of us don't get to see you properly in your shiny new 777! instead we see you online as ZZZZ and then some default aircraft. This is what to do to fix (well one way) The reason is because you don't have edit current used plane set - likely because you have a FSINN.cfg file in the folder to make FSINN ignore it. That was because people didn't want FSINN using that model as AI. However you can make it so it doesn't. Step 1 - Remove the FSINN.cfg file from your simobjects/aircrafts/whatever your plane is Step 2 - with FSINN running Press…

Having saved the tutorial flight in FSX and panel state in the FMC on reaching FL380, because RL intervened, the next day I reloaded it. In the cockpit everything was fine and the flight resumed as if there had not been a break. However, when I looked at a spot view I saw an item of ground equipment attached as in the attached screenshots. Also, later on, after lowering the gear I saw that the wheel chocks were still in place. When I saw the ground equipment attached I went in to the FMC to see if they were showing as selected there but no all ground items were greyed out as they are after you de-select them. Has this happened to anyone else? Iain Smith

  25. With the B744 I had been in the habit of subtracting 10 tonnes from the gross weight at 500nms before arrival airport to account for the fuel burn from the point of setting landing flaps to landing, to set my Vref for flaps 30. With the B777, should I subtract an amount (say ~8 tonnes) if I am setting my landing flaps at 500nms from arrivals airport still, or just use the Vref value shown for flaps 30?
