PMDG 777

    I had to stop my flight to attend to some matters that came up, so I decided to try out an engine out failure. I programmed the failure for eng 2 severe engine failure, set it to trigtger in 2 minutes. Right on schedule the engine died, but there were no master caution, audible alerts, or EICAS messages. When I brought up the ECL, it was set to the engine out abnormal checklist as expected, but I would have expected at least a master caution alert? Has anyone else run into this? Tom Cain

    This may not be a 777 issue at all, however, but I'm posting it here in the hopes that maybe someone has experienced it also. When I advance the throttles manually, they behave eratically although they go in the proper direction after some fiddling. It doesn't happen with the NGX or Majestic DH8. I've reprogrammed them in FSUIPC numerous times to no avail. Any Ideas? Ted Belden

  7. After making a decent at Brussel Airport EBBR ILS 25L there was a problem, APP didn't work , cause PMDG NAV/RAD is making frequentie 110.35/250, but it should be 110.30/250, see FSX/FSC.

  8. When flying an international flight, what are the average reserves you would expect to have? I am landing with 9 or 10 kgs of fuel left, the sensor warns you with 6. So should I have less than 9 or 10? These are ETOPS 120 flights so I am thinking that extra fuel is required. I'd like to get a better understanding for how much fuel I should be loading so I don't waste money! Thank you! David Frank

Hi, I export my flightplan from PFPX to: - FSX format (.pln) - PMDG 777 format Then I load the FSX .pln into ASN: I would have 3 questions: 1) I don't understand why all my flight plans have FL180... which turns to be the transition altitude and not the cruise altitude? 2) I know it's a dumb question but do I have to change manually within ASN: Cruise KTS, Climb FPM, Climb KTAS, Descent FPM, Descent KTAS? 3) I read that ASN has an interpolation feature. So I understand that it is capable of detecting the position of the aircraft. So why do I need to load a flight plan? Does it help to have a more accurate weather?

    In first I apologyze for my language When I fly every think is correct, exept I can't use my FMC. I can't modify my route, I can't pass a point to the top, and if I have to change the runway (for the wind by exemple), even if the dep/arr window is open, I can't. Please if someone have a answer.   14. Hi, Just a word of caution for those planning on flying into Runway 26 for Tel Aviv (LLBG), using the default scenery for FSX. There is a radio mast right next to the runway, almost on the runway border. I've just clipped it with my left wing after a 4.5hrs flight and a perfect touchdown. Even with the 777 bang on the centreline, the wing will not clear the mast. All I can say at the moment is that I'm not in a happy place right now. I'll either have to get add-on scenery to replace the default LLBG with or I'll have to edit the airport and move the mast myself. Regards,

    Hello, today I found anothe rissue with the 777. Flying form ZBAA to YSSY all of the sudden the capt seat VC went unclickable. No pointers, no hands. Everything works as it should from other views like to FO and all panels. All pop-up panel work just fine as they should. Just the capt side is inop. Thought it may be a screen issue. nope. Also tried the f9 button as sometimes the vc is inop after changing screens. nope. I am at a loss on this one. anyone else have this issue? I have quite a few flights in this bird and this is the first time I have seen this one. Google and other forums offered no help. Am I the first ?? Thanks.

  23. Hello, I am wondering about the reasons for the difference between the autopilot in the 777 compared to the 737 and other Boeing models. When I fly the 737 ngx and I am, say, practicing t&g's I like to partially delegate to the autopilot things like the throttle and even the pitch so that I only have to manage turns at the cruise portions of the exercise, however I am finding that I cannot do this with the 777 since only the throttle is independent of the other autopilot controls so I can either have both the heading and pitch managed by the autopilot or not, and to me this is a little bit frustrating since I really enjoy having control of the heading without managing…

  25. Hello Everyone! I have bought the T7 a couple of months back and since then I have been reading the forums quite avidly. I remember reading that PMDG runs code out of the FSX main process. One of my tweaks to run FSX better is to give it real time priority in the task manager. It works great to avoid stutter and to get textures to load faster. When I read that PMDG runs code outside of FSX I looked in task manager to see if there were any PMDG process going on to set a higher priority too. Unfortunately there are none listed.
