  3. Hi....does anyone else has an erratic autopilot issue on PMDG 777. This doesn't happen in every flight...but my autopilot can erratically switch itself off and the plane begins to roll out of control until I manually take over. The last time it happened, I had just gone to the overhead panel to switch on the dome light. The ap warning sound continues for the rest of the flight....and won't let me re engage the ap.     Has the realism of the sequence of events and hands off flying after a Fuel Exhaustion flameout on the PMDG 777 even been discussed? Here is what I've seen: I noticed that if I simply let the fuel run out and don’t touch a thing (previously I was setting a VertSpd descent rate at engine fail), first the engines fail with 300 lbs of fuel left, the autopilot holds altitude (I was at over 30K feet at Mach = .85) and lets the speed bleed off until it gets to 170 knots or so and then the stall warning goes off and the autopilot disconnects. Then the nose lowers under FlyByWire control and the aircraft descends at about 2000 fpm so the airspeed stays at 180 knots or so al…

  6. I am considering purchasing these products, but need some advice, please. They are relatively expensive and I don't want to waste £££s. Most of our flying in the B777 is at high altitudes where scenery detail is perhaps not so important. So my questions are: Does OrbX FTX Global Base alone give the great majority of the scenery improvements required for long haul flying? Do the OpenLC and Vector add-ons to Global Base give any perceptible improvements when flying the B777, at the price? Hi Ryan et al, While we patiently we wait for the Capt. to have a speedy recovery and get back on his feet, I was wondering if PMDG has considered making the 773/sp1 SDK available now, perhaps at least to back-channel partners or vendors who request it? As I understand it from one of your previous posts, the SDK is done, and with the 'code freeze', it would seem there is little chance of corrections required to the SDK before release? Wouldn't this facilitate 3rd-party add-ons getting a head-start and perhaps releasing their respective products and updates that much closer to the 773/sp1 release date?     Sliders minimized - saving/reloading at TD - Excluding ALL airports through SCE, except for those in use - OOM's anyway! What the heck is wrong with this PMDG app?! Good evening everyone, With SP1 being right around the corner and a host of new features included in it the one thing that has me tickled pink is PMDG's introduction of the Datalink Communications feature. I seen it in live use while sitting in the jumpseat the other day on a WestJet 737, I watched them receive there flight plan as well as there takeoff performance data while doing there preflight. I understand there would certainly have to be some limitations to this feature in the FSX world, but I do think it would be possible to receive weather data via ACARS and possibly even oceanic clearance or pre-departure clearance if it just pinged back what we sent.   18. I have no problem entering company routes except at KBOS for some reason (Fly Tampa v 3.2). As a check, I used the same flight plan, KBOS - CYHZ, with the 737 NGX and the plan loaded properly. I've checked other flight plans with the 777 and found no problems. The flight plan was created using Flight Sim Commander and no problems were found with that. I'm using Airac 1406. A mystery to me why this only happened at KBOS. Otherwise, no problems with the aircraft's FMC. If anyone has an idea about solving this, I'd sure be very appreciative. Jack Fentress

  20. Hi I have been noticing that on takeoff using TOGA, once reaching 80-100kts, my thrust will instantly reduce to about 60% N1, and I have to re-advance the throttles to takeoff thrust. It appears that it is the throttle on my joystick is making very small movements that are overriding the auto throttle. The auto throttle is not overridden before 80-100kts, and moving the hardware makes no difference, but when I reach that speed, the hardware throttle regains control to adjust the throttle in the sim. Once gaining about a thousand feet of altitude, my hardware looses the ability to override the auto throttle, and all is normal. Also, when I do have control over the thro…

    Hi everyone Not sure if anybody has experienced this before but after starting my descent into my destination airport, I get a cabin pressurization warning, after which my plane veers off course even with AP, VNAV, & LNAV activated. Please help as I am not sure what is going on. This also seems to only affect my PMDG fleet and not my other planes.

  24. I post the question here since a T7 flight is usually longer. What happen when we fly through the end of an AIRAC cycle? E.g. current AIRAC 1406 ends on Jun 25 at 0000Z? and at the time while in air, will the FMC auto switch to AIRAC 1407? If that is the case, the FMC would have 2 cycles in her memory right? What happen if a waypoint has changed from 1 cycle to the next? Name may change, actual location may change and sometimes deleted. BTW, how is the database updated in real life?
