Hi guys, out of interest, should the T7 777-300 include vortex generators on the flaps or is this a unique feature on certain aircraft? I've noticed that they do exist in the bump maps and textures but not on the physical wing model. I don't have any example images from the PMDG T7 but loading it up, setting Flaps to 30 and then comparing with the linked picture below and they are quite a prominent feature of the 77W wing. I had a look at the real -200 and they are absent so this seems to be a feature unique to the 77W and LR which distinguishes the wing a lot from the older series. http://www.airliners.net/photo/V-Australia/Boeing-777-3ZG-ER/1753971/L/ http://www…

Hi there having just bought the PMDG 777, i was unsure about the windows 8.1 compatibility, but also having the PMDG 747 400 X and that works ok i bought the 777, but unfortunately the 777 doesnt work as good, for example no matter how long that i wait the APU doesnt start up, and in the FMC the cg% Values cannot be inserted either manually or via th shortcut mentioned in the PMDG tutorial. Please could anyone advise me as to how to get around this ? my system is AMD A10 6800K 8 gb DDr3 RAM 1600mhz 2tb hard drive 8670hd onboard graphics Windows 8.1 Flight simulator X with acceleration Thanks Chris Heydon

Just wondering why the pop screens are not able to be dragged around like in the 737? This was really great on approach with a second screen.

I installed SP1 for the 200LR but now I get this whenever I select the plane. I read somewhere(here on avsim) that is can be fixed by reinstalling the 777; so I did this a few times it every time I would get the error. Note, it only happens with SP1 installed, without it it works fine. The ops center is up to date(v1.9 or something) if that matters.

Hi I'm more an airbus fan than Boeing but my favorite plan is the B777, so few months ago I started to read B777 FCOM and purchase the B777 PMDG. I must admit that I'm more familiar with the C* law but I have a hard time to figure out how the C*U works and how to handfly in order to maintain the flightpath. i know that the B777 is speed stable, so when you trim, you're not directly moving the THS but the elevators will first move in order to reach the target Trim speed and then the THS will move accordingly to " free " the elevator so that the pilot will have full elevator deflection. Also I haven't fly a GA aircraft, thus making me a hard time understand…

OK - I am getting bored flying the 777 already. Does anyone have any crazy challenges in the 777 we can try? One thing I did was try a take off and land on the same runway via a 360 go around in the shortest time (no wind). I got it down to 2 min 29 secs. From start to roll to full stop. Post any cool stuff we can try.

HI, I do not know if it's only me but I found that after several night flights, the logo lights are really too dim compared to the NGX . They should be about 50% brighter .It seems it must be a foggy day everywhere! Has anybody noticed it? AlainV

So I've painted a few liveries on the 77L and 77F and the paintkit always inserted one window on top of the fuselage just forward of the left side cargo door, nowhere else and in EVERY paint I tried to make. Since it was just one window it didn't bother me too much and I brushed it off. But now I saw someone request a Swiss Air 77W repaint, and since it's incredibly easy I did it, but was met with an entire upper fuselage full of windows... and this was just ridiculous. I'm probably doing something wrong, since there have been hundreds of liveries without these windows, but here was my process: On the 77L and 77F it only put one window up top and I just dea…

Hello guys today I start to use ASNext and I´m not able to received forecast uplink. All other uplinks (route, performance, wind) are receiving OK. Before I used FSX default or REX weather engine without any problem. Probably I have any wrong settings in ASN. Do you have idea? Thank you very much. Martin.

Is there a standard time for prepartion for the flight crew before the pushback of the heavy jets. I presume this time would be prescribed by the company concerned but a generalised idea would be good. Secondly, I would love to see some bright spark come up with a better way to start up the long winded process of organising a long haul flight. Imagine it starts with an animated sequence like seen in a first person shooter where you arrive at the dispatch office and you are greeted by the dispatch officer and by the other crew members. You sign up for a flight and PFPX generates a flight plan report for you which automatically transfers to the EFB. The briefing uses AS…

I originally downloaded SP1, but when I ran Operations Center before the update it automatically downloaded and installed the SP1 on its own. Should I wait for SP1b to be pushed through the Ops Center or just go ahead and DL it? Does it make any difference whatsoever which method I choose?

Hi, Just a quick question regarding calculating takeoff performance in the 77W. Previously I was using TOPCAT for the v-speed and de-reate calculations but they do not support the 77W as of yet. How do you guys do it? Would anyone be able to help me with this? Cheers, Mark Jordan

Is there any way to make the ALTN uplink to use only specific airoprts and not the closest to the plane? on my flights I use specific airports as my "enroute alternate" and not the closest airports to the flight path. Thanks for the help ^_^

Hi guys, Just bought the 777-300ER and got the SP1 and it is great but I'm getting completely erroneous ETA on my FMS progress page. i am currently on a BA virtual flight from EGLL to OKBK and the time is 1735 UTC - which is set on the clock. However, my progress page is showing i will reach my next waypoint at 1352 UTC. Now I have used the route uplink from a PFPX flight plan - has that got anything to do with it? if so, that is a bug because the correct time is shown on the PFPX plan. or is there something I'm doing wrong? also, i seem to be getting an 'ILS ANTENNA' caution for some reason nice work guys like the weather radar and the flight dynamics changes.…

Hi Last year I flew Cathay Pacific flight 831 Boeing 777-300ER KJFK-VHHH. Its 14Hr 23min posted on Flight Aware To My knowledge the Aircraft was fully loaded (not a single vacant seat) Don't know about Cargo. I am trying to reenact their flight because it is unique in the sense it is East Bound and flies over Northern Canada, Greenland and Northern Europe and drops to Hong Kong across China. FPXP indicates: insufficient fuel for the flight, fuel required exceeds Aircraft capacity of 325000lb. I can't release the flight Bill Hagag

Hi, a while ago (right after the release of the PMDG 777), I posted a topic concerning the final approach behavior of the 777, wondering if there was some sort of flare assist. Well, it turns out that there is something very much like what I described, but I wouldn't exactly call it flare assist. To test this, I encourage you to manually fly an approach and landing without the auto thrust, and then do the same thing again, only with auto thrust engaged this time (like Boeing and most airlines recommend). There is a stunning difference in the last 30 or 25 feet AGL. Basically, up until a few days ago, I ALWAYS flew with auto thrust off, as I found it to be a little sl…

Hi All, I like to read real pilots' forums as I can learn lots of tricks and know about their difficulties with their equipment, mostly very similar in our virtual world. There is a very interesting discussion I read recently about to keep or not to keep the autothrottle armed after engines on. There is really a risk to blow a Boeing in the terminal building if someone pushes inadvertently the TOGA button. Coincidence or not, this night I flew my T7 Cargo to TJSJ San Juan Puerto Rico, and after a very nice flight, approach and landing at rwy 08, as I cleared the active, instead of using the landing lights on/off button, I used the TOGA button, as both are close e…
