PMDG 777

  1. I have been looking for the Boxed PMDG 777 since the beginning of 2014 and keep looking at the Aerosoft web site. They continually push the release back a month at a time yet they indicate that you can preorder it. I was now October 30, 2014 when I lokked yesterday. Any info or thoughts on this? Maybe it is just a way for Aerosoft to get a long term no interest loan?

  2. I was wondering how do I divert to an ALTN airport in this scenario: If i miss the approach at my destination more then 3 times due to severe weather and I want to divert. After I miss the approach, does the ATC assign me a sid? After he assigns me the sid, I fly my route, and Im assigned a star and I land at my ALTN. BUT.... In the provided tutorial: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/73486-pfpx-etops-pmdg777-part-2-flightdeck/ (download it to see it) They type their route for ALTN in route 2 page but they type it in without a sid? And when you divert to an ALTN, for origin and destination airport you need to write your airport you fai…

Hello everyone, I noticed that after a few hours of flying the plane will begin to turn on its own but the heading on the the navigation display and PFD does not change at all. The route on the NAV display does not move at all as the plane is turning, its as if only the NAV displays and the heading on the PFDs are frozen. After a few minutes of this the heading circle will rotate completely around until it matches back up with the correct heading. This is the second time this has happened, after the first time I did a complete reinstall of the 777 but that did not seem to help. If anyone out there had the same problem I could really use your help. Thanks, Kyle

  4. When I dump fuel, instead of the fuel being white, its huge black squares coming from the wingtips. This happens to me everytime i use the pmdg 777. Ive also noticed to same problem with the extra 300 smoke on coming from its tail. All black squares, no white fluffy smoke coming. Someone told me that I am missing some texture files. Where can i get these texture files? These are the type of black squares I am talking about.

Unfortunately, I remain periodically stuck with the VAS monster on this aircraft (shudder to think what is going to happen with future aircraft). So, when the FSUIPC "ding ding ding" starts, I know I can at least save the flight and somewhat recover. Here is the problem: the interior recovers/reloads just fine, but the exterior does not. The center of the fans has no texture on the external model and the test flight extras (little lines that come off the tail) are showing. This is with the Lufthansa 777F, which is about all I fly (99% of the time). I realize that even going outside is a VAS factor, but I want to look at the outside sometimes. In any case, w…

Wow guys, this was amazing! Just was on windshear-hunting again and I can tell you... Try my well-trusted ASN scenario (historical weather): April 30th 2014, KNPA25L T/O at 1108Z inbound KJKA to KJKA360/5 (abeam threshold RWY27). At 1113Z I got into the windshear. I was able to reproduce this scenario as the windshear appeared at (almost?) exact the same location. Perhaps you can make the same experience... At 1100ft AGL the windshear caught me, I let the situation "develop" for 15 seconds, disengaged the A/P and only at 550ft AGL I commanded TO/GA on A/T. At 200ft AGL the plane began to climb again. If I would have command…

Hi Captains, Honestly, I don't really know where to start: I was on a routine flight from VTBS Bangkok to LOWW Vienna, at cruise alt. Everything seemed nice and quiet - when all of a sudden I get a caution light and the airplane started a slight uncommanded climb. I was at FL320, disengaged the AP and arrested the climb and decended back to my FL320 however - (mind you I have no failures activated) as soon as I commanded ALT HOLD, on the MCP nothing happened - and from there on - ANY input to the MCP was disregarded by the Aircraft - yes, I could manually fly the plane and it responded to joystick imput as it should, however - neither HDG Sel - HDG Hold - FLCH - ALT …

I believe I have spotted a bug in when the engine oil temperature failure is triggered. If I allow the engine oil quantity to drop too low without topping it up, during the descent, and particularly in turns during the descent, the engine oil quantity can fall into the 'low' zone. This always seems to happen to the right engine - it seems to use more oil than the left. When the oil quantity falls into the low zone, it immediately triggers the Engine Oil Temperature failure. The problem with this is there is then no way of stopping the oil temperature rising without manually cancelling the failure in the FMC. The checklists suggest increasing the throttle to mi…

  10. So I uninstalled a few liveries, now i want to reinstall one of them, but i came across something strange. Some of the uninstalled liveries have the red update button next to it. If i click them it changes to installed but the livery is not installed at all (no texture folder and nothing in the aircraft.cfg). + they are not there in the livery manager part of the OC. This means that they cannot be uninstalled, thus not able to reinstall. Anybody know what i can do about this?

You can now start building your HomeCockpit based on the PMDG 777 flight model using Opencockpits hardware modules and OCP4777X driver software. All PMDG SDK Variables and Events are fully integrated into the OCP4777X driver and can be hooked up to Opencockpits Output/inputs modules. All Variables and and Events are mapped over to SIOC offsets for easy scripting. A typical cockpit can be built with only 1 PC running all hardware/software and all monitors. Scripts to use MCP, EFIS, CDU and COM are available now. All other cockpit functions can be set up via Opencockpits SIOC scripting language. Use of OCP4777X must comply to PMDG's EULA and are on…

Hi guys, Have a slight problem since the SP1 release on the 777F version. Bascially i keep getting engine oil failure with other engine failures as well which means i need to shut off the engine, i try to cancel the failure in the FMS but comes back instantly. I have failures set to off in the options so im wondering why this happens? Can post a screenshot if it would help. Thanks.

I am interested in purchasing PFPX. I like how it uses ASN for wind when creating a flight plan, and you can plan fuel consumption.. however, I heard that the SIDS and STARS don't coincide with the FMC in PMDG. I know you don't export them when creating the route, but matching them up together isn't even possible as PMDG has more way points available than PFPX does. Is there a method to make them more "in sync"? Thanks.

This seems, as far as I can tell, to be a random timer with upper/lower time limits, that triggers the cabin ready message- both on arrival before landing, and on taxi out before take-off. I'm wondering if the message on departure is triggered by engine start, push-back or taxi start (and if the taxi requires any pre-requisite such as engine start or pushback). I'm building some saved "flights" at the pre-takeoff phase with various departure procedures that I can use as a shortcut to flight with only 30 minutes available to sim in the weekday evenings, but want to make sure I get that awesome "cabin ready" chime. Thanks, Bruce.

D/L a trial version of ASN for a networked computer. In trying to get it to work I changed some sim connect files and reloaded FSUIPC. After that I lost all lettering from my displays. Displays still show throttle position and such but no alpha/numeric information. I've submitted a support ticket and I am waiting for a reply. Anyone experience this issue before or have any suggestions in the mean time? Thanks, Jerry Carroll FDX061

Attached a pic of my Matrox Triple Head to Go set-up , using a 4th monitor off the 2nd output of my video card , with the PMDG-777. Someone had asked about perfomance hits using a 4th monitor. Im running it in full screen with the 777 lower overhead displayed on the 4th monitor. Im still getting 20 - 25 FPS with the 4th running, then on the ground, at KPHX using Flightbeam's scenery i get around 16 FPS with the overhead displaying.

At the page 10.10.7. of the vol.2 FCOM, you can see VNAV Speed Band is offered as an option but cannot find a way to enable it in PMDG 777. Is it simulated or not? If not, why not?

  21. Good Afternoon All I am experiencing a problem with two things on the 777. The first, a repeating problem with fuel indication on FSX and FMC even while ONLY using the FMC fuel management system. FSX indicates, for example: at full it shows 89% while on FMC I select full. I tried re-installing after performing other tweaks from both ends; on the FMC and on FSX. I particularly noticed that when I default the values on FSX to zero in an attempt to allow FMC to set the correct amount, the values on FSX return to their original values reflecting 89% instead of 100% fuel. The same occurs with any of the other fuel levels selected on the FMC. The values do not match. …

I tried to find an answer on Active Sky forums but was unsuccessful, so I'm trying my luck here. I've been trying to figure out how to load weather into ASN that would trigger the 777 radar's windshear alert. On a related note, I'm also trying to figure out how to create a microburst on ASN while flying the 777. Does anyone know how to set up these conditions - I'm dying to see how it is with the 777.

Hello, my question might sound a bit stupid but I could not find anything about this topic on the net. After already in take off mode, I tried to reject the take off by just pulling back the throttles at my joystick but the aircraft continued to accelerate for take off. What do I need to do to reject the take off? I would be very thankful if you could help me here. Thanks very much in advance. Tilo

I don't know if anybody else has had this error. I planned a flight from EGLL to OMDB with the 777-300. On PFPX it has a cost index of 64. When I auto load it into the 777 FMC, the cost index is set at 85. Surely they should be the same value.
