I know the md80 is known for having slow to spool engines, but it seems like they spool very fast in the simulation. Is this correct?

Hi there thought to bring this over from the Facebook group. I have two main topics I want to discuss because I do not know if they are a bug or a feature (e.g. the real plane also behaves like this). Maybe some of the real Maddog drivers can shed some light on to this. 1. Route following a) When entering a STAR it sometimes happens that the planes goes of track. My observation was, that while entering the STAR sometimes the plane just continues going on the current heading and does not consider the active waypoint. Hi, Im thinking of buying ORBX FTX Base + Vector although I have a low end PC with 4GB RAM, a NVIDIA GeForce 210 graphic card and a Windows 7 32-bit Version. I wont be using complex aircraft addons like the PMDGs because of memory limitations (Too many OOMs).But I could fly less complex aircrafts like the Project Airbus series' without any memory problems and framerate drops. So I fly the Project Airbus A380 with vasFMC most of the time but with complex airport sceneries like the FlyTampa's. So is there any chance of getting an OOM error by flying the Project Airbus A380 with a detailed scenery like FlyTampa Dubai with FTX+Vector? How much of VAS does FTX+Vector cons…

Gday guys, Nice work on the Mad Dog. My question relates to the use of assumed temp. With TOGA selected the max EPR display is coming up with the correct max value say 1.94 for example. If i then hit the flex button and dial in a temp of say 50 the max EPR indication above the EPR gauges is going blank and on selection of autothrottle on and take off thrust is set the EPR is running way beyone to around 2.2 or so. On selecting the temp my understanding is it should display the corresponding EPR limit based off the dialed in temp and autothrust should limit take off thrust to this value. First of all, amazing work! It's so good to be back in the MD-80!! The plane and addon I missed most from the MSFS days. Finally got my first flight up and running and noticed 2 things 1) When I input winds into the FMS I noticed that the ETA and Fuel figures don't change. Are wind calculations not modeled? 2) On the Pressurization panel, for the LDG Alt, I see that the scale is labeled as IN HG, yet the values are MBs?

Dear Team, Congratulations on what seems to be a successful release of a magnificent aircraft. I have now spent the last couple of days flying the MD80 on several legs and have noticed a few items: The clock is sometime loosing time and falls behind the clock in Prepar3Dv4 The only shadow visible of the aircraft from the cockpit is the cockpit section. The rest of the aircraft isn´t visible from inside the cockpit When capturing the ILS the aircraft shoots through the LOC first, but becomes established later on. Evening all, Me again! So I finally bit the bullet and went from FSX to P3DV4. However, after messing around with the settings and reading some old forum posts about lagging and freezing I still haven't perfected the sim to be lag and freezing free.Don't get me wrong, it is a lot better than when I first started off. I haven't made any changes to the CFG apart from within the Sim. In the Sim, initially it lags a bit, then after a couple of minutes its okay with the occasional couple of second lag, then after a few more minutes it just keeps freezing for about 15 seconds at a time. For some reason, the engine sounds while in the exterior view, are extremely quiet on my setup. I don't hear any JT8D roar. I have my engine sounds turned all the way up in the P3D menu. I also tried turning the ambient volumes up in the Maddog Load manager, and still no joy. Is this how it is supposed to be? Was really hoping to hear the awesome roar that is the JT8D.

I'm trying to assign various event commands to my joystick, however, I find it to be unclear. How do I associate my stick to the assignments on the load manager? its all a sort of hit and miss. Say you have a Saitek x52, What's the joys number? is it 0 or 1? and the button? does it correspond to that in windows control panel? do the throttle and stick account as a single joy or does each have a different number? The manual is rather vague in that regard

I used to love EZdok in FSX, but after numerous attempts to get it to give me what I want in P3d....and many, many communications with EZdok, I have been unable to get what I want. ALL I want is the "movement" of the cockpit like EZdok and Chaseplane give, and I don't care about "Camera views". I just want to use my #7 and #8 buttons on my joystick (Microsoft FF2) to TOGGLE through my normal views (A and S) for views within the category and new category for EVERY plane in my stable. I've updated EZdok to their 2.89 update, but I cannot set it up to do what I want. I'm not stupid about this since I've been simming for well over 20+ years, and I've been able to get the…

After updating to its latest beta 6616, the weather is not working as only default weather is showing no matter where the airports are. Have tried to re-install several times but still not seeing any changes. Anyone experiences the same issue?

When loading the Legacy V1 in P3D 4.2 the config panel settings don't seem to be respected. For example, if it doesn't matter if I select "Cold and Dark" or "Ready" in the config panel, the plane is loaded with Prop off and Avionics on. I even have the feeling that it loads with Props on which then rapidly goes off. I also tested other config options, like "GPS On/Off", which also has no effect. The changes I make are well saved to the files in P3dv4/Realair/legacyfsx/ Does anyone else have this issue? Any Idea how to fix? Thank you, Felix

Flickering gauges in SLI , disiepear when disable SLI or open another airacft for example FSL A320 then the MadDog. i can get rid of it if i dirty disable RealLight ( rename folder in MadDog X folder.)

Hello Pilots, I need some help on the following. I have p3dv4.2 with ORBX (global, EU LC Lowi and a lot of others) but for some reason the "hold short stop lights" do not show up at LOWI. I selected the option in the ORBX lowi configuration menu. Putting them OFF and ON does not solve the problem. I tried to resinstall LOWI, EU LC and even GLOBAL, selecting object flow 2 (On and OFF in ORBX configurator) but nothing helps. The lights just don't show up. The lights on the side (yellow) and lights in the tarmac (red and green) just do not show up. Tried to delete the shaders folder, rebuild the prepar3d.cfg... nothing helps.. Its a shame how developers in their latest products except FSLABS and others have forgotten about us 2d panel simmers. Is it really that hard and time consuming to code a set of overhead/capt dash, quadrant,pedestal and radios into the plane?? And for those of you who are ready to scream "VC! VC!" you need to understand that in our multimonitor setups ( 7 monitors in my case ) we try to build something similar to a homecockpit ( in an affordable way ) and a VC is a step backwards in realism. it is sad that big latest products like the 747 QOFTS and the Maddog dont come with proper 2d panels. Hello All, I'm on my way to JFK just prior to TOD and Autobrake switch wont stay armed springs back to disarm. It worked find on takeoff was able to to rotate to RTO then Arm the toggle switch. Is there something I'm missing? Anit-skid is armed I know with anit skid off the toggle switch will spring back to disarm. Thanks

Hi all, As the title suggests, I can't seem to select a departure procedure through the GNS 400 that comes with a2a aircraft, or with the 530 that comes with Alebeo planes. Is this something that's inherent to the P3D system or am I making a rookie error somewhere? Whenever I have a flight plan loaded and hit the PROC button, it only asks if I want to select an approach, no mention of departure anywhere. TIA!

Hello all, I am looking for some freeware aircraft for this sim. I have searched long and hard (google is NOT my friend in this instance). I have found a couple of P3Dv4 compatability topics but none of those, to my knowledge, point out freeware as such. I am not normally a tightwad and only use payware (aircraft) in FS2004. However, in P3Dv4 I am finding my Saitek Yoke, Rudder and Trim wheel are all incredibly sensitive using the default aircraft. I have adjusted sensitivity to zero and null to maximum and the slightest pull back on the yoke has the aircraft momentarily in a vertical climb ... same with the ailerons ... there does not seem to be a smooth transi…

Hello, since upgrading the 4.2, some of my addon menus (sode, gsx, active sky) fill the entire screen when they appear. I can resize them vertically but not horizontally. The ATC menu does not share this issue. Thanks for any assistance.
