There are several AI planes waiting at the Hold Short node. The first one is given departure clearance. As it starts to taxi out to the runway, the aircraft behind it is told to "hold short, caution the (aircraft type) on the runway". In other words, the second AI plane is not allowed to reach the hold short node and ask for departure clearance until the first AI plane is already in the air, and being asked to change frequencies!! It then gets permission to continue, and subsequently asks for departure clearance. The problem here is that it significantly slows down the movement of AI traffic that are departing the airport. My question is......can I do anything about …

I run p3dv4 with FreeMesh + Vector + ftx global etc.. for awhile i had an issue with cliffs near airports, runways on plateaus.. they are only that way if freemesh is enabled.. i did do the vector autoconfig and made sure test airports were set to disabled.. thinking its either a scenery order issue or something else. I did see that for fs global ultimate at least, there is a tool afm2 that will auto correct this issue.. but in the case of this freemesh that wont help, as I dont have fs global. Has anyone tackled the issue of plateaus and found a quick solution.. Could someone remind me the proper ordering/placement of the fresh mesh entries.. mine go just …

Hi all, In more recent months, I've been slowly moving from oldie goldie FS9 to P3D 3.3. Although I'll miss a lot of my FS9 addons, I have to say P3D is an absolute blast, and with things like PTA and the NGX, flight sim has never looked so real. Except for one thing, that I just can't seem to get right... Sky textures. For a while, I tried REX 4 for my sky textures. The day time textures were... alright, at best, not hugely realistic to what I've ever seen anywhere in the world, but the sunrise and sunset textures were largely attrocious, of the sets I tried. Oh dear! Just back into P3D after 6 months out, and hit my 1st major glitch before even launching sim:-( As my P3Dv4 was several versions out of date, I decided on a completely fresh install. Did it by the book. Uninstalled everything first, then deleted all remnants in the ‘users’ folder. All went well until attempting to launch, then it just sat there hanging at the opening splash screen. Left it doing that overnight, thinking it might be indexing the scenery file, but 9hrs later, it was still going. Tried again with a fresh download. Same result:-( Any ideas?

Hi, I have a bit of a strange one that has suddenly started in that when I fire up p3d, it loads straight into my pmdg 777-300 at the default airport of p3d. I've added nothing to my sim except updates to chase plane. I have also started playing around a little with simstarter ng which I suspect may be the culprit, but as I only played around with the scenery loading I can't see why that would change default aircraft load any ideas?

Greetings! It's been a long time since I last participated on this forums (used to be a regular). But I was wondering which 'must-haves' and/or essentials are used in Prepar3D v4 in terms of overall enhancements? Not talking about Aircraft add-ons, but more like, scenery and environment enhancement to increase realism, I remember what used to be popular around 2010 like OrbX's FTX, Active Sky, GEX, FSGenesis, FSDreamTeam sceneries. Are those still around? What would be the top 5 add-ons to use with P3Dv4 in 2018? or better yet, is there a guide for people that has been away for a long time? not looking for tweaks.. I have those covered :) Thanks!

Hi all When I have P3D running and I open an external program (such as vPilot, ACARS, ProjectFly Tools, Simstall) that connects with FSUIPC and simconnect. When they try to make a connection with P3D, P3D just disappears there's nothing in the AppCrash and I don't even get a "Prepar3D has stopped working" message. I tried reinstalling FSUIPC and the SimConnect modules without result. An idea on why this happens? Thanks ~DagelijksGamer P.S. Hi all, Sadly it finally got me, I am now suffering from strange hickups (stutters) in Prepar3d v4.2 that I can not get rid of anymore. The issue "started" with my update to 4.2. Furthermore, I also changed my hardware in the same time, I went from a 3770K running at 4.5GHz to a 8700K running at 5.0GHz. GPU I did not change, still using the 1080Ti. What I already tried: - reverted to defaults, both NVidia Inspector settings, NVidia control panel settings and inside P3D, all default (deleted the .cfg). - tried using VSYNC on with triple buffering both inside P3D only or via NVidia control panel and NVidia Inspector. - tried both locked and unlocked…

Hello everyone, I was using Prepar3D v3.4 but just recently I purchased Prepar3D v4.3 and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the problem of Prepar3D 4.3 changing the cruise altitude after you've entered your desired altitude. Say you want to cruise at say FL310 and then when you load the flight plan you discover that Prepar3D has changed it to say FL230 instead. I've tried changing it back to my desired cruise altitude and overwrote the flight plan but Prepar3D still switches it back after I close out the flight planner and go back to the flight planner to check if it's still at my desired cruise altitude unfortunately, I find that Prepar3D has changed it…

Hello everyone, After a few years I have started to start the flight simulation and I am catching up. I have a PC from 3 years ago but I think it is a very powerful machine and should be able to play to the maximum or practically to the maximum in P3D V4. The problem is that if I put everything to the maximum I go from 5 to 8 FPS. So for now I have had to loosen several things. I would like to know if someone can help me set it up better than I do now and that it can work at a correct FPS. The current config gives me a 25-35 FPS. Hi guys, I have the following problem: I started at EDDM down to LPMA. I had clouds at Munich... arriving at LPMA I see no clouds, so I check the ASN App -> Thunderstorms and it says "Connected to P3D". I also have winds... but totally clear skies. No thunderstorm at all. So I closed P3D and reloaded at LPMA -> big fast thunderstorm. This is the second time I am missing weather at the destination airport :-( Someone got an idea? Greetings

Anybody tried WOAI traffic in P3D v4? I did ....copied the relevant files from P3D3. The aircraft show up but their body is black (not the tails though...) even with shadows unselected on simobjects.. Does anyone have a suggestion to solve this issue? Thanks

Just purchased QW 787 and tried to apply the Tomato default reflection for it. Everything looks good except the engine inlet cowl (the silver part) at night Picture Here. For those who own and have been flying this aircraft with Tomato shade, is it normal or I am doing something wrong?

Can't seem to post a new topic at SOH, so wonder if anyone can help here. Is there a magic combination of settings needed to get the copilot (and stewardess) voices in the latest version of the C-47? All other sounds work in P3D V4 for me, but when I click on the callouts on the shift-5 menu, there's no greeting and nothing is said when I start a checklist. I have use a pilots voice selected in the sims sound settings, but can't see anything else relevant? The interphone switch changes when I click on the setting, just there's no sound?
