This might be a bit involved for a flight sim topic, but I've noticed that the stock ATC for P3D will give you inappropriate altitude assignments on IFR approaches. The thing I see it do regularly is assigning an altitude below the MSA (minimum safe/sector altitude) on an approach, and/or assigning an altitude below that specified in the approach plate. At my home airport it regularly gives me an altitude assignment 800 feet below what is specified on the approach plate at the IAF. I wondered if using an ATC addon might help with these types of problems, but the programs are expensive. Any thoughts, comments, ideas? Thanks!

Several weeks ago I finally purchased and installed Prepar3D V4.5 I got very involved in setting up my scenery and finding the sweet spots for performance. Yesterday I finally tried out the ATC system only to find that I seem to have a problem. After creating a flight plan and loading it when I attempt to contact clearance delivery or ATIS nothing happens, no voice or text message either across the screen or in the ATC box. As I click each request in the box it moves on the next as though I have interacted with the system when I have not. ATIS to clearance delivery, to ground control, to tower . So, I just got a brand new PC. Did a fresh install of windows and Prepar3D. Everything fresh. I started installing all the addons and then when I tried to choose an airport and not the default one it crashed. I of course tried other airports and not just one. The default one works perfect. I'm running the latest windows and the latest Prepar3D version. I'm starting P3D as administrator. I'll put a screenshot what it says in the event viewer. When i load the sim, i wanted to select a weather preset. I press "clear skies" then P3D freezes, then crashes. The faulting module was facilities.dll and this started happening after installation of the Milviz Bell 407. I uninstalled it, and the sim actually worked this time. **Edit** got this fixed by removing p3d generated files and uninstalling the Bell 407.

Good evening guys I looked everywhere around the forum, but it seems to me I'm the only one having this problem 😕 So, I went from PTA to try Tomatoshade as it looked quite promising on the screenshots I saw. I followed the instructions, loaded up one of the presets that came with it, but now after I load up an scenery I only get a black screen and just the sound of the engines of my plane. I'm using P3DV4.5 and the last version of Tomatoshade, but I haven't installed the Hotfix for 4.5 and when I updated from 4.4, I just updated the Client. I don't know if that might be the issue. Hello Since upgrading to P3D v4.5 (also with HF1), I see some anomalies at different Airports from different Payware Manufacturers. Based on how you pan the camera, the anomaly is getting bigger or smaller, as seen below on EDDH from JustSim. Has anyone seen anything like this? When looking up close at the Airport, the Anomaly mostly has the Shape of an Airport Building / Object. Yesterday I had this in LPFR from Tropicalsim, however with the Outline of a Fence, floating around when moving the camera. Thank you in Advance!

Hello all, I have recently purchased p3d liscense and I am really excited go discover what it has to offer. However, I am little worried because I have bought a ton of addons for fsx. Now I know about the migration tool but does not know what all addons of fsx it supports to be converted to p3d addons. here is the list of my addons that i am worried about. 1. Ezdok 2. F1 Gtn compelete 3. Orbx global 4. FSDT GSX 5. PMDG 777/ 737/ 747 6. Imaginesim VIDP/ VHHH/ 7. My Traffic X 5.4c Professional Please Let me know if I can convert these to P3D version. thanks!

Hi all, I'm considering to buy the combo ENVTEX & ENVSHADE. I've watched videos and screenshots and read users feedback. The price, simplicity and colours seem fine to me. However I am a bit reluctant because: - Some addon support teams say that it is best to avoid addons that modify shaders (eg. ENVSHADE) because they can cause conflicts - I'm not knowledgeable with shaders so I don't want to tweak or fix in case of problem - I saw some recent posts by users having ENVDIR problem with the recent versions of P3D (I'm running 4.4) - I read that some users had some serious difficulties to uninstall ENVTEX & ENVSHADE I'm wondering i…

Hi Mates, I have the PMDG 777 and I'm eager to fly a 787, typically the QualityWings'one. I like a lot the shape of the plane, the nose, the body, the reactors... of the real plane and also the rendition by QualityWings. The cockit layout and textures (grey) is also modern and classy. What really refrains me from getting a 787 is the the look and feel of the PFD, EICAS, MFD, FMC. I'm not fan at all. In my view, the displays have a toyish look. And the colours are not harmonious compared to the displays of the 777. I know it's not the fault of Quality Wings, that is how it is in the real plane. Hi all, I have recently bought a new PC to get back into flight sim. I’ve bought p3d and installed a few addons. I get around 20-25 FPS at flytampa EHAM in a PMDG 738 some addons installed: Active sky + asca, ORBX global base, and ultimate traffic live Forgive my ignorance, but I thought I would be getting better frames than I currently get with this rig. Am I missing anything or do I need to adjust anything? The strange thing about the performance is that even with the low frames, my cpu and gpu usage stays below 30-40%. I have tried adjusting some sliders but none of them really make an impact. any help would be really helpful, thanks! …

Hello I just tried to install the airport RKSI of Overland in the P3D v4.5 so far it worked out. But at night all Edelights are missing and also the taxi lights do not illuminate the ground. Does anyone have this problem ?? By day it looks so good! Best Torsten

Grass, trees, shrubs all are light, yellowish-green, and look like something out of coloring book. Only at high altitudes do things look "real". I have tried several PTA settings and have ENVTEX/ENVSHADE plus REX airports, Shaders folder has been deleted twice but no improvement regardless of various tweaks to the above. Latest P3Dv4.5 Advice please: Uninstall add-ons? Uninstall/reinstall P3D Scenery? (ditto Client?) other options? Hey all- I am returning to the simulator after a few years hiatus. I am wrapping up my real world instrument ticket and want to work through some more complex approaches before I take my checkride. With that, I have a few fundamental questions about my sim setup. Early last spring I installed v4.2 after a long break. This was a fresh install along with all ORBX products and my favorite GA planes. I see now that P3D is on v4.5. Is it a safe move to do the component upgrade versus the full uninstall of everything and reinstall? Hey Guys: I'm having problems with my Kenningston Wireless trackball mouse, it has worked without any problems for the past 2x years with FSLabs but now it does not want to work properly after the download of the new P3DV4.5 HotFix & FSLabs Build. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, I've check the Kenningston website to see if there was an update but it's the same driver version 1.3.1. The issue I'm having is when I turn the setings knob on the FCU for instance altitude, or heading or speed it scrolls past 5K, then 10K, then 25K and I'm just scrolling the wheel one click. Default KORD is horrible. Anyone have DRZ KORD? They make great stuff. So does FSDT. Should I buy KORD from DRZ. design or wait 1 to 24 months for FSDT?

I deleted P3D4.4 entirely (so I thought) and installed a clean 4.5. All seems to go well. But: 1. I still have freezing on occasion- with the picture.. although I have plenty of memory. I have a new Alienware R-& desktop. Something has just started happening. When the engines are running I can engage and disengage the parking brake (ctrl + .). But when the engines are off the keypress doesn't work to either engage or disengage. For instance, in the PMDG 737 I can manually disengage the brake within the cockpit, hear the click and see the brake disengage but looking at the bottom of the screen you can see that they're still engaged and keypresses won't work. As soon as I start the engines, all is well again. Help please!

So apparently Microsoft is getting back into the flight sim community with a new simulator made for PC and Console. They dubbed it Flight Sim 2019. There is a trailer on YouTube if you’re interested in looking for yourself. The first thought that came to my mind was “oh looooorrrrd” 😂. But hey, more competition I guess? I imagine they swooped in and snatched the Dovetail simulator back and they’ve been tweaking on it this whole time without telling anyone. Any thoughts on this? I’m sure there will be some mixed feelings since Microsoft screwed everyone whenever they pulled the rug out from underneath the community years ago. That must have left a bad taste....
