When I try to go to John Day airport in Oregon (KGCD formerly 5J0) I get both airports, one on top of the other. 5J0 is the Orbx John Day Airport and it looks like it is the operative one because it's on the surface. But I can't find KGCD anywhere on my computer. I disabled 5J0 in the Orbx scenery and only KGCD comes up. But it is on a plateau about 500 feet above the surrounding terrain. When both airports are enabled 5J0 appears under KGCD. The problem is I can't find KGCD anywhere on my computer. Hello there, I have been having this issue at OLBA airport, Beirut, and it has started bugging me a bit. Basically, in the PMDG 777, upon descent, you select you STAR and approach. For example, at Beirut, they use ILS16 for arriving aircraft. However, in P3D v5, when using the PMDG 777, I only have the options for RNAV, LOC and visual approaches. There is no option to select an ILS approach in the arrival page of the FMC. Weirdly enough, I am able to select ILS approaches at major airports such as OMDB or EGLL. In addition to this, I am, nevertheless, able to select an ILS approach at OLBA on runway 16 in the FSLabs A32X series. Now, I am unsure if this is an error due to…

Hello, I got a crash at LHBP (LHSimulations) gate R273 when deboarding an Aerosoft A320 IAE (Wizz Air). The first bus went OK, but before the second one arrived Couatl crashed. So after I departed from EKCH and was really annoyed with the Volumetric clouds, because it just changed suddenly again from cloudy to clear skies! A real immersion breaker! So I installed REX clouds and put max cloud layers to 9 in Active Sky, the result is great! EA is enabled. I have a much better weather environment now and FPS is great! (Also just bought a RTX 3060 12GB VRAM 😎)

I will explain my situation.I recently purchased p3d version 5.2, rex, orbx base pack, chaseplane, open mesh south america, FSLABS 320, gsx and gsx level 2 and I am encountering a problem that I effectively can not solve after several tests performed. I have all the major simulators on the market today and only with the prepar I am having the problem that I will describe now. From the simulator without any add-on included I have noticed that p3d is using 80-100% CPU and 5-13% GPU. I am using Prep3dv4 along with FSUIPC and have the A2A Cessna 182 in my fleet. When flying the aircraft and operating the Autopilot Buttons they do not light up. The button works correctly i.e. the heading button goes in and out when clicked and the heading mode comes in ok but the button does not light up. Does anyone else have the same problem or know how to make them light up?.

Hello All, recently in my sim (P3dv5.2,) I have been getting major performance hits when rendering clouds with an RTX2070 and a ryzen 7 2700x at 4.3GHz. I'm using REX clouds with an EA sky, and the draw distance is at 90 with maximum coverage, 3 cloud layers in ASP3D, and auto resolution in REX. My FPS w/o clouds is around 45-55 but when clouds come in the FPS drops to 20-25. I have tried deleting shaders, ShadersHLSL, reinstalling client/content, using DDU to revert to old drivers, and changing REX settings to no avail. In V4 or 5.1 this was never an issue, clouds had little to no impact on my fps. Shadows are on but rendering distance is only at medium. A…

I’ve had the last week off and decided to give A Pilot’s Life a try. I figured it would be interesting because it’s sim-agnostic, in that I can complete flights in P3D or MSFS. I got a job with Alitalia Cityliner and have racked up flights around Italy as well as Switzerland and Germany. It’s been good fun, and has given me a chance to brush up on a few aircraft that have been languishing in my hangar for a while. One thing I’ve noticed is that for airline flying, I’ve been enjoying flying in P3D more than MSFS. I really don’t miss the MSFS scenery much above 10,000 ft, and I’m usually fairly busy after takeoff and preparing for landing when I’m at lower altitudes anyw…

Fully installed V5.2HF1, made a couple of flights - totally happy. However, I found out that my Nvidia drivers haven't been updated since Oct 2020? Should I update (some performance gains perhaps) or stay with the current set? Thanks

Hey guys...so the last few weeks or so, my sim has started to slow down. Seems like my frames are running in the low 20's at best, and then the mid teens when I'm at a big airport with a 3rd party addon, weather, or ai traffic. Not sure what I can do to fix this and speed it up a bit. I haven't installed anything new or tweaked any settings. Before a few weeks ago, I would be in the 30fps range if not more. Hey everyone, When I try flying the FSlabs It loads and after a few minutes of being loaded It just crashes to desktop. I don't click anything specific and there are no error messages. I also don't see anything out of the ordinary in the P3D error reporting .txt file in Prepar3D v5 Files. Any help appreciated!

I am in shock, were i could run v5.1hf Orbx netherlands etc at an easy 50 FPS !!!!!!! ( no vc) I am now struggeling to run at 30. Very dissapointed. Have tried: Other nvidia drivers Reinstall Other MB drivers. Other settings inside p3d It seems like the 10900k (5.2ghz) only runs at one core. Sometimes the other cores are joining in but mostly one core at 100 pct...... RTX 3070 runs at 65 pct. I give up.

Hi all, I have been going through the process of re-installing everything. I had to format Win 10 as it had developed a nasty habit of crashing. Since formatting this has gone, not sure what happened there. But my P3D install was borked aswell. All the usual things didnt fix it, like deleting Prepar3d.cfg, deleting shaders, disabling all addons with Lorby AO, even delete generated files did not fix it. So that just made me format and start fresh. Anyhow I came to re-installing Tongass Fjords and while on the RTMM site I noticed that they have a new package which will install ALL of their addon airports in 1 go, using the addon XML method. hi community, everything worked fine and stable, but 2 days ago, P3D v4.5 suddenly CTD again and again. I checked WIN10 updates (no updates available) and other parameters, because I did not change anything in the days before. P3D CTD at different times, after 80% of loading, after 100% loading and pushing back, or after a longer flight while taxing in. do you have any suggestions what might be the problem ? thanks, steff

Hello All, For some reason the initial planning screen in P3D v4.5 started to display incorrectly. It just started doing it one day and does it every time in different ways with graphics showing oversized in the wrong place blocking out needed buttons etc. Clicking any button will cause further problems. Does anyone know why? I have a screenshot but don't seem to be able to attach it to this post. Regards, Stephen Shallcross.

Hi everyone, I'm not sure whether this is just an issue with the Flight1 Super King Air B200 or a feature in Prepar3d. However, when I reduce speed to below 157kts, the flaps automatically extends fully without any input (uncommanded). Can anyone assist? Thanks

Over at Simmarket they have new Flylogic P3D scenery for Lugano, Buochs, Bern, Sion, St. Gallen, and a few others. Does anyone have any of these sceneries? If so how are they? I ask because the screenshots the posted do not look like they are from P3D (they look like FSX screenshots). I had these sceneries when I had FS9 and I liked them.
