I posted this over in the Prepar3d forums and thought I'd post it here too. Just trying to get some answers before giving P3D 5 another try. When P3D 5 came out, I purchased it and really enjoyed it with some caveats. I updated to 5.1 and continued to mostly enjoy it, however two problems eventually forced me to revert back to 4.5. First, the shimmering! It was much worse in 5.1 than 4.5. Has this shimmering problem been corrected in 5.2 hf1? Second, DXGI crashes. 4.5 is rock solid for me, where with 5.1 I was experiencing these crashes far too often. Has 5.2 hf1 eliminated these crashes? Thank you.

Hi everyone I haven’t flown the PMDG NGXu for a while until today. When i did try and use the charts section in the EFB, it asked for my Navigraph login. I unfortunately made a mistake with the login several times before i got it right but now the EFB says its a fault every time i log back into the charts section. It gives a message that it is unable to verify my identity or similar. My Navigraph charts app is working on both my ipad and desktop. Does anyone know how to reset this so i can log in and get the charts working again in the NGXu?

I’d like some thoughts on using this. How much does it add to the visuals, is it complicated, and what about a toll on resources? Thanks.

I have updated 5.2 with HF using client and content updater. But not scenery since I have ORBX Global+Vector and some regions and airports. So I think updating scenery will overwrite (corrupt) ORBX. Is that correctly understood ?

Hey Guys. With the sale I'm considering these two. All of my flying is airline flying. Anybody have these and would you recommend?

Any other reports of framerates that drop significantly over time. I am getting great framerates at the start of the flight (QW 787, PMDG 747) but over time the framerates drop to single digits. The is kind of a stutter drop ever 4 or 5 seconds. so the frames will be 30, 35, 40, 50 and the down to 6, 7 and then back up again. Really annoying and I cannot figure out what is causing this problem. My settings are middle of the road in my opinion, no higher than in v4. I have ES Beta on but does not seem to matter if I turn it off. So far no CTD or running out of VM (1080Ti).

It seems that starting from version 5.2, P3D has become very CPU-intensive, and has reduced its dependence on GPU. Previously, the CPU usage was only about 65%. Now the CPU will continue to work at 100% under cloudy conditions. I use FSlabs from WFSS product ZSPD——ZSNJ. The reason for consuming CPU may be too many ground buildings or too many volume clouds.

Updating through EnvDir. EnvShade now fixes the too much atmosphere scattering when using V5.2. regards, Gerard

Is this a change in 5.2 or do I have something wrong. The Alt key should display the menu but mine doesn't. If I right click and uncheck "display menu" the menu displays and then the Alt key will hide the menu. My searches are producing nothing, so anything you can suggest would be appreciated. And, where is that HTML5 setting. Does that have anything to do with my issue? Is that a .cfg entry? Thanks for any help. Just trying to catch up. Jesse

Greetings all! I posted this on the P3D forum, but am doing so here as well, hoping to find an answer. I am generally satisfied with the HF, with one exception. In external view, when I pan around my aircraft, stripes appear with Volumetric Clouds activated. This is what I mean and thanks in advance for any comments or advice. Sherm

In V5.1 this was fixed and now it is back. That has not changed. Where are the cumulus and Omnicumulus clouds ? Today, Win11 was pushed as scheduled, and I updated it. After the update, P3D V5.2 works well. It is hoped that LM can solve the terrain penetration problem caused by volumetric clouds in the near HF1.

That's what I'm looking for. I fancy recording a set of my own but my experiments haven't gotten the desired "intercom" attenuated sound. If anyone is familiar with Audacity (great free sound editing program) and wants to share the trick, I'd appreciate it. (If I get a good set I would be happy to share, too.) I'm looking for something that sounds like the Captain Sim announcements, or Simsounds. (I wonder if devs think English spoken with a BBC accent is fine for American domestic flights?) I’ve found a few default airports in P3D v5.x don’t appear until the Scenery Complexity is set to Very Dense. This was not a problem in v4 where they did. There are probably loads. Hi Everyone just wondering who is using the Imaginesim KLGA scenery and how do you find it? Considering picking it up but if there are issues I would appreciate any guidance and understanding what i am purchasing.

Hello simmers, Is anyone using the latest beta build of MSI Afterburner with V5.2? And if so is it working fine without crashing your sim. I’m not near my Pc at the moment that’s why I’m asking here. Thanks

Since the update to 5.2 I have a black aircraft preview in the simulator settings window. If go into the vehicle select menu and select it again, it is shown. I think I had this before when 5.0 came out and after a while it just went away. Everything else runs fine. I have no problems with graphics. It doesn't matter which aircraft. It's with all. I have the latest NVidia driver and updated Windows 10. Dan

Is anyone using SimSounds? If so, how does it work well with FS2Crew in terms of the cabin crew? Does it work with PMDG aircraft other than the 737? Thank you!

Hi, I have just purchased VOR MEXICO STUDIOS - MMMX MEXICO CITY ADD-ON FOR TAXI2GATE MMMX XTREME from Simmarket. When extracting files, it says it requires a password. There is no indication where this password is located. Anyone have any idea? I've also emailed their customer support. Thanks, Ben
