How realistic are your colors in the latest update? My water looks "cartoonish blue"! I have never seen it that blue. Should I reinstall Scenery or any of the other modules? Stan

Hi everybody, Is there a guide or can someone explain to me about these options in P3D? For the weather I'm using ASP3D + ASCA + TOGA + Envshade, which option should I tick? How does vsync + triple buffering + variable refresh rate affect the simulator? I'm using 25inch 280hz monitor so which one should I tick? I've done some searching (and looking into P3D Learning Center) but still not so clear, sorry if this has been covered before. Cheers, Hoang

It used to coincide pretty closely with the real world in FSX and earlier versions of P3D, but perhaps since P3D5 the dawn/dusk are occurring like 30min late/early and transition bit quickly. The new included city street lights seem to turn on/off correctly for the outside light while the sim sky is full dark which indicates the underlying system is still running as before while something has broken in adding the new EA layer with both the EA on/off sky system. Is there any settings than can be tweaked to get the sky to match the real thing more closely again? In initial versions of P3D5 the sky used to begin transitioning correctly but weirdly reverse again to start over…

Full install of 5.3. Fresh install of Airbuses 318/319, 320/321. External lights not working. Only the wing light. Airbus 330 works fine. Anyone else have this problem? PMDG, A2A work fine.

The recent release has me wondering what it would take to get my current version 5.1.12.x up to the latest, newly released version. The P3D website describes the new version as an update. Is it? Update from what? None of this is clear (to me; as I'm easily confused). I miss my Maddog, A320x and the PMDG aircraft. And as much as I hate the fiddly nature of P3D, I'm longing have access to the aforementioned aircraft. Is it that I simply need to purchase P3D yet again? Instruct me, please.

Just updated to 5.3 from 5.2. Decided to uninstall the whole thing instead of just doing the client and content. Now it seems that Prepar3d starts but with nothing showing on the screen. I can hear sound and it shows that it's running in Task Manager but only see my desktop. The only thing I've tried so far is letting the prepar3d.cfg rebuild. Didn't work. Any help would be appreciated. Steve Giblin

Well, seeing as MK thinks development for P3D is dead, I went and bought a couple of add-ons (not from Aerosoft of course) just to support another Dev directly.

With LTFM on sale now at Simmarket, does anyone know if there is a configuration option with the airport to add static aircraft at the gates? The airport looks great, but my understanding is that there is no AI traffic file included. I am okay with simply having static planes, but an empty airport would look odd. Cheers, Pete

Hi Team, Been having an issue with CTD when I switch airports. It takes me three or four times to get the sim to start working. I have tried building a new CFG and deleted new sceneries. I have tried other tips I've seen over the forums but nothing is working. I figure I would ask in this forum before I completely uninstall sceneries, aircraft, and other tools. Hello, I'm having some issues with cloud base altitudes, when trying to create a low ceiling overcast cloud base is higher by 500ft to 1000ft than it should. I've discovered the issue while using active sky real live weather when on approach to an airport with OVC008 but broke out of the clouds at around 1800ft. The problem can be replicated easily when using either AS real live weather, AS manual weather or P3D weather menu (no AS at all) and with different graphic settings (EA on, EA on with volumetric clouds off and EA off - each setting creates a different offset). So I posted this on the P3D official forums, but dear god I am hoping AVSIM peeps can be a little more helpful than the super vague chorus that drags the topic off into the wilderness there. About every 10 seconds, and always at cruise and until landing, I'll get 2 little microstutters every ten seconds, about 1 second apart. They last for 1-2 seconds at most but it is... jarringly bad. I'm using AIG and after upgrading to 5.3, I have default AI back alongside real world airlines. I've asked this question before, but can't find the original post, how do I delete the default 'fake' AI airlines? Thanks

Hello, I performed yesterday a clean installation of p3d v5.3. I installed ORBX Global, Europe LC, Buildings etc but noticed that they are not added automatically to the addon list, as in previous version (add-ons.cfg). The same is happening for AIG, AIG Traffic controller. Any hint on what could be causing this issue? Thanks!

Hi guys, A few days ago, I returned to P3D after a long break and went on a shopping spree. I purchased Orbx ESSA, LYBE, EFHK and LOWI, Simwings EGLL and EDDF, FlyTampa EHAM and Taxi2Gate LFPG. I have an i7 processor and a GTX 1080ti card, 16 GB ram and M2 SSD, and spent a long time optimizing my sim to have amazing visuals and performance until I found my perfect sweet spot. Then sadly, I found out that dynamic lights at some airports is done with an extremely bad optimization tanking FPS by more than 50-70% in some cases. Having come back to the hobby after an almost 10 year break, I have not been kept up to date very much with the latest developments and addons. I am flying the Maddog MD-82 around Europe (P3D V5), and would like to know your opinion on what the best scenery for LEMD (Madrid Barajas), and ESSA (Stockholm Arlanda) is. I have noticed that for LEMD there seems to be two options. One is Simwings and the other LatinVFR.
