Hi Can someone tell me, what could cause the CTD, when i select the new option motionblur? I asked this in the P3D forum but got no answer so far. What is the benefit or backdraw using it? I just wanted to test, what new options they gave us but it crashes my sim and I have to manually reset it to motioblur=0 in the prepar3d.cfg before i restart the sim, otherwise it crashes as soon as I leave the GUI and get into the graphic surface of the sim. The title says it all... I can replicate a ctd every time I click in the 777-ER EFB. Yeah, my shiny new 777 'expansion'. Does NOT happen in any other PMDG airframe. NGXu, and the 77L run just fine. Brand new Win11 rig running P3D 5.3 with no other errors / CTD's. Anyone else ? I'd appreciate hearing from other 772 Captains. I want to understand if this is a Win11 thing, or some other issue other than the EFB in the 772. thanks,,

Help appreciated, From several month now, I find the processor 0 is always at 100%, despite "modest" parameters values considering my medium high configuration... As I am making a clean install of Prepar3d V5.3, I decided to go step by step and check what's going on. To my surprise, (after moving MainThreadScheduler to 2 to verify), I see the MainThread at 100% already from the scenario screen ! Nothing else installed ! Does anybody see this strange behavior ? Boeing Field (KBFI) in Orbx PNW in P3Dv5.3 is covered with trees and houses. These weren't present in P3Dv5.2. Had anyone else seen this? Noel

Not sure how to explain this but I just updated from 5.1 to 5.3 and everything is looking fine. Only strange thing I noticed so far the flood lights at FB Denver. When I pan around the light effect is like steps in the light outline. If you look above the red line I made you can see how the lights are displaying a step effect. It's not like that on the ground, just on the buildings. I made a sample video here. I'm not using Enhanced Atmospheric.

After enduring the torture of P3D V5.2 HF2 for 5 months, we finally ushered in P3D V5.3. After going through the new installation, let's talk about its improvement and improvement. There is a small improvement in performance, and there is no substantial improvement in the number of frames, and some stuttering phenomena have been fixed. Hello, hoping someone could help, I did a full install of v5.3 and I seem to have lost all ATC sounds, text is there but no ATC or pilot sounds. ty

The last two updates, using the full installer, about 25 GB is eaten up in my system drive even though my install is on my D.I have searched all through my C drive to see if any duplicate files were left from version 5.2. after the upgrade to 5.3. Could find no reason for more disk space to be used after a simple upgrade for the same sim. I have a 237GB SSD for my C and went from 55GB free down to about 25GB after the upgrade. I managed to get about 8GB back by cleaning my windows/temp folder, running my disk cleanup, optimizing tool, emptying recycle bin. I now have only 33.1 GB left. I did a content uninstall of version 5.2 and then used the full installer to ins…

I use AIG AI Manager and TC for my AI traffic. After I updated FlyTampa EHAM to v.2 I saw that most of my AI traffic at the airport was missing. I thought it was a connection between the update and the missing traffic, but I am not sure now. I experience now that most of the AI traffic is missing at all airports. At the same time as I updated EHAM, it was an update of both AIG AI Manager and TC.I have the last update of both. I have tried to get help from AIG forum, but no one has answered my questions. Am I the only one who has experienced to loose almost all AI traffic, or has anyone else experienced the same lately? Does anyone have a solution to get the AI traffic bac…

Wondering if anyone knows if there is any scenery config type editor to add scenery to V5? I've tried the current one by repathing to V5 but unfortunately it screws up the scenery config. Seems the file now appears to be type UCS-2 LEBOM. Not interested in xml. Thanks

I find the new P3D very touchy when trying to change anything. If on the start screen I try to go to options, it ctd's, when loaded if I try to change a/c it ctd's or try to add scenery, again ctd. Anyone else? John

I have installed the excellent Global AI Ship Traffic by Henrik Nielsen using the add-on.xml method into P3Dv5 with great results! No issues that I can see so far. Here's some screen shots around Boston.

Yesterday I installed the new P3Dv5.3 scenery. I deleted P3D v5 and installed the new one as a fresh scenery. I had moved my old scenery and aircraft files to a temporary folder and then copied them into the new P3D installation. I started it up and everything seemed fine. It was going through the adding sceneries to the library thing and when I got done everything was OK except Orbx Northern California didn't show up. All the Orbx Northern California cities were there, but not the main Northern California scenery. Orbx showed it as loaded but it wasn't there. So I unloaded it through the Orbx installer and reinstalled it. Still no joy. The scenery wouldn't …

I'll try here on Avsim, I would just like to know if anybody else has or is experiencing a long pause during take off roll from Rwy16 at Orbx YMML? I've had this long pause for as long as I can remember in P3dv4.5 at the same place, during take off roll from rwy16, as I approach rwy27 there is a huge pause, I've had different AI packages no change, now using AIG, always used ASP3D, P3d has been installed many times for different reasons, no change, all scenery has been reinstalled many times, no change, default YMML the pause is after I've just crossed rwy 27 but it's still there. Is anyone having issues trying to install P3Dv5.3? I am starting to get frustrated. I did a clean uninstall of 5.2 and I downloaded the full package from the website. The next day, after the download was complete, I was having issues unzipping the file. When I used 7-zip to unzip the file I found the file with many files missing, mainly scenery.cab's. Last night I installed the missing files from the website individually, and then when I tried running the scenery installer it said something about Scenery3.cab was not digitally signed? Then I found out the setup.p3d was actually not downloaded and when I tried to use it (in the same file as the other files where it should …

I downloaded and installed the Academic license for P3Dv5.3 and realized it had installed into C:\Program Files. that's OK my mistake. Then I opened the Control Panel to Uninstall and Reinstall to C:\ drive I saw some very surprising Installed File sizes: P3D Academic: 90.1GB P3D Client: 358mb P3D Content 18.6GB P3D Scenery 40.7GB I have no Addons installed yet. I thought the total disk space used was supposed to be around 35GB - 40GB. If I take the 90.1GB less Client, Content and Scenery, the net would be 30.4GB, which is what I would expect the entire install to be. My available SSD disk space was around 170GB. Does anyone know why P3D has this blue haze everywhere? This is taken using P3d 5.2 but it appears the same in 5.3. (EA on) With EnvShade on or off it appears to be about the same, although I admit I could have a setting off somewhere - this 'blueness' appears to be there nonetheless. Anyone know how to kill it?

Hello, some Errors in scenery now after update from 5.2HF1 to 5.3 the Program run fine but we get an "scenery Dat File Error". We have backup data from Lorby, which cfg-files should we restore to repair this? i think its "addon.cfg", in C:\ProgramData.. P3DV5 "scenery.cfg" in C:\ProgramData.. P3DV5 "addon.cfg", in C:\users\..raoming\...P3DV5 are there more configuration files which should be corrected ore restored? thanks for your information.

I’ll admit I’ve owned the license for this for years along with XP11 but haven’t touched P3D in years but this 5.3 has me VERY intrigued - performance on my new PC seems decent and usually quite smooth if I tone down my settings and lock to 30 FPS (I should add I use all the Orbx TE regions as I’ve grown addicted to orthoimagery). A few questions.. Question 1 - my terrain elevations are all over the place and morph into shape even as I’m flying over them. What setting controls this, or is this just a P3D thing? Question 2 - When flying I’ll be zooming along smooth as glass at a locked 30 FPS then there is a jerk/pause (usually accompanied by a HDD r…

Hello, Just did a full installation of v 5.3 plus the new ActiveSky Beta 8005 ( cleared shaders, P3d.cfg etc) Noticed that my visibility is defaulted to unlimited and changing settings in AS have no effect. Everything is defaulted to unilimited. Changing VolFog settings has no effect. This is with EA off and Custom weather mode selected in AS Also done a complete re-install of ASN and P3d. Anybody having this issue of am i missing something? (5.2 HF1 works fine) thank you

Has anybody installed it yet? If so, what do you think? I have it downloaded but there is no txt file with installation instructions. Do I have to uninstall P3Dv5.2 first or will they fit side by side? Noel
