We moved the Crash to Desktop (CTD) and 'All About Us' sub-forums to the AVSIM Fixed Based Operations (FBO) Section today. They were formerly located as sub-forums to the FSX Forum. It will make it easier for members to locate the CTD Forum and allow members to post crashes not only while using FSX but any flightsim. I was flying my from KHPN to KBOS in the stock Carenado when somewhere near PUT I got the first OOM I have ever gotten in either FSX or P3D v2,x. The autogen sliders for both buildings and vegetation were maxed out, mesh only set at 10 meters. Building shadows were on but vegetation shadows were off. I was over forested terrain. What a shame. Otherwise 2.1 has seemed a definite improvement to me (except for the gps not working in some third party planes, but that is another issue).

After a nice start with a clean install of P3D v2.1, the tides have turned. Tonight I had two CTDs of unknown origin. The only addon installed is ORBX FTX Global. I even had Windows tell me that it has applied compatibility settings to the program (Win 7 64 Pro) after the last CTD. Sadly I have to give up on P3D v2 for now. I'm too busy for more beta testing. I'm back to 1.4 for now. The program Prepar3D.exe version 2.1.9936.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. Started this for those of us having stutters after the 2.1 update. I gottem. Cant get rid of them. See my specks. fsx runs great. Wanted to move to p3d .

I deleted all the Key asignments, also all the joystick assignments and only has the Saitek rudder pedals assigned to brakes. All my other planes work fine , but the A2A 172 has brakes ON all the time and if I push the brakes they are still ON or I get the differential brake message. Any ideas?

Hi Guys, Have had to reformat my HD after fine-tuning my FSX system since 2010 and I"m wondering which add-ons I should reload and which I should forget. Just before the computer t.a.p. (took a poop) I was having some elevation problems between some ORBX scenery (alaska) and some of my previous add ons. What I had installed was the following: FS Genesis Mesh Ultimate Terrain X (UTX) Ultimate Alaska Ground Environment X (GEX) Real Environment Extreme Overdrive All ORBX North America scenery areas and many individual airports Vancouver Glacier Bay Tongas Fiords Plan G Etc. Hey guys. I've just made the swap over to P3D yesterday. It's really looking good, but I'm having some small issues. Specifically, the sim crashes after loading up when at a certain airport. So far I've only had problem with ENCN (Kristiansand Norway). It kinda came out of nowhere, and now I can only get it to load if I load a flight from elsewhere and then select ENCN as a reload. I had installed UT Europe and patched it to 1.5. I also had installed Airports of Norway. I removed both of them, but still no go. I also have a fault in the scenery.cfg after I removed UTE (area 126 and 127 missing). The crash is like this: the loading bar goes up to 100%. Then my sc…

So with the latest 2.1 version of Prepar3d finally out, I'm wondering when and which developers will start releasing P3D-only aircraft. without having to make concessions to having them work alongside FSX. Now I know there has been alot of pros and cons with this v2.1 but I still feel it is finally ready to take over from FSX. We are all probably still keeping FSX on our systems because of the hundreds (or thousands) of dollars we have invested for addons. I, for one, am looking forward to that first aircraft that will come out with P3D and only P3D in mind, without worrying that some feature may not work because of the aforementioned concessions. I have EZCA setup and working in P3Dv2 but whenever I change views with a hotkey the screen flashes black very briefly. It works but it's very distracting. Has anybody else seen this?

No early response over at p3d forum so trying here. I have done a full reinstall of v2.1,deleting what remnant directories remained after uninstalling 2.0. On starting p3d I get the old full throttle, left rudder bug which can be fixed for that flight by juggling saitek yoke quadrant throttle control and applying full brakes. I got this issue in 2.o but it cleared after my first exit/reboot from p3d. But there is more...... I knew not to even bother asking this on the FTX forum since I knew the answer would either be no, or we dont support using FTXG in that manner, or the post might even get deleted, hence the reason I ask here. Although I have yet to purchase, it doesn't seem like this would be something impossible to do, or would it? So what I am wondering if it would be possible to do this with FTXG? Hi all, I fly all the time in photoscenery with no autogen and have done for some time. I have done a full reinstall following all the recommendations from LM on here and their site, and although I did not have many problems with 2.0 that some had, I did have the stutters so went for the full install when it became available. It might just be me but is anyone else who fly's with megasceneryearth v2 USA noticed that the scenery seems to lag a little. If I hit pause, the scenery only comes back into focus after about 10 - 15 seconds. It didn't do this in 2.0. Hello fellow simmers, Does anybody have a normal working atc in prepar3dv2.1? I have tried making a flight in the flight planner as a vfr and when i start the flight and open the atc window, the "contact ground" response is there and when i click it it just tells me about options like departure to the north and all that but no vfr following. its like i didnt make any flight plan? anyone else? thanks in advance

Going to be nstalling my 2.1 prepar3d upgrade and then the Orbx AU scenery. which I just got I already have FTX global installed (do I need to switch the FTX global off?trouble is I can't figure out how to? - within FTX central I just have the arrow icon and it has a green tick but can't figure out how to disable it?) I am guessing I also need to disable Rex4 and the migration tool also before doing the installs?

Fairy simple really, I select to install the patch, it validates, then I get the following message 'Could not write value Complete to key\Products\A8FF3B2933C3CFE458D0FC925E24299D\Features. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel' I have the original install sitting on its own drive (P) and its the only thing on that drive. Any ideas anyone? How to get the most realistic clouds ? I've tried different variations (textures and settings) but don`t get good results - part of the clouds are too dark in day time (unrealistic). example here (P3v2.1,ORBX,REX4,ASA2012) Options - HDR_OFF, Volumetric fog ON,Detailed Clouds and so on When I look out the window

Got it installed and so far nothing major. I did a complete reinstall decided against the patch. Now I am at the phase of control setting up.i have Saitek pro controls, yoke pedals and a extra throttle quad. Fsx and first version I used fsuipc, but now , do I use just fsuipc or can I mix? Should I use p3d's controls or stay with fsuipc? One issue I ran into is mouselook. It works great in p3d but fsuipc I cannot get the mouse to follow like in fsx. Just trolling others thoughts on how are you setting yours up.

If this has been addressed in the huge thread, please forgive me for asking again, but I didn't see it. The GPS units in all of my Carenado planes are stuck on a range of "0 ft" and they can't expand the range. The Avidyne unit in the B1900 is likewise crippled. I know people have discussed this on the LM forums, but I didn't see any solution offered. Does anyone know of some way to get them to work properly? Thanks.

Dear All, I'm trying to install freeware Swiss airforce bases sceneries into my P3D but no joy. Buildings and structures aren't visible. Most are very simple sceneries i.e. I'd put the scenery folder into my add-on scenery folder and active the scene in P3D. Kind Regards
