I bought FTX Global last week but am now rather concerned about installing it again after reading about all the files it changes in FSX. Correct me if I'm wrong but it appears as though there is not way to switch between FTX Global and the original FSX textures? There was no option to switch back in the "FTX Central" program. I installed it on my new SSD after a brand new FSX install and wasn't happy with the results/FPS. There also appeared to be no way to uninstall the product until I found a file on their forums at the weekend? An uninstaller should be packaged within the original program surely?! So I've now installed FSX afresh AGAIN and everything is run…

I am pointing to the same folder (Aerosoft scenery Madeira) folder with airport elevation 164.04 feet I had in FSX to the P3D v2. Yet when in P3D everything looks good except the runway is like 700 or so feet high. Why? I searched for *LPMA*.* and the only thing I could find is the bgl within aerosoft's Madeira folder as in FSX. I used the migration tool to point to virtual fsx and started F1's AFX to see if there are any other BGL and It also pointed to a single BGL which was the Aerosofts MAderea scenery fold with the same bgl I have in FSX So where in P3D v2 is it placing this runway so high? Any ideas? Manny

As the title says running REX4 with prepar3dv2.1 Happy with my Rex settings and my themes but not sure what I should be using as settings for the in game options for things like clouds (do I set this to detailed?)/water (do I set this to ultra for example or does it matter)/HDR - to get the most out of REX4 - noting that REX4 basically applies its own textures over the top of the original prepar3d ones?

Just started prepar3d v2 and need some help - (have already installed Orbx Global + REX 4 and through the Estonian migration tool some other add ons md500 (+ sound pack) + London x + mega airport heathrow - questions below: 1)With the sound pack for the md500 need to copy the sound folder into the md500 install location - but where does the migration tool install it? 2)Playing the game with a warthog stick and throttle (works great) also tried to link up my Saitek rudder and the whole setup goes crazy - seems to think the toe breaks on the peddles are elevators - how do I set it all up right? 3)Getting generally lowish frame rates (20-30fps - running a i7 oc'd to 4.…

Hi! Forgive me but I couldn't find explicit instructions or a sticky on this. I have installed an orbx region and I'd like to remove some of the orbx regional airports that might conflict with more detailed add-on airports I had installed prior. Can someone describe in detail or post a link for me? Appreciate it. Image 2 is Orbx Regional Airport with Add-on airport unchecked in scenery library.

Had been having problems with FSX for a while ,so i took the plunge and moved to P3D V2.1. I'd read good things about it so got stuck in and read all i could about setting it up...3 days and i've had enough of it. My take on it was that it was FSX on steroids.for me it was FSX on hemorrhoids..basically a pain in the A*&(" The list is of problems to type in is too long..so after all the reinstalling of it i deleted it last night and am now returning to FSX and a complete reinstall of win 7 64 and FSX. I read about other p3d users who have no problems at all,for me it was a nightmare from start to finish. steve

Just in the process of choosing a traffic programme for my prepar3dv2.1 (realise that I will need the Estonia migration tool to install it) but narrowed it down to My Traffic X lite (may eventually upgrade it to the 3D version) or My traffic 2013. Would be interested in opinions on what will work best out of the box (I understand with 2013 I might just be able to install it using EMT out of the box but the X lite might need some tweaks to get it running?) - interested also on the FPS impact as well as ease of install?

I'm pondering buying Vector 1.1, but not buying the Pilots Global FTX mesh. So I'd be using the default mesh. What issues (if any) can I expect to see? (I am using FTX Global Base). Double post pls ignore

Hi Sim Gurus, What are the key differences between REX and FTX Global? Why I notice folks having both? Doesn't REX improve your terrain, textures, cloud rendering etc., then what additional improvement FTX Global provides? In addition to that one has FTX vectors, FTX regional etc. Pardon my ignorance and thanks in advance for your input. If this has already been discussed please point me to the right link. Take care and happy flying!

It doesn't look like this news has been posted on this forum... http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/73278-ftx-global-vector-update-11-release-schedule/ http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/70621-vector-v11-change-log-in-development/ http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/72161-vector-v11-is-a-complete-rebuild-not-a-patch/ Lots of bug/error fixes and a rebuild of the product from the ground up so that it now is layered and the user can select what vector data is displayed. Set for release on 22nd February. I must admit I have ever such a slight grin on my face now when I remember all the faux drama and condemnation from some when Vector was released …

I am seriously considering a move to P3D. I have an extensive list of Orbx purchases (and available downloads of course) at the FlightSimStore. Are those purchases the latest updated programming from Orbx and now have P3D installers as part of the packages or do I have to buy everything (frightening thought, financially) new?

Does anyone know if an update to Vector is coming in the near future? I have Vector installed but have disabled it in my scenery library because of missing rivers. The Pelly River in the Yukon Territory is just gone and since I fly there somewhat frequently it's a big missing item for me. Noel

Just bought the above add on from sim market (says it is prepa3d ready) but when I try and install it I get "can not find prepard3d in registry" - so doesn't let me progress the install - anyone got any ideas on how to solve this ?(Note - I do have the migration tool but from what I have read this add on should work with prepar3d!) - I also have my prepar3d installed to my E drive...

I ran the Migration tool and it asked me if I wanted to update to the recent version and I said yes and it downloaded and Ran the latest version of this tool So I set to point to P3D v2 and installed som FSX aircrafts... and It went well But then I wanted to check something in FSX so went to load FSX and try to unlink the pointer to P3D v2 so I can start FSX. It errored out saying unable to restore from backup. Then I killed that tool and restarted it and it looked like, the link to P3D was not set.. so I was ok with. When I went to start FSX I realized my entire roaming folder with all the DLL.xml and EXE.xml was empty. I used by Acronis backup and recover…

Lockheed Martin has released a 22.3 MB hotfix that addresses some problems raised by Prepar3D V2.1 users, particularly issues related to addon aircraft (such as night lighting, sunken tires, etc.). It is a list of 49 DLLs plus the Prepared.exe (all located at the Prepar3d main directory). It is advised to backup all these 50 files because they will be overwritten with the new ones. Like I said before all legitimate issues raised will get addressed. Sitting back watching the fireworks from users knowing full well this sim is in active development is interesting to watch. LM has been way more supportive with support than we've ever got with Microsoft (Aces). It's like …

FTX Vector is a good product, bringing detail to the world outside of Orbx or UTX regions. But my favorite has to be the airport altitude adjustment. It fits right in with any good mesh, I like FSGenesis. And it makes all airports including addon airports have smooth elevation around the airport, no more runways on plateaus ruining your view.

Hi. I have upgraded to version 2.1 through a clean install. I am trying to install the IVAO client now (v. 2.0.2). First, it tells me that the P3d was not found and I have to override the path. I do this, browse to the folder where the sim is located. It is installed, but when I go to P3d, there is nothing installed in plugins. Your advise is much appreciated. Thank you! Best,

I had a wonderful flight this afternoon with the A2A C172 above FTX NCA, using only VOR for navigation. It was awesome. Beautiful. Great! I l loved every minute of it. The scenery was incredible, flying with VOR was fun as always and P3D's graphic engine makes everything looks so real. Those shadows, that light, the colors... Man, P3D is really gre........ OOPS...! SORRY! My bad! I forgot this forum isn't about flightsimming and the enjoyment it gives us but about problems with computers and limitations, frustrations, disagreements and let's not forget repetitive discussions and the beating of utterly dead horses. Sorry. Won't happen again.

Hye, I recently bought P3D v2 and installed it on a partition of my 1TB HDD. I was pleasently surprised about how well it worked om my computer. I have also installed FSX on my SSD disk and FSX is also running very well. But............I want more I'm thinking about format my Windows and other disks and start all over again but this time not with FSX but P3D v2. (on the SSD disk) I like the fly the PMDG aircrafts aswell other aircraft. (like Aerosoft a320) I'm sure I can be away from PMDG a few months. I'm just not sure yet if I need to make the switch to P3D. I just need a final little push towards P3D (or FSX) and maybe somebody can give me tha…

HI All, I'm just curious as to which P3D license most simmers are buying? I see there are at least 5, but I just want to keep simming like I do in FSX. It appears Professional or the Academic versions are the most logical choice, but why one over the other? Thanks Troy

How about the differences between using an ATI or a nVidia GPU in P3DV2? Do you already have any experience? I'm sure that many of us are thinking about buying a new graphics card, me too. But what's the best solution for V2 and for my wallet? I don't want to buy a GTX Titan or GTX 780TI, but rather an ATI 280X, ATI 290, or GTX 770 and GTX 780. Is any of the often used Games for GPU-benchmarks (ARMA, BF, Crysis,...) comparable with P3DV2? Regards, Manuel
