Hi, my system has been as follows until 2 days ago: Intel Board DZ68DB, 650 W power supply, Processor Intel i7-2600 CPU @ 3,40GHz, RAM Kingston 16 GM, 1 Intel SSD 224 GB (System), 1 Intel SSD 450 GB (Flightsim), 1 WD HD (Work), Graphics Adapter Zotac, 560Ti, 2GB VRAM, Win 7/64. That's what I would call a middle-class system today. It's for 95 % work and 5 % flight simulation (would love to see it the other way round...) After the fan bearing of the Zotac card became worn out I decided not to repair it, but get a new EVGA Nvidia 760, overclocked, 4 GB VRAM card. Let's come to Flight simulation. I have MSE2 Hawaii, and already own Megascenery Southern California (on DVD media). Both have installers. I also own the Sim-Savvy scenery, which I believe requires manual installation (adding to the Scenery Library in FSX). I have only used these products in FSX. I have just purchased and installed P3DV2, and so far have not installed any add-ons to it (looking through the forums to see what is compatible and how to install it). I still need to download and install the Migration Tool (which fools the system into thinking that P3DV2 is FSX). If I run the Migration Tool, can I simply run the installers for the MSE/MSE2 products? Is there anything different abo…

So I'm starting to get more and more into "real world" navigation, including ILS approaches. With that in mind, I'm looking for a way to lookup the approach plates for a given airport. The product I'm looking to is Simplates http://www.dauntless-soft.com/products/simplates/ I know Simplates doesn't integrate with the sim directly (I plan to buy the iPad version), but I was wondering if it was "in snyc" with the airport database in P3D v2. Would I be able to use Simplates without having to worry about either of them being out-dated?

I turned off Autogen in the FSX settings. I have used FTX Central to return FSX to default so no Orbx/FTX scenery is enabled. The dll.xml does not have any modules from FTX/Orbx being loaded. Yet, using Process Monitor during several flights, FTX/Orbx Autogen and every FTX/Orbx .bgl and textures from the Scenery/Global/Scenery folder were loaded during a flight from Chicago to St Louis over MegaSceneryEarth V2 photoscenery. Orbx Lights, Orbx trees, well, everything. Not only that but all of my FSX Autogen is being loaded too. Autogen is turned off. Doesn't the turn off switch work? After some initial tinkering, my P3D2 setup had been rock solid for one month: more than four weeks with no errors of any sort. Then, in the last three or four days, it's nightmare with this "Pure Function Virtual Call" error. I thought it was the AI traffic, because any settings over 25% would triggeer the error immediately, but even keeping my AI setting as low as it used to be doesn't help. I may add that some places like Athens (no addon scenery) have become unfliable: 16 fps with stutters, when I have 55 - 60 fps sitting on the runway at Half Moon Bay and around 48 fps flying around San Francisco Bay. I have all of the Orbx regions and close to 100 Orbx airports, payware and freeware, installed so I am pretty much committed to Orbx. I also have the three Pilots FS Global Ultimate mesh areas installed. Yesterday I flew around an area I am very familiar with, Marin County and the north bay area of the San Francisco Bay. I also have Aerosoft San Francisco city scenery installed because it includes Commodore Center, a seaplane base in Sausalito where I learned to fly in a Luscombe 8E on floats in the mid to late 50s. Thought I should post this in general forum also. I came across this fix for windows 7 microstutters because of parking of cores. prepar 3d 1.4 is now running so smooth that 30 fps looks as good as 60. It's amazing. I''ve lived with microstutters for years and now they're gone. This is a quick and easy fix. I'm running p3d in windowed mode because I hate atc in fullscreen, opusfsx cameras, nvidia inspector- triple buffering, vsync tear control-adaptive, vsync-3d app control. Has anyone managed to get squawkbox (inexternal mode) working for P3D in order to fly on vatsim?

Hi folks, First crash in many many weeks. Attached are two shots showing what I get when I exit. The only change I've made is to add the Aerosoft Twin-Otter Extended, which supposedly is P3D ready??? Your help or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Tom

Hi everybody, I barely fly my sim anymore because when I do manage to find some precious time, it's full of frustration with FSX CTDs on Win 8.1. I'm thinking of getting P3D v2 but want to make sure I don't end up with the same troubles. I don't use too many addons other than the Aerosoft Airbus Extended, REX textures and weather, and hopefully RCv4 if it works ok. Am I likely to make a successful 2+ hour flight? Also any improvements in wind smoothing? Thanks!

Can anyone help me out? I've searched the bajeesus out of this topic but I have yet to have any success. I have Prepar3d v2.0 with Win 7, i7, GTX770, 8GB RAM and a copy of FSX Gold all on a SSD. I've edited the xml file as needed, installed FSUIPC but I still do not have it showing up in the taskbar. If I run it outside of the game, it encounters a problem and crashes. Does anyone have a specific step-by-step?

After using P3D for a few months now, and having enough of my must have addon's working great... I'm deleting FSX off my drive for good. My favorate overall AC's to fly are the business jet's and I'd like to get a few more HQ ones in my P3D hangar. The ones I own so far are Flight 1 Mustang= works great Eaglesoft Citation X v2= cant get it to work :( Eaglesoft Raytheon Beechjet 400a= works great Bought this one way back with the premier back in FS9 and is one of my very favorate planes to fly. After loading northern Rockies I get this message. "could not complete operation, a file already exists in this path. After owing that a message says "could not finf a part of the path c:\fsx\Orbx\scripts\backup\default.XML Can anyone help?

Since P3DV2 allows for real world training, I am under the impression that the flight model or engine is different than FSX. Perhaps maybe too technical a question, how does the model compare to FSX? How do real world pilots compare it to FSX?

I use a mouse for control. Pitch changes are overly sensitive and make for a rollercoaster ride and the roll changes seem quite slow by comparison. This is despite changing the sensitivity to no avail. Anyone else find this? It wasn't the same in FSX (now uninstalled).

Hi all, I have been updating my flight sim after getting Prepar3d v2. I have replaced my 42" tv/monitor with a 50". Problem is, with the 42" I was getting an avg of 20 fps, and with the 50" I'm only getting from 6 to 9 avg? Anyone know what may be the reason? Also, after getting the lower fps, I started messing with the settings and found that lowering the slide bars even to the far left, made no difference at all with the fps, none? What's up with that? Seems like there should have been some sort of change? Other than that, P3d is running OK. Just a note, I installed the Migration software and every addon has shown up,,,,so far? Larry

I'm currently running P3D2 on a [email protected] and a GTX 780 with a single 1080p monitor which gives me excellent performance. I'm thinking about getting two additional monitors to run P3D2 with Nvidia Surround. Two questions in this regard: 1. Is the triple monitor setup really worth it compared to a single monitor with TrackIR? 2. What performance hit would you expect compared to the single monitor setup? Thanks for your help!
