PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu

  1. Started by squerble,

Hi all. In 2 of the last 10 or so flights I've done with the NGX, something strange has happened during the flight. Initially, I was just flying along at CRZ level with LNAV and VNAV armed. It then started rolling suddenly to one side. I took control and disengaged the autopilot, but the plane felt VERY weird. First of all, the elevators became extremely sensitive. I could barely hold it within ±500ft of the correct altitude, but the worst part was the rolling. It would keep rolling to one side, despite no inputs or trim. I could apply some opposite aileron to hold it, but then after a few seconds it would suddenly start rolling to the other side. It was almost like t…

Anyone tried REX Essentials with the NGX? Is it any better than AS2012 or not? What about the S-.turns, the winds aloft and the overcast sky? Thanks.

  3. Can someone help me out? I'm new to such realistic Aircrafts as the PMDG 737-800NGX and I'm getting stuck on entering flightplans from route-generator websites and a couple of programs I tried, into the FMC. I'm following the instruction from tutorial one, but then with a different route. Let me give a couple of examples. 1) EHEH to ESGG: RKN UL980 OSN UM170 LBE UP615 EKERN UM852 BAK I choose the RKN SID and a runway, then go to the VIA/TO page and enter the rest of the string. VIA UL980 TO OSN, VIA UM170 TO LBE, etc. But with the last entry of this string, BAK, I get a message 'invalid' when I try to enter it in the TO-collom. 2) EHAM to ESSA: GRONY UN873 J…

So I read the other day that the minimum manouvering speed of the aircraft in clean conditions was around 210kts (depending on payload etc of course, but in round figures). And doing a full flaps landing, VREF seems to usually be around 130 kts (again, very generalized). Now, I decided to play around a bit and see how the 737NGX behaved in a stall, so I took of from the runway and initiated a pretty steep climb and retracted the flaps. To my surprise I was able to maintain a steady climb without stalling at 130kts IAS, without any flaps, even making turns at about 30 degrees of bank without a problem. Is this really realistic? I mean, this is VO - 80 kts, or am I missin…

Need some help with a strange flightplan here guys. As I usually do, I prepared a plan using FSBuild from Jersey UK (EGJJ) rw 09 to London Stansted (EGSS) rw 04. I exported the plan to FSX as a pln file and the NGX as a rte file, which is my norm. I loaded the plan into the FMC and fired up Radar Contact loading it with the pln version. After I'd been flying a short while, Radar Contact told me I was off course and gave me a new heading to follow. It wasn't that I'd missed a waypoint, I realised but the FMC only had four or five of the total number of waypoints. After the fifth it was taking me directly to the runway at EGSS rather than following the routing …

Hi all, Just spent some time flying the NGX and have come across this problem with the Autothrottles. I have posted about this before recently but it doesn't seem any better, this time I have made some notes. So flying from Geneva, Switzerland to Birmingham, United kingdom at 30 000ft and in VNAV and LNAV the speed bug was set in the FMC at M.790 or 300KIAS but as you can see from the attached picture the speed tape is showing over 319KIAS and the "overspeed" warning was intermittently going off. Really annoying. At one point it seemed as if the overspeed warning was going off once every two seconds for about one second, almost like a heart beat, made me wonder i…

  7. Hi Captains,I have spent an important part of the day trying to put together a video for those of you having troubles preparing their flight or who just don't have an example of how to do it. I know a lot of experimented captains will read this and find it useless, however, you have to understand that there always is someone having less knowledge then you. Everytime i think about an interesting idea that may help some fellow captains in this community i just go for it. " days ago i talked with someone saying that he would be very very interested in a tutorial like this so i just did.... Furthermore i often see people asking questions about fuel planning, route planning, u…

Hi Very recently purchased the PMDG 737NGX and managed to finally got time to fly the tutorial flight last night. It's fantastic, I love this aircraft. Now, the point of this post is about the MCP speed set at V2. I did as the tutorial advised but once I took off and started to climb I started to enter a stall state. Alarms going off the works. At the time I had no idea what I was doing wrong, partly because my mind was fried by using the CDU etc for the first time :) I pushed forward on the stick to gain some airspeed and it disengaged the AP. I recovered the aircraft and then realised the the speed on the MCP was 'hindering' the aircraft. I adjusted this to …

  9. Servus, I have installed REX Essentials, flew from EDDS (Germany) to BIKF (Iceland) and then something strange happens to me over Belgium - I flew with autopilot, LNAV and VNAV engaged. The airplane rolls slowly to the left (Left wing down, right wing up) and the autopilot wasn't able to correct that movement. I disconnected the autopilot and flew by hand - and I needed much power to hold the plane horizontaly. I think I moved the stick to about 10 or 15 on the scale to just hold the bank angle. If I removed my hands from the stick the plane begins to roll until it was nearly 80 degrees bank angle - then I take control again. No failures, no yaw movement noticable and…

Hi! I've tested the SFP on my PMDG 738WL - once at INN and at SDU. I saw no difference at the take-off distance on these airports with short runway!I made the T/O with and without the SFP enabled! Is that ok - made SFP no changes at the T/O distance?? I don't think so. The only way to reduce my T/O distance is TO-B. Please some info about that! The next quest. is, how to calculate the T/O with SFP! And: Is the FMC-Option TO-B a part of SFP or not. On my PMDG NGX is TO-B (27K) always available! Thanks, FG, Mark

Hi, Would PMDG be able to set the maximun seat in the cabin to the max level of seats it`s certified for? Since some operators have 189 seats, it would be a nice touch if your guys can go in and change this to the maximum level.

  12. Hello I'm facing this problem since few flight basically once I'm near cruise altitude I get an Altimeter disagree alert, fallowed by stall warning and overspeed warning the plane loose control quick and the instrument start to show non sense information like 50000ft speed 144 vertical speed rate 3+ or so. I have few second for manoeuvre before crash on the ground or the plane get destroyed by the overspeed stress. I tried to set US metric, remove failure but nothing today it happened again and I can't understand why. one note it start since I used Rex Essential I don't know if it linked to it I've done different many flight with Rex 2.0 no problem also …

When programming in an arrival and I will use the following as my last flight done, KOMA to KMDW: Flight Plan is "DSM BDF MOTIF4" I departed on RWY 36 KOMA and landed on 4R KMDW. RTE page entered DIRECT ---- DSM, DIRECT --- BDF. Made no differece whether I Activated/Executed at this point. Then DEP/ARR page, DEP selected RWY 36 then made no difference If I selected a SID CATTL1 or BLUFS1 no transition offered. Then in ARR page selected ILS 4R (again made no difference whether I selected the BANER Rwy tr…

  14. I would like to request for consideration to the next 737NGX SP that there be put in place programmable keys to operate each door on the airplane. Yes, you can do it from within the 2 page "DOORS" area on the FMC/CDU unit. That's convoluted as opposed to being able to assign key commands to operate each door separately, and why not include a "close all doors" and "open all doors" while we're dreaming?Folks who use one way or another to control the airplane with hardware could then assign button commands using Linda or FSUIPC or simply manually hit the key combos to open the doors, instead of having to plow through the FMC/CDU and mouse-click.It's a "LITTLE" thing that c…

Last call for Vegas... This was flight 254. On flightaware, it was listed as a 300 today, but it was actually an 800, as it has been the last few days. This is the sixth 800 that has been delivered to SWA. It started out this AM in BWI, then to FLL, then to HOU, and now off to LAS. The time stamps on the images are an hour early.. Seems I need to change my camera to DST.. They are fixing to blast off on 12R..

Several times already, I had to look up items, cant find any keywords in the table of content and I cant find an index, and alphabetical list of keywords, anywhere. I cant imagine that in a 4000page manual, there's no list of keywords to find back items that are hidden somewhere in those 4000 pages. Can anyone tell me where I can find index pages for the manuals fo the PMDG 737NGX?

  17. Hi... loaded the tutorial # 2 as noted in the title's topic , and the 737 NGX (PMDG 738) is cutting circles over the skies at EHAM. Looked at the CDU, and couldn't see what part of the routing / legs advised the autopilot to stop the circling and head toward to LOWI. Loaded the flight as it was saved by PMDG after downloading the 737 NGX service pack. With appreciation and Thanks. :-)

Hi guys, As of writing, I am blasting out of KLAX on the CASTA2 SID to Anchorage in the Alaska 737-900 in the sim. There are calm winds from the North, and I'm nowhere near stall speed. However, I'm encountering countinuous buffetting, that actually isn't letting me see any information on the PFD without having to pause the sim. By buffetting, think how the CS757 used to rock back and forth, except this motion isn't side to side, its up and down. Any help figuring out whats wrong?

Hello guys! Today i was trying to perform the LOC/DME-E approach at KASE(Aspen). I'm wondering how you set up an approach like this? There are no STAR's to chose between. What i did was just add the 5 waypoints, JARGU, KICER, FIMSO, DOYPE and CEYAG into the FMC route together with the altitude restrictions(DIRECT-JARGU --- / 13400A | DIRECT-KICER --- / 12900A, etc). Also at the last waypoint(CEYAG) I set a speed restrction which was my vref speed. I did actually completely fail the approach because i set an altitude restriction at CEYAG to 10000ft, so i ended up way to high above the airfield. But i think i could have been able to do it if i just didnt put in any …

I am having an intermittant problem with the mouse controlling the knobs and switches while in virtual cockpit view in 737NGX. It works when I initially enter the cockpit but after scrolling around the cockpit with the hat on my joystick and using the pull down menues I am unable to use the mouse. I'm not really sure what causes it, but it has happened numerous times. If I switch to 2D pilot or 3D co-pilot it works, but will not work again in Pilots view 3D. I'm running an Nvidia card with the latest drivers, 8 GB Ram, Windows 7, 64 bit

Hi guys, Here is the setup: 737-BBJ (Or any 737 for that matter) Cold and dark No ground power start - APU start Follow the startup sequence to the letter and the APU refuses to start. I get the "Low oil pressure" lamp but no start. If I use fs2crew the APU still doesn't start. So, switch to a ground power start. All fine except... Engine 1 and 2 generators don't generate any power :s So, cross bleed start the APU and have to use the APU gen to run the plane. So, before I uninstall it all and reinstall is there anything I can do to test anything further out? Cheers, Craig

I have been going through the 1st tutorial but have a problem taking off. I increase N1 to 40% on both engines and engage TOGA. N1 and TO/GA appear on the FMA but N1 does not increase. I have FSUIPC4 installed but am using FSX to assign and calibrate the throttles (I'm using CH throttle quad). The throttles are working OK as when I move them on the CH quad the 737 throttles respond accordingly. I have tried going through the tutorial from scratch several times but get the same problem. It's getting annoying. It's probably something stupid I'm doing and I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
