PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu

I am doing some test flights into JFK. When trying the ILS for 4R 109.50/45, the VORLOC switch will not light. If I then select APP, it switches to BCS 222. I did an ILS 31L flight no problem. Does any one have any ideas. Thanks Bill

I am attempting to paint my own BBJ, I am starting simple and doing a base color with just one stripe. Following the PDF I know that I need to crop each fuselage section then copy it to the correct fuse....but I have no idea how to do this. When I crop the red area for fuselage one the rest of the plane disappears and I dont have any way how to copy and move it to the other fuse!! Any help would be appreciated!!!!

If I'm taking off without LNAV engaged (say because my first WPT is more than 5deg off rway heading), at what height can I engage LNAV? FCOM2 says 50', but I'm finding that its a good bit higher than that. The issue came up when I realised that choosing LNAV in FS2crew in NADP1 wasn't activating LNAV - but I find that the same issue arises when I manually mouse-click LNAV - it's not activating till a good bit higher. Not that it matters a whole lot, but I'm intrigued to know whether I'm just doing something wrong. Paul Scholey

I saw an interesting thread here the other day, that seems to have disappeared, about setting up your X52 to handle trim on one of the throttle rotaries. It used the standard FSX controller settings, with sensitivity/null zones etc. After experimenting with it, I wasn't able to find a decent compromise, so I have been playing with the profiler. The NGX stab trim is unusual (imho) in that it takes a lot of movement to create a relatively small amount of shift in trim value. Buttons are an ideal way to deal with that, and indeed as I understand it there are trim up/down buttons on the yoke for just that reason. How then to use a rotary when it turns less than 360deg…

FSX ATC will always vector me out even if I provide a sid flight plan. Is this procedure reflective of a real world environment? so in the above case in FSX I should follow the vector and resume my flight plan once I am told to use my own navigation?

According to one developer, a wing texuture is mapped only once, then only mirrored. Due to this, a "NO STEP" texture is upside down and turned on another wing. Is that true? I just can't believe one can't make the correct texture on such high-caliber addon. Any help guys? I myself am not a repainter, so I'm just inquiring.

Good evening ;-) Just a quick question. How can I find out the correct elevation height, to put in the HGS control panel, for an ILS approach? So that the outlines of the runway are correct displayed in the HGS. Thanks alot for any kind of advice, nicolas reich

Hello, I'm just starting to learn the NGX but I have ran into a problem. After setting up the plane as per the instructions in Tutorial #1, I slowly moved the throttles to 40% N1, then clicked TOGA. In about 3 seconds, the autothrottle disconnects. I've done the tutorial 1 twice and A/T disconnected during takeoff on both occasions. I have a Saitek Throttle Quandrant and I calibrate it using FSUIPC. Am I doing something wrong? What's seems to be the cause of this problem? Many thanks in advance! Nick

Slightly off topic but I'm thinking of getting REX Essentials and would be very grateful to know users experiences of this program on performance (frame rates, fluidity etc.) when flying the PMDG 737s. Thanks for any opinions. Toni.

I created a repaint for the NGX -700 for a fictional airline. I lack skills in that area, so I'd like to get it re-done by someone who knows what they're doing. Are there any repaint services I could purchase a custom paint from, using mine as a rough draft? I tried contacting Cielosim, but got no response, and I checked TFDI's site, but they aren't accepting new orders.

I just wanted to redownload the 737 as i accidently deleted my setup files. Once i want to put the extended download service to my cart, it says "cart is empty" or something like that and i cannot continue :(

At the request of some who said the last thread was getting too confusing, I am re-posting this to include any Changes I made after the original post. Any changes from the original post will be highlighted in Red. Lets try and keep this simple, I know many of you have tweaked your .cfgs and have your own custom settings. This is just to give people a starting point where the conditions are such that the NGX will function well. Then they can change their settings as desired. Hi everyone. I love to fly my pmdg ngx in bad weather. Does anyone know of airports that can handle a 737-600 that often has bad weather conditions? Staale Moum.

I haven't gotten around to testing this, but I was just wondering if the guys at PMDG modeled this characteristic of the Ni-Cad battery? I read somewhere that if a Ni-Cad battery is kept near full charge all the time, it tends to lose some of its ability to meet more demanding situations. Sort of like an electric razor, in which you must drain he battery after the first time you use it and then re-charge it.

Hello i bought the 737ngx today and i got an email while i was downloading the ngx that include my order id,order code, and activation key. When i installed the ngx and selected it it asked for an activation key so i went and copy and pasted my activation key and clicked activate and it says "ERROR:unable to contact activation server check your internet connection and try again." ive checked my internet connection and have redone this process like 20 times now and it just wont activate. Hi guys, I have updated my graphics card at Thursday last week, because i got the game Battlefield 3. Before this Update was everything normal with my NGX. But now, the font in the virtual cockpit is fuzzy. But only the font over the ND and in the MCP. In the overhead everything is still normal. My PC: Intel Core i5 4x3,1 GHZ Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 (Asus) 8 GB RAM Windows 7 64 Bit I have taken a picture: On this picture you can see, where the font is fuzzy. Thank you very much.

Hi, I've a minor problem. I want to have my PMDG 737NGX come up with transponder code 2000 after powering up. I start up with "FSX Startup for Complex Aircraft.FLT" and so I've modified the [Avionics.0] section by changing "transponder=1200" to "transponder=2000". If I startup with a panelstate where the aircraft is powered up with GND PWR everything works fine. If I startup with a panelstate where the aircraft is CLD and DARK, the transponder code reads 1200 after powering up. Is it possible to start up with a CLD and DRK Cockpit having 2000 in the transponder after powering up? Foreman

Hi, Can someone explain to me what is the probelem when after buying a computer I must now activate the NGX eash time I want to use it in FSX? Each time I activate and I get a message that the NGX is sucessfully activated, but when I later restart FSX for another(new) session I get the activation message again and I have re activate again!!!!!!!!!!!! Help Please!!!

Hey Chaps, Starting to repaint the NG Basics I've got down, but the Shadows....if I select them as an active layer it whites out most of the fuselage Also the windows seem to be blanked/greyed out so they cannot be looked through in FSX, Opened up one of the PMDG house liveries "DDS" files and the windows are not painted and you can see the background through them (using Gimp 2.8) where's the one in the paint kit is solid. anyway around this? Why I am I only seeing a skeletal version of the the flight instruments on the captain side and no instruments at all on the co pilot side as I complete the start up check lists with fs2crew. When it starts in default the instruments are fine.
