LINDA Support

Hi, I'm using : FSX,windows 7, flight1 technical student soft + cockpit builder, Linda1.13. I'd like to assign the real pushbuttons from the MFD via Linda and an Leo bodnar BU836X device. flight1 doesn't seem to recognize this. I know I have to adapt the F1_keyboard.ini. file but what to put after MFD softkey1= ?. Any suggestion welcome Thanks Gerry

It is a shame that Saitek does not provide such incredible software despite the price of the hardware. (ok I stop moaning). EDIT Thats so strange but all of a sudden the problem solved itself and Linda is working OK now.

I'm sure others have discovered this but adding or removing joystick devices can break some or all of the programming you have done for your buttons and switches, for some or all of your aircraft. This is disastrous, especially if you have a large number of panels and a fly a large number of aircraft! It appears that when LINDA starts it enumerates the HIDs connected to the PC and for each it creates a unique identifier from the vendor id (VID), product id (PID) and a sequence number (UID). The VID and PID are read from the device but the UID is not, it is assigned in sequence - presumably the order in which Windows reports it to LINDA. The problem is, this order may …

Hi! Just moved to P3D and got the PMDG B737NGX. Was trying to set up my VR Insight MCP Combo with the help of LINDA. Think I got it to work now, and understand how I can change assignment for buttons etc. But what about the display window? Now i have some text about "FL" with "00" below and "APU" with "0C" below. I just want the MCP to look like the "old" display when I didn't used Linda. Regards Johnny

Looking into purchasing the VRInsight MCP Combo II. Only plane in my hanger I'm still looking for compatibility is the iFly 747 v2. Is there support for this plane? Have searched around, but haven't found any definitive answers. Thanks, Gary

I'm new to LINDA and I'm trying to setup the Dash8 and I'm having some issues with the rotary controls. I've got Linda setup and the MJC8Q400 profile loaded and most controls work fine, except for the rotary controls. I'm using Saitek Radio and Multi panels, from which I try to setup the rotary controls for the AP HDG, CRS and ALT setting and the Main Index Panel VSpeed, BARO and HD/MDA. When setup, the controllers assign to the right functions, but all of them change with at least a value of 2 or more and if I have to dial a greater distance, it goes very, very, very, very slow. For example, when dialing in the barometer value, I cant set odd numbers only, it only jumps…

First of all, LINDA is a great tool that helps me a lot during my home cockpit development, but, problems come out when I try to develop my own hardware: I have no idea how to read chars (e.g., the speed, heading displayed on FCU; the radio freq displayed on radio stack), I tried the templates but it doesn't contain useful info. What should I do?

Whenever I open LINDA I get an error saying Range Check Error. This also occurs when I try to exit. LINDA also does not function (when I press a button it does not press it in P3D when assigned) It also does not highlight the button number. I have seen other articles but their solutions have not fixed mine. I have tried: - Fresh install of LINDA and FSUIPC Thank you very much. LINDA 2.6.3 v2 has not solved my issue.

Hi, Is there a way to disable saitek panels in LINDA so it's possible to drive them from another software? I would like to command my saitek gear, including yoke and pedals, from Sapd.Next and MCP Combo II from LINDA. I have been using and am enjoying learning about LINDA since last fall primarily for Aerosoft DHC-6 Twin Otter Extended and PMDG 777. Setups were done through a combination of FSX, FSUIPC, SPAD, and LINDA. I recently purchased the MJC8Q400 and things are set up mostly through LINDA and without using SPAD. My problem is that I only get solid green lights on the Saitek Switch Panel landing gear indicator LED’s. My hardware consists of MS FFB2 Sidewinder, CH Pro Pedals, CH Throttle Quadrant, TrackIr and Saitek Switch Panel with all USB’s connected directly into my computer. Exception EAccessViolation in module linda.exe at 00350A2F, Access violation at address 00750A2F in module 'linda.exe', Read of address 000002C8. Getting this error lately. Win7 64 Premium home P3Dv3.0 All functions operate and no issues, well except this error when I shut down LINDA.

Anyone had any similar issues? LINDA doesn't recognize the rotary switches on my throttle. Out of 5 rotary switches it recognizes only 1 of them (the silver one on the left side of the throttle). The Windows game controller calibration recognizes them as axis (and FSUIPC too). So would I be able to assign a control in LINDA to one of these rotary switches?

Hello there, Thanks to LINDA tracing console window, I was able to derive a set of LVars from one of my favourite aircraft. Here is a short list: cowl_flaps_switch switch_oil_shut rudder_trim_switch aileron_trim_switch elev_trim_switch They aren't bound to any default FSX controls and are activated by mouse clicking on aircraft switches only, i.e. specific commands hard-coded in one of the aircraft DLLs. So, now I want to assign these commands to specific buttons on my Saitek X52 Pro joystick but I don't know how to accomplish this task. How can I create a new aircraft module with the RealAir Lancair V2? The aircraft search string gives me aircraft that are in the SimObjects folder. In the case of RealAir, their default installation folder now resides in Drive "C". The "Create" button is only available when I select an aircraft from the "Aircraft Search String" list. Not sure how this works. Thanks!

Hello! I´ve read the manual but i´m not able to assing a button to the SHIFT function using LINDA 2.6.7. Every other asignment works fine. If i click on "SHIFTED MODES", nothing happens. I´m sure im doing something wrong, but i cant figure out what. Any hints? Stephan

I have searched the forum but cannot find anybody having the same problem. I am using a Vrinsight panel with Aerosoft's Airbus package, everything works as required except:- a) Lamp - pressing this button disconnects the panel, with the associated USB disconnect/reconnect bleeps. b) Swap - When pressing this is the COM mode, the display flashes between the current and new frequency in an infinite loop. (Nav, ADF and DME all work as expected) Both buttons work correctly for FSX Default aircraft. Since moving to Windows 10 I've found that every now and then when Linda crashes, it didn't happen often and it sends to just get overwhelmed sometimes, it freezes my mouse into an unrecoverable state where the pointer moves but it beeps constantly and will not click on anything. I'm running the newest version of Linda on P3d v3. It's been happening for a couple of months, like I said not all the time, but it definitely only seems to occur after a warning pop-up window advises that, not an exact quote here, lua device assigning has quit unexpectedly. Once I click okay it shuts Linda down. I can restart Linda using my keyboard and it restarts just fine but the mouse issue …

I'm now using Linda to "drive" my Saitek Radio Panel (the original Saitek driver has been removed). The XPDR switch position now allows both the transponder and the altimeter barometric pressure to be set. It seems, however, that the barometric pressure can only be input in millibars (vs inches of Hg). The .lua file seems to have code to allow for both millibars and inches of Hg. How can I change over to the Hg input? Thanks.
