LINDA Support

Running LINDA 2.8.5. I am receiving an error message with the user functions editor (I have several functions which I added). It states: Lua.exe is not found! C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\Modules\linda\lua\lua.exe There is no lua folder in the linda folder. Therefore no lua.exe file. Are we expected to compile lua.exe and create this folder? I have compiled programs on a mainframe years ago, but the instructions to compile lua calls for more technical experience than most of us Linda users have. Can anyone explain in detail if the lua.exe is even really needed. Obviously LINDA uses FSUIPC extensively and I cannot find lua.exe on my machin…

Hi all, Despite being a FSX enthusiastic for many years I had not discovered this wonderful SW until yesterday. I had heard about it but as I was flying VFR GAs since I got a decent HW (Saitek Yoke + Pedals) I had not really needed anything like this so far. Hi Folks. I am thinking about making a small home cockpit feature based on the Phenom 300 bizjet. The only item I'm not sure about is a T/O config button that checks the take-off configuration of the aircraft. It gives an aural callout regarding the take-off condition. A friend and I spent a few hours going through the LINDA Tracer to try and find the variable that controlled the operation of this button to no avail. Has anyone any experience of making callout type buttons operate? Or better still has anyone done this with the Phenom? Hi, I am using LINDA with my Thrustmaster T16000M Flight Pack for some frequently used functions in my addon aircraft. Although I am far from understanding what's going on in the scripts, I get along quite well with the scripts I have downloaded here - except the F1 B200. I am not able to assign a button to the gear horn silencer. Actually, with the script available here I can get NO button to work. Maybe it's because it is written for use with a shift function, which I don't use, I'd be glad if somebody could help out here. Scot - I know you provided support on sound issues and I wonder if you are able to refine further. There are still a number of issues with FS2Crew and the Q400. The most persistent problems are: 1) Never ending repeat of callouts namely "We are picking up some ice", "Alt Sel". Bryan York has modified FS2Crew to now completely eliminate these callouts but this is not idea. 2) The First Officer cannot read the fuel correctly with LINDA & MCP active. Interestingly if you re-run the FS2Crew checklist a second time it works perfectly.

Hi all, I am just starting out using linda. I want to write some of my own lua code For the Carenado Phenom 300. I see that i can get a list of Lvars using the tracer but i am stuck on function names. The first switch i am having a go at is for the emergency lights. Here is the Lvar for it......ASD_SWITCH_EMER_LIGHT_EMB500 Can i Work out the function name from the above Lvar or do i need to source it elsewhere? thanks Stinger

Hi all, I have made a start programming my Carenado Phenom 300 overhead panel (lights) On the panel there are 5 switches taxl/ldg, nav, strobe, cabin, and emergency. two of these (taxi/ldg and emergency switch) are three position switches. I have managed now to create Lua scripts so that my custom Leo Bodnar based box operates these switches. All work fine in the sense that when I flick a switch on my Leo box the corresponding switch moves in FSX on the overhead. All work fine except the taxi/ldg switches. These are moving the corresponding switches in FSX but the lights on the aircraft are not coming on unless I operate the overhead panel switches in …

Hi, I updated to Linda 2.8.5 and PMDG 737 NGX 4.7 module as this is the plane I fly in Prepar3D v3.4.14 and buttons stopped working properly: - Sometimes the "on release" works, sometimes it doesn't. - When I try to reasign functions to "on press" and "on release" it does not work anymore I'm also using last FSUIPC versión: 4.958. The Aerosoft Airbus controls have stopped working for me in P3DV3.4 - other aircraft like the PMDG and Majestic still work. Any theories? The assignments in LINDA are the same as before, but now there's no response when I turn a knob or press a button. FSUIPC can see the buttons and knobs as before. When I touch a (VRInsight Combo I) knob or button or switch, the LINDA UI highlights it, and I can reassign the control, but nothing happens in the plane. LINDA I have 2.6.3 installed dickey with PREPAR3D and FSUIP 4,949. I need to trigger functions in the DASH-8 400 (APU POWER / APU START / PUMP among other functions starting my Saitek and overhead equipment (Starget Plate 64). LINDA recognizes commands at switch button ... also could assign it the functions we want, the only problem is that the DASH-8400 does not recognize the command starting the pre button set, only managed to drive by mouse click, it takes the realism that has a cockpit. HI I have a great problem: Firsrt thank you for this great Programm and sorry for my bad english. I`m using LINDA Ver 2.8.4 / FSX Acc. My HID`s are a Saitek Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Yoke System and 4 Arcaze Modules. Every arcaze module is split into two HID devices with 20 Button. Every HID working fine with LINDA. If i restart LINDA (not the PC) the devices are changed and every button is assigned to a other device. I have now idea whats happened. i configured it three times and every restart of LINDA the devices are changed. Any idea whats happend and what can i do to solve my problem. hello, I would like to use another PC to execute lua code to interface to USB/COM peripherals interfaces. I need to access to Lvars and Control. Can I use a Wide FS client in another PC (no Sim FSX one) to execute my lua code. How executing the ipcready.lua like in the WIDESFS PC ? Do I need to create ipcready.lua on the client widefs PC ? Hello, When looking in the Linda default program and especially in hidpoll function, I have question. When lookin for the periodic event timer, it is every 20 ms. It calls hidpoll function. but looking to this function : function hidPoll () count = count + 1 -- once a second if count % 40 == 0 then TimerOneSec () count = 0 count10 = count10 + 1 ................ There is a problem becaus once second occures every 50 incrementation of count not 40 !!!!!! Is there a problem or I am in wrong ? For me , TimerOnSec is called every 800ms and not 1sec

Hello sorry , I have problem with new version of Linda 2.8.4 when using the editor to design lua sources code, the editor freez and all crashes, Linda crash also. Only one solution : stop processes manually ! Working on Win7 with FSX and Airbus X A319/A3201.31 (last version). I would like to use Linda to design my own interface. My objective is to use Linda to debung my lua programs. I can't do that at this moment because the LINDA Editor Freez juste after loading my lua source program. Hello guys! I hope you can help me! My problem is that i want to connect my "hardware"-overhead to the fsx. On the overhead there a toggle build in they can only on-off-on. But the overhead has a switch with the name "nose" and this have the situations "t.o."; "taxi" and "off". So it is possible to generate a makro that realise such situations i need. I think on: If the toggle (called at the arkaze gamepad 1) is on then send fsuipc 78ee (21) If the toggle (called at the arkaze gamepad 2) is on then send fsuipc 78ee (23) If the toggle 1 and 2 are off then send fsuipc 78ee (22) Is this a realistic way and how can i do this? thanks and regards peter

Hi All Been using LINDA now for a few days with the MCP2, very good indeed. OK, not sure how/if these are working correctly. Starting LINDA GUI, it defaults to '--Presets--'. Then select a preset that you want. I'll use the 'COMM panel' as an example. 1. Select from the dropdown : PMDG737 USER Default 2. Lamp option bottom left is 'Empty' 3. Allocate 'NGX LIGHT PANEL ALL toggle' 4. click save 5. Select MCP (Middle picture) 6. Select from dropdown 'PMDG737 MCP Defaults 7. click save Now go back to the comm picture (right). Hello, I found from earlier posts that MCP1 original combo should work with AE A320, however, that’s not happening in my case. Hi All New user here ! Have downloaded the latest Linda version and the latest Airbus Module. When Airbus A320 is loaded I have the orange box around the name ' Aerosoft Airbus' I have setup the MCP2 , all green and OK. there is not connection to the MCP, all it says in the comm window is 'Instrument Radio via VRiSim' and MCP-II/Boeing type V1.100...ect ect in the other window. I'm finding Linda 2.8.3 with P3DV3.4 is not being shut down automatically despite the RunIf1=CLOSE,C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\Modules\linda.exe entry being in the FSUICP.ini file. Didn't have this happening with P3DV3.3. gb.
