LINDA Support

Hello developers, First let me say thanks again for the great program. Each revision gets better. I am having issues with 2.7.0 with On Repeat commands though. 2.6.8 would give very smooth and steady trim adjustments where 2.7.0 is jumpy with about 1/2 second pauses between wheel movements. This is happening on a friends PC as well but he's on Win 7 Pro 64. FSX & FSX-SE, Win 10 Pro 64, Saitek X52 Pro, FSUIPC4 v4.949. Looking forward to more flying with LINDA. FlashO

Followed the directions and loaded linda.exe and a few other files (and a couple of folders). I do NOT have an MCP in any form. I just wanted to see what LINDA does, how it works, could it help me with my Flight1 Pilatus, etc.? Once linda is running if I click on "manual.pdf" instead of the manual, I get the following dialog box: "A functions file already exists for this aircraft. Do you want to overwrite the file? I'm trying to install my 2nd Saitek panel but am having no joy. I already have a Radio Panel installed via LINDA (thanks to your help) and that's working fine. However, LINDA can't seem to recognize my new Multi Panel. I've amended the Modules\linda-cfg\aircrafts\FSX Default\config-hid.lua file to add the Multi Panel info contained in the config-hid-saitek.lua file. When I start up LINDA, the Multi Panel is shown as a Joystick, but pushing any of the panel's buttons does not do anything. The panel is also invisible to FSX. Saitek's drivers are NOT installed. I have noticed that the LINDA Tracer does not see the first lvar reported by FSUIPC if you use its 'list panel vars' function. The lvar can be read successfully with the FSUIPC library, you just can't look at it or manipulate it in the LINDA Tracer. This happens with any add-on aircraft. Anyone else noticed this?

The BU0836A interface board accommodates up to 8 axes and 36 buttons, four of which are grouped into a hat button arrangement. If you don't need a hat button, this is a waste of four ordinary buttons. FSX, P3D and LINDA don't offer a solution for this. FSUIPC, however, provides a possibility to assign some behaviour to any of the four buttons, as if it were ordinary buttons. LINDA got me programming my button behaviour in LUA. The assignment of LUA functions to buttons in LINDA is much more elegant and better maintainable then calling LUA files in FSUIPC. There are at least two ways to get around this limitation in LINDA: buy another BU0836A (not expensive anyway)…

I ran into a nice IPCready.LUA example conerning vertcal speed at landing. The first statement was ipc.setowndisplay("FRM", 0, 60, 6, 1) and the LINDA editor qualified this with " 6: attempt to call field 'setowndisplay' (a nil value)". A search on the Internet reveiled that this a new function that comes with FSUIPC v. 4.95. After installing this version, the sample code functions correctly, but LINDA continues to report the error message mentioned. With this new FSUIPC release, a number of new functions are introduced that also may need attention.

Hi, I have several doubts with LINDA. I don´t know if it is normal or they are errors: -I can´t find a BUS TRANSFER assignement for PMDG 737NGX. -Disengage bar don´t synchronize correctly with PMDG 737NGX. When I press Disengage bar sometimes don´t produce any effect on the MCP of the airplane, and another times one press produces several ON and OFF movements on the lever of the airplane... -LDG ALT don´t synchronize correctly with PMDG 737NGX. When MCP shows 0 overhead panel shows 150, when MCP shows 50 overhead panel shows 200, and so on. Thank you.

Is there any documentation of the VRInsight MCP II Radio Commands? I can view the diagram in the MCP II Documentation but there is no explanation of the function. E.G is Comm a select of the comm? Where in the Radio function is Comm2 selected. When one looks at the Linda Window, there is no assignment to the Comm buttons. For example, the MCP II documentation shows Swap (<-->), AUX and Lights. What are these used for (I know swap switches primary and secondary frequencies, but how are they displayed? I can't seem to find any documentation on this section in either Linda or VRInsight documentation. Please help.

Hi Scott, I've the problem with several modules, that the On Repeat function does not stop, when the button is released. That disengaged the autopilot when switching on and when trimm is used before. But that is with every function assigned to On Repeat. EDIT: after some testing, it seems, new assigning the function fixes this problem. After installing the latest Version 2.7.0 rev1, I copied my old assignments (PMDG737) back to Linda out of my backup. I will monitor this.

hi ,i have a xbox 360 controller and the d pad wont register when the buttons are press in linda and any command place on the buttons does not work . the controller is configured and reconized .axes 6 buttons 10 hats 1. on joystick screen buttons 1 - 10 work ok and high light d pad shows as h0 - h8 but when I press the d pad only h1 is high lighted any other button does not show and wont work. this is the latest version same happens with earlier versions .. thanks for any help.

Hi, I have updated LINDA to 2.7.0. I use the last modules for PMDG 737NGX (version 3.4) and PMDG 777 (version 1.2). To install them, I simply copy the contents of LINDA 2.7.0 in the /Modules folder and copy the specific airplane module files to the /Aircraft folders linside /linda and /linda-cfg. When I start FSX and load the airplanes: -For PMDG 737NGX I get odd characters on my MCP display: F:00A:0 F:00g Type v1.100 Sel100 YA:0 Air000ft 100 FLY No0 -For PMDG 777 LINDA console says it can´t find any MCP configuration and doesn´t load. I never have had such errors, do you know the possible cause? Thank you so much.

hello everyone , i am using linda for a lot of time but today i got a very strange situation , i program a Cessna 172 cockpit complete with all the inputs and everything work perfectly but after i turn off the computer and turn it back on it is look like the usb order change for example what ever i program on usb 1 button 23 it is now on usb 2 buttons 23 anyone have any idea what happens ? thank you for the help

Hello! I hope somebody who knows a bit about making modules can help! I have the IRIS Grob 115E Evaluation aircraft in P3D and I wanted to make a module for it. I went into the tracer and found the Lvar, SW_STROBE_LIGHTS. I clicked the toggle button in the tracer and it switched on. I now wanted to make that into a module. I made an aircraft inside the aircraft folder called 'test' I also did this in the linda-cfg. Hi, folks. I just got the hang of writing basic (very basic : ) Lua scripts for my Carenado Baron panel (homebuilt). I've got every switch of mine working the corresponding button in the sim except for one instrument. The DME Position indicator (below the HSI) sends an FSX Control (Dme_select and parameter or 1 or 2) and an LVar command (DMEPOS 1 or 2). Is it possible to write an Lua command that will do the FSX command and the LVar? Here's what I have for this section, just need to add the FSX command and not sure how. I have the latest FSUIPC 4 AND LINDA in the FSX Modules folder and wondering if I need to purchase or download any other products to get going. I see a reference to VRInsight and MCP Combo in setting up LINDA and can't figure out what I should do about this? I'm getting an Everything is OK msg for the Warthog Joystick and Throttles, VRinsight MCP Combo says a setup is required to resolve a mismatch between FSUIPC and LINDA port numbers not matching and I'm not sure how to clear this up. I've got the FCU (Airbus) from VRinsight and everything works fine with the modules for the PMDG 737NGX and A31X / A32X of Aerosoft. But it does not work at all with the PMDG 777 ...! Are all the modules, at least the 1 above, are compatible with the FCU VRinsight ? Should I make some adjustments, and if so which one ? I have not seen any explanation on that point. Hi, Have just bought an second hand original MCP Combo and installed Linda 1.13. I fly wth standard B737-800 and that works fine. Also use Ifly 737-800 and tried to work this with the Ifly 737 configuration which came with Linda 1.13, but only the radios and speed, heading en alt selection work. Fly also the newest Aerosoft Airbus X but works the same as Ifly737 when I selct the Airbus configuration Can I use Linda 2.6.9 with the MCP in combination with the latest configurations with my planes? When I first load a P3DV3.2 (Win10) flight I find that while the "On Press" assignments work, the "On Release" assignments do not work with both the A2A Cherokee and Comanche. The default Bonanza does not have this problem. Weirdly the problem goes away if I just go to the Linda program window, which is always initially showing the Settings page, and just click the Linda Joystick button next to the Settings button. Without doing anything else at all I just go back to P3D and un-pause P3D and find that the "On Release" commands are now working. Problem occurs with both my Saitek switch panel and Warthog throttle switches. Happened with Lind 2.6.7 and now 2.6.9. …
