LINDA Support

Hi All, I have programmed 3 button boxes in LINDA.(and a throttle quadrant and yoke/rudder pedals) Today, I had to sort out some wiring on one of them and had to unplug all devices from USB. After I plugged them all back in LINDA had jumbled them. i.e switches on box 1 were now showing as box 2 in LINDA. In an effort to put it right I changed the USB plugs around. Hey presto the next time I started the sim and LINDA they were back to normal. So my question is - Do my joystick/button box cables always have to be plugged into the same USB port? Hi I am trying to define button presses on the VRInsight TT panel for those buttons recognized as part of the Hat Switch H1:1 to H1:8. Unfortunately when I define the action and click save, the action is not saved and the H1:x slot in question remains blank. I checked similar hat switch type buttons on my Yoke and joystick, and none of this type of button definition is saved for these either. I am running P3D v4.0.28.21686, FSUIPC 5.113, and Linda 3.0.2.714. The controls work fine in my FSX-SE setup, and register correctly in the appropriate Linda slot when pressed, they are just not saved! Any ideas? Keith

No probs at all.....Its really bizarre because none of my HAT positions work in LINDA at all. I know that the top pos 1 says DO NOT USE however none of them will allow my to assign the actions from the LINDA A320X module. Don't understand because I've assigned everything else in LINDA???? After activating P3Dv4 Linda v3.0.2.714 starts nearly immediately. Great ! Then when everything is ok, the screen of Linda remains visual on the monitor although in the Setup of Linda the box "Minimize to tray" is set toON. Why doesn't Linda minimize to the taskbar?

Hi If I have defined switch and button definitions for an aircraft, e.g PMDG B737 in P3D v3 (or FSX-SE), which files/folders do I need to move to the Linda setup in P3D v4 so I do not have to manually define each action again in the new simulator. Thanks Keith

Hi, I have spent the summer building my cockpit and have now come to assigning all of the buttons etc. My cockpit is based on the Carenado Phenom 300. I am using FSX Acceleration, FSUIPC 2.958, LINDA 2.89 standard v2. I have read the PDF manual which shows how to use the LINDA tracer but I am not seeing any FSUIPC logging for FSX controls or ipc writes. The LINDA logging is working fine so I can see the list of LVars scrolling through. Do I need to do something in FSUIPC to get this working or am I doing something else wrong.? I have tried starting FSX with the standard Cessna 172 in case my aircraft wasn't using any FSX controls at all …

Hello, captains... I need your help... I dont know how to create list of functions for my new PMDG 747II. I can see all functions in Tracer section, but I dont know how to save that list for using in "MCP Combo" section (to align functions to buttons/rotary). I bought PMDG 737 NGX 2 years ago and everything works perfect there (I dont know how I did it then, but there is a huge amount of functions (pic.1)). Hi there, Probably I am not the only (nor the first) one, who asks it, but can anyone tell me, when (or if already) we can use our VRInsight MCPcombo v2 with LINDA on our PMDG-Boeings? I really am looking forward to, because it is quite difficult to figure out, how we have to cope with the mouse. Hopefully, this will be available soon. Hi There I'm may be missing the obvious here, but I'm not able to get LINDA 3.0.1 working. I recently installed a SSD and took the opportunity to switch to FSX SE. I did a full back up of my FSX Modules folder. after downloading the newest FSUIPC ver 4.971 and LINDA 3.0.1 I have not been able to control anything. I then deleted all LINDA files from my modules folder and took the ones from my old folder. The LINDA version I was running was 2.5.7(old I know) but before I formatted it worked and it is still working, every assignment is there and OK. With 3.0.1 I con not get anything to work. Hi there, Linda crashes P3D v4 for me whenever I try to change an aircraft. The first load will work, but as soon as I change it, the sim will crash. It is reproducably linda, as without it it does not happen. I removed everything, had a blank linda in the Modules folder and the same behaviour could be reproduced. On a side note, the mode switch sound is not playing since p3dv4 anymore. Is that deliberate or something wrong on my part?

Is there a way to use linda or lua to constantly monitor the active Com1 frequency and write it to a simple text file. The file would simply get overwritten when a new active com1 frequency is selected? Thanks Brian

Dear ScotFlieger, I have just swapped over to P3Dv4 after many happy years using Linda and FSX. I have had some success using Linda with the PMDG 737 NGX v4 profile (the simulation responds to my commands) but the default FSX profile does not work with any aircraft including the LM default aircraft. I am trying to use the LM Beech Baron B58. Do you have any suggestions from my configuration files pasted below? I notice that the MCP1 display correctly changes when I alter the HDG bug inside the sim. Hopefully this will be an easy one for you. Hi Günther, it seems all functions regarding weather radar buttons do not work in the new P3Dv4 Version of my PMDG 737 NGX. The tilt and gain assignment work as they should. Can someone confirm this?

I have a question regarding the "on repeat" speed: I have 16-indent rotary encoder that I want to use for setting my heading bug. Using "HDG plus/minus" function will not work for me because to make the full 360°, I would need to turn the encoder 22.5 times. However, "HDG plusfast/plusminus" won't give me the 1° granularity. Therefore, I intend to use "HDG plus/minus" on press and "HDG plusfast/plusminus" on repeat. After the first 1° increment, it nicely goes into "fast-mode". HI Guys. Just getting in to LINDA. I am following Brians guide. I have the Thrustmaster A10 Hotas. I have setup my stick and have this as 'everything ok' in LINDA. However when I reach the part where I press the buttons they are not highlighting in LINDA and hence I come to a full stop. I have a LINDA downloaded file set for the PMDG 777 and this is selected. They are recognised in Win Control Panel. Can you give me any ideas what is causing this please? Many thanks. Andy.

I am Struggling to understand the module logic if somebody could shed some light on why one action works for one assignment and yet not another and yet can I assign a latched switched to a Fuel pump to be on when pressed and off when released ( pressed again to let it spring out) a simple state on or off however I can only use the Toggle state for the same style switches wen I assign to Gen, Eng Bleed, anti ice wing and eng APU master SW and APU start, if I use on and off they cycle after a few seconds if the switch is pressed from and off position to an on position (latched) they correctly register as on but then promptly go off on pressing the …

On the summary page its says fsuipc set up required. On settings page it says FSUIPC not set I have downloaded the latest version of FSUIPC and it installed correctly as I had to enable the module on FSX-SE start up Everything functions ok with Linda and can assign buttons etc but no FSUIPC means they obviously dont work. Also the "make changes for you" box is greyed out Any ideas anyone?

Hello everyone, Less than a month ago, I update LINDA 1.3 to version 3.0.1 but now my Saitek Multi Panel is failing. Now when I turn the rotary knob to the left or right, the button lights begin to blink and the panel numbers showme meters and feet and vice versa while continuing to turn the rotary knob. Hi fellas, can anyone help me? I have installed Win 10 and P3D V4 with the VRInight MCP 2 Boeing Combo for the NGX 800 with LINDA. It appears to be working OK with the newly downloaded version of LINDA, but when I come to start the NGX, the MCP bursts into life but none of the switches work. I have run the VRInsight drivers and selection panel, where you choose the aircraft from a drop down list. I'm sure it's finger trouble on my part. Can anyone offer any help? Thanks.

Everytime that I create a new mapping / assignment and press "Save", at that exact moment both Linda and P3D lose connection to my joystick and I need to hot plug it. Any ideas of what could be causing this? On the latest version of Linda / P3D / FSUIPC... and a brand new install of all of the above on a fresh Windows 10 setup. Any hints?
