Hi folks I was just wondering if there were any guidelines or even rules of thumb about when one would entertain doing an overweight landing following an emergency/malfunction/tricky situation after departure. I know these things are ultimately down to a captin's discretion - they're paid that much to make those decisions - but in real life I only fly little GA aircraft and have no real world experience of operating massive airliners that routinely takeoff massively above MLW. How much over MLW can you be in, say, a 777 or a 747, before you risk gear collapse or other calamity? Hello PDMG I have one small question. Will the new 747-8 include electronic flight bag as option and will it incloude airport map on navigation display? The post from 2015 says that the bird will encloude majority of things that Boeing offers,so just wondering will it incloude this features. Thanks in advance for replies

Hello Has anyone taken the plunge with the hardware in this setup and seen the results when used with the PDMG 777? I've seen a video on you tube of it working and it's impressive but the jet is just a default 747 I have also seen someone here with this setup on the PDMG 737 with an issue around the speed brake but doesn't really mention much about the rest of the jet... MCP, FMC, overhead for example I know PDMG 777 was never made with VR in mind, but still... the direction of leap motion + Oculus is certainly cheaper than building 1/2 a cockpit any reviews out there team?

I didn't notice when my problem happened. My yoke sitting idle, is shaking, yanking left and right. When I try to turn the yoke it goes hard left or right. I can't fly with it. Calibration doesn't work. Just wondering if any one has had this problem. Thanks Stanford.

Speaking specifically of the QOTS II. I tend to go into the OC after first install and download the handful of liveries I actually fly and then pretty much never open it again. So unless I read about an update here, how are you supposed to know if one is available? Maybe it would be a good idea to have the FMC screen give a message on first startup that there are incremental updates to the aircraft ? Just an idea, not sure how feasible it is.

On Friday afternoon I opened the Ops Center and was notified that an update was available so I went ahead and updated it. After the update was completed I attempted to restart it and nothing was coming up on the desktop. After a couple more minutes of waiting I went into Task Manager and saw that the process was running but I had no UI, so I attempted to stop it from Task Manager. When that didn't work I opened the command prompt and tried a taskkill command, twice. My PC would not respond to a soft reboot after attempting the reboot three times. I ended up having to do a hardware shutdown which definitely is not the proper way to shut down a PC. When I powered up t…

Hi to all, The integrated weather radar in the QOSII is a great feature and I understand that it usually adjusts the tilt automatically according to the current phase of flight, however I didn't find out so far how I can adjust the tilt (and gain) manually. Where is the corresponding button/switch? Didn't find anything in the manuals. Any help appreciated. Best regards Maik Berchtold

Hi everyone, Hi everyone, I need help on how to make FSX keep or save my PMDG 747-400 keyboard command settings. When I setup the keyboards combination it only works for the present session, when I close the program and re-open all of my key settings is gone. To avoid any interferance I delete the FSX pre-set keys combination in order to use them in the PMDG add-ons Keyboard Commands, but they don't remain after closing the program. Is there anyone for the 777 and 747? I have the intention to buy the 747 but at the same time afraid its VAS footprint is similar to the 777 one, which for me is currently a NO GO in most situations. The 737 on the other hand is totally issue free in this regard. Thanks.

I have been spending a lot of time in Orbx Alaska. P3D, superbly enhanced with Orbx World scenery, along with AS16+ASCA and PTA has kept me enchanted, whilst the thermometer outside continues its inexorable climb. Here are a few photos I wanted to share…. First, the descent into Fairbanks, which started at 30DME from Nenana. The Nenana River is just ahead, with the cloud deck just above. A slow series of 1-2 minute 1”MAP reductions has me finally at 30” MAP and 2000RPM with airspeed controlled at 210 and a gentle 3-400FPM descent underway. The cowls are tightly shuttered and the CHTs are hovering at a comfortable 185-190. I have just switched back to the main…

When I try to install and run PMDG 777 and PMDG 737 I am told that activation is denied as the maximum extra activations has been exceeded. These are boxed sets and there should be no limit on the number of times it can be loaded to FSX. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

PMDG I am now heavily involved with the 747 and of course its the best plane for P3D!! I can't stop! I am curious to know how things are going with the 748 and if you have a timeframe, not a deadline but merely a timeframe. Also I am not sure I saw or heard of this, but will you do incremental updates to your 777/737 aircraft so that they reach the same heights as the Queen? I mean the ground handling for example is a dream and I would love to see the same done for the 777 too. Otherwise I will never start flying the 777 again :D

I have the PDMG 747, 777,737 NGX for P3D and been having some trouble with the weather radar function - on the 777 seems to be working (when I start a flight I will activate the radar with the WRX button (I think) - then I hit test on the middle console and the radar will fire up and run its test sequence - I have managed to get it working on the 777 but when I try it on the 737NGX I can switch the radar on (green letters appear on the screen - however when I hit the test key nothing happens - so I am not really clear if the radar is working properly? anyone any ideas how to fire it up properly?

Hello PMDG, I just wanted to send an E-Mail to [email protected] , but the Mail was not delivered. It´s silly right now, cause I don´t want to post my serial here, which I did in my Mail. My problem is: I tried it about 10 times and I´m sure the activation key was entered correct (747 QOTSII) but it still gives me an error. There are also cockpit parts missing, such as in the 777. I alsready activated this product successfully but I had to reinstall P3D, as a result I had to do so with the 747 as well. And no: It´s not a crack. I still have got the E-Mail on my PC and a copy of it in my room. So please don´t start posting: Go and buy it. …

Hi all, I have just purchased and set up a brand new computer purchased from my local computer retailer. It's got Win 10 Home. I've installed FSX Deluxe Edition - no problem. Then I installed the Acceleration Expansion Pack - problem! It won't pring up the activation box after installation. I get an error message: "ERROR CODE 1-80004005" and won't take me to the activation screen. I know this isn't a PMDG problem, but there's a lot of smart people on this forum and I don't go on other AVSIM forums (or I didn't - I just did a search without finding a solution), so I hope someone can help me out here.
