I have just ordered a matched pair of ram to make my total 4mb.I have read the supplied advice that comes with the PMDG MD11 regarding extra ram.Does this advice still hold good?It says to download from (http://www.ntcore.com/4gb patch.-php) the patch and runit navigating to the FSX.exe file (after backing it up).They then say go into MY COMPUTER but I think that they mean boot.iniand add /3gb to a particular line. This is all clear and I will do this. Can anyone tell me1.What does running the 3gb.exe file actually do as on many other posts on this forumtalk about going into the boot.ini as above but no menetion of the 3gb patch utility.2.Also whereas the PMDG say…

Having trawled through various sites, i've come up with no less than four different SIDSTAR files for Kai Tak.Does anyone know which or where is the most current and/or accurate of these?Thanks

Hi Folks, I am currently seriously thinking about to buy a Gaming Laptop to have allways my flight sim with me (... I have to travel a lot in my Job and in the evening in the hotels are a little bit boring...;-)....)So have anybody experiences with a actual Gaming Laptop to start the FSX or FS9 ? A general query to the PMDG team, and I suppose anyone who cares to comment.Would you, PMDG that is, consider doing a Business Jet?While I enjoy the F1 Mustang, I would love to see a PMDG quality jet such as one of the Hawker range or perhaps a Falcon 900!A good long range, dedicated and fully simulated biz jet would be an awesome addition to FSX.Would PMDG consider doing one of these?(P.s, just a query... :( )

I am migrating FSX over to W7 on a dual boot system, and I must have deleted by 747x and MD11x downloads. The PMDG site recognized that I purchased these and (reasonably and rightly) states I need to buy the extended download. The problem I am having is that I appear able to load these into my shopping cart, but when it comes to hitting the check out button, it says my cart is empty. When I go back to the "shopping" screen, the items are in my shopping cart. Is there something I am doing wrong?James Nicholas.

Hi Guys - I know this is not an PMDG-specific thread, but id thought id share this anyway.Personally, i find the water reflection in FSX a little bit too reflective on the High settings.I found this free plugin that lets you adjust loads of water-specific settings in FSX.This has given my water a huge realism boost! So with NEW runway additions such as 34L/16R at KSEA the existing Navdata in FS9 (FMCWP) and PMDG Sid/Star info isn't accurate. The data out there is for a two runway Seattle. Easy enough to change the L and R to Center to get the two runways to act correctly in the FMC but this does nothing for the new runway. Essentially this is because the game itself doesn't know anything about the new runway. This would be the same with custom built fictional airports and runways. Ultimate question is how do we add these airports and runways? Is there a tutorial or anywhere in these forums where this topic has been addressed? Searches yield nothing thus far. I have the Plan…

Hey guys, Was just curious which PMDG's do you own? Which would you say is your favorite? And why?For Me:FSX: 747-400FSX: MD-11747-400 is my Favorite still, but then again, I have just started with the MD-11. I have always loved the 747, all models. I think it's also the feeling of accomplishment of getting this big beast from A to B. Lastly, was my favorite as a kid (747--300 back then though :( )Still debating on the JS41, I'm sure I'll get it, but rather learn and commit the MD-11 to memory first before attempting another ;-)

Now that the AVSIM library seems to be fully functioning, the latest US Collection of SIDSTARS is available in the FS2004 Flight Plans section. Easy way to find them is to do an extended search on author name = Dan Downs and sort the result by date.I have made a change to the way STARS are named to accomodate the JS41. In the past, my custom arrivals had the runway added as a suffix and the original 'as published' arrival (which always require ATC vectors) was always available but without a runway suffix. HalloAll of a sudden, when I start a PMDG X flight, all panel display (MFD,...) keep black. I don't know what happened and since when this occurs. I checked my dll.xml but all (three ?) entries seem to be correct. What I realized, when opening a PMDG flight, normally a small window appeared (" Loading PMDG navdata , ...) - this does not happen anymore. Hi,I plan to purchase the PMDG 747-400 for FSX shortly, by direct download., and install on my HP laptop. I have a couple of questions about the activation process:(1) Can I download to another computer, copy the files onto a CD and then install on my HP laptop, and then activate the software?(2) I plan to assemble a high-end desktop based gaming system a month from now. Will I be permitted to re-install the software on this second personal machine?Thanks.

Hello fellow simmers,I am trying to re-open this discussion, as I have not been able to completely remove the annoying head latency/movement in virtual cockpit up to this date.I have set all the values to 0 in fsx.cfg, and disabled the momentum effect in all cameras of cameras.cfg and also the aircraft.cfg. All the other latency is removed, but I still get the head movement when YAWing the airplane. This is especially apparent when making tight turns during taxi, but also occurs in flight. Has anyone managed to completely remove the head movement, and how to achieve this? It is indeed very annoying when your view perspective changes during flight.

What is FSUIPC? I have numerous a/c add-ons, Saitek yoke and throttle quadrant so do I have FSUIPC? I have done a Vista search but found nothing. Is it something that I need and should get? I'm lost as usual.Thanks,Eric Olson

In the last days I have tested serveral OS with the FS and now I have reached the activation limit of my 747 (and maybe also my 747F and MD11). The 747 is locked and could not be reactived. Ok, First, apologies for yet another sound crackling topic.I've been reading through the tons of topics related to the subject of the crackling sounds, but did not find anything that helped me.Untill now, I've always been lucky and didnt suffer those craclking sounds.The problem started to occur suddenly, and the strange things is it occurs ONLY WITH 2D PANELS.At first I noticed it with the PMDG 747s, but realised while testing other add-ons like the Carenado's, that it affects all aircrafts including default ones.When in 2D cockpit view, the sounds are crackling. Hi I'm relatively new here. I've been looking at the MD-11 reviews and manuals and am seriously considering buying the software soon. I have a slight problem though in that I do not have my own internet access. I use either the public library or a friend of a friends computer. If I did buy the MD-11, would I be able to use it without having internet access? I understand one needs to activate it online?
