Ok, Firstly this is not about what sim is better etc etc, I would just like some honest feedback from people that have used both sims (Heavily modded)I own FS9 & FSX but 99.9% of my time is flying the PMDG MD11 in FS9, everything is tweaked perfectly, I have my sim networked over three machines with a huge amount of add-ons and I have been very happy with my current setup I7 over clocked to 4ghz only 3gig of ram as I am on XP 32bit ATI 4870 512m.It's rare when it happens but last night after spending two hours in preflight and an hour into cruise Bam! the system OOMS on me. So I've been thinking I have been putting it off long enough and I should move to Windows 7 …

Basically when I takeoff should the thrust maintain V2 or V2+10. Also does the VCL speed kick in when above a certain altitude obviously restricted by 250/10000. I really just want to understand why the plane does what it does on takeoff because it feels like it just does it's own thing sometimes in terms of speed.

Hi, I can't remember the last time I was able to fly the default FSX C172 but now whenever I click on it to select it, FSX crashes. I don't know why! I don't really want to have to run the FIX disc that came with FSX because last time I did that I had to completely reinstall FSX and ALL my addons because it stopped working. I don't know if it was because I didn't run the FIX disc for Acceleration or what. But anyways, any suggestions on what I could do to make the Cessna work again?Thanks,Jeff Smith

Heya peops, I have FSX and loves it of course but just ordered FS9. I never really toyed around with it since I lost one of the discs before the 2nd install came around, then I dropped below radar for a while and came back to FSX. Anywho, I kind of need it to test my liveries when I make them for FS9'ers, and figured it would be nice to have both anyway. I have a couple questions though, being new to both installs on one box. Do I have to do anything specific for the install running both FSX and FS9? I remember reading someone with issues on an install order or something, but can't find the post. I'm having a little problem creating my own paints for the PMDG 737. For some reason I can't get the belly texture and the fuselage texture to match up correctly. Ive checked numerous times that the the color I'm painting with for both textures is the same. HiI'm planning to switch to 64bit OS, and could somebody tell me what I could expect with 64bit OS.Also which one do You prefer, XP64 or W7 64.The main thing is fs9 stability and compatibility with payware a/c and scenaries.I don't care about visual look.Thanks in advanceEdin

Hello pilots!It's only a single question.As the Microsoft Flight Simulator development team isn't anymore working, don't you think to do a jump to X-Plane in a few years??If X-Plane would have a PMDG plane, i would do the change.Because, honestly, FSX is a Great Simulator, but also a very old one, that requires lots of comouter specs to run perfectly...Thank you for your attention.

I was thinking today about the big question is the NGX going to be built for FS9, I know PMDG is going to decide that at a later time, I do not use FS9 that much anymore and probably would not get it, but still I wonder. I don't think you can use polls or make comparisons with other products to gauge profitability on a new product. Unfortunately you have to make the product first and see if it sinks or swims. Though its been said that sales for PMDG fs9 products are down I think the NGX proposes a unique case. I don't want to see PMDG miss out on a gold mine or lose money. This one is for the developers or anyone who is an expert in aircraft.cfg's.I bought the shockwave lights a few days ago and they have some instructions on installing these lights in add on aircraft, including the 747. However, after trying their method, I get misaligned strobes on the wingtips when the aircraft is in flight, because of the wing flex and the nav lights are close to the engines and slightly forward.I have found another way to fix it by making a copy of the appropriate shockwave light in the effects folder, backing up the relevant PMDG light and renaming the shockwave light to the new PMDG light. I have been using the PMDG 747-400X now for about a month and I love the detail and the systems. I would like to purchase a regional aircraft to go along with my "Queen of the Skies."Would any of you have a recommendation as to which addon to purchase that shows the same level of detail and FMC capabilities as the PMDG 747-400X?Thanks for any help.

If I use afcadttools for fs9, and wanted to change the ILS frequency how do I change it in the fmc database? I notice that some add on payware airports have duel frequencies for both ends of the runway. Example simflyers kphl. I edited the runways by unclicking enable backcourse. It worked fine. I want to give some airports a ILS frequency which do not have any. I know that takes away from landing yourself but hey just wanted that option. If I can change the ILS do I have to recompile anything such as fsnav? The fmc?

For a long time ago now I'am flying on all the PMDG aircrafts such as the very first B737Ng, passing by the B747-400 and the MD11 of course ! What I would like to know today is if the PMDG Dev's Team has the idea to develop the B777-200/300 ? This aircraft has been completely forget in FS world ! Of course we have the PSS or the Wilco, but you know guy's PMDG can make 100 times better ! I know the Team is actually busy with the B737 NGX , anyway maybe will see this bird on time on FS9 or FSX.Cheers,Josua Duval.

Hi all, Hope this is the right place: I had a bad surprise this morning: my HDD (Seagate/Maxstor Diamond max 22, 500gb) was affected by a bug in the firmware (HDD with a firmware?? Gotta go back to school... http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/self...sp?DocId=207931 ) and disappeared from the HDDs detectable from the BIOS. Result: the HDD is unrecoverable and my PMDG airplanes are lost. I've bought the 744, the MD11 and Js41 (of course all FSX editions, and I have had also the NG for FS9).
