Hi Rob,PMDG team and Pilots Greetings From Melbourne, Australia. I am a loyal PMDG customer for nearly 5 yrs now. I fly PMDG 747-400. I think it is the best Boeing made for flight sim. I I want to ask a question regarding hand flying Boeing jets . I have seen lots of cockpit videos of various boeing aircraft like 747,767 and 777. Some pilots are resting their elbow on the armrest while handflying with the yoke. Others are keeping the armrest in the up position. In all Airbus From A318 to A380. The pilots are required to use the special ouboard armrest while handflying with sidestick. The sidestick is very sensitive so the pilots are required to use the armrest.I is…

Edit: Figured I'd put the link to the video here up top to find it easier than sifting through my babble.Ok, I had to share this with others that may not have seen it and more importantly see what others theories might be to some of the HUGE discrepancies here. Talk about Pilot error(s).Here are the biggest problems that jump out at ya.1.) The pilot supposedly thought he was landing at Atlantic City Int but instead landed here (not sure where this is actually).2.) Hi all,I was just wandering what all of you PMDG pilots do on a long flight ( assuming most of you are on VATSIM ) while the autopilot is on. Flights can be as long as 40-1hr but others can be 3-10hrs long. So when sitting there watching your plane what do you do to pass the time.ThanksEdward

You guys have any plans to put out a flight manual for the 747-400 product like the MD-11?

I've ported over all the flightplans I generated for the 737 and 747 FMC's. All these were generated in the FS9 program with FSNavigator installed, then nicked from the PMDG FLIGHTPLANS folder and pasted in to the FSX, PMDG FLIGHTPLANS folder. They're working fine but I have to re-jig a few altitudes, here and there. I guess I'm asking anyone in the know, if these flightplans are, in fact quite valid in the FSX FMC's...or is there something to look out for?Jon Shearer

Recently my pc crashed and I lost cumulated four years files and many addons. I cannot find my PMDG product order numbers and date of purchases. PMGD Customer Support Paul and his team find my all products even some of them I forgot I had them. and provided to me download links blink of eyes. That is an excellent job. Not sure if my machine is in a state of suspended animation but I noticed our post count appears, well on my machine, to be frozen at a number regardless of posts. For example, sorry to use you Ryan, but TABS Nov 11 2009 shows posts at 6641, and at Jan 20 2010, 6641 still? and today's date still 6641. When looked at every ones posts; the same, all frozen in time....Regards

hey guys, iv decided to get rid of my amd phenom ii 965 seup and change it to an i7 980x rig in an attempt to finaly max out fsx, iv got an ati 5870 atm, but was considering a change to the gtx 480. im wondering which of the 2 cards provides the better image quality in fsx. with the 5870 iv always had flickering issues, terain and scenery not blending in, and sometimes i couldnt even get catalyst to force higher AA and AF. havent used an nvidia so can anyone please share any experineces to hekp me guide which one of the 2 cards has better image quality, NOT performance. my systems to change to is here:http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/7040/pci7.jpgthanks guys.Kaveesh

A few years ago, I could have sworn that PMDG said (Robert I believe) they were going to come out with an A320 series airplane along with a potential family of Airbuses. However, it's obvious PMDG has changed course on this.Am I imagining this?Thanks,Kevin

Im guessing thatt he NGXwill have real time re-fueling like the MD-11? This I think would be more important on the 737 than the MD11 as you have to turn it round sometimes in only half an hour.Another cool thing that I was thinking of the other day is realtime pax and baggage boarding. You set how many Pax and Bags and click START BOARDING, and your aircrafts weight will increase untill all bags and pax are on bord and it will say BOARDING COMPLETED.To add more realism to this feature you could increase the boarding speed if the both the rear and front doors are open and reduce it if only boarding through the front door. And you will need to complete it by having an UNBOA…

Fellow SimPilots,I have sorted out most of the problems with FSX under W7, the Queen 747-400 still being the most stable bird on my system (J4100 still running, MD11 discontinued, LevelD767 and SimCheck A300 also present). After some uninstalls and re-installs I wonder whether my Visual C++ libraries may have become somewhat disorganised. I have seen PMDG's work with the MD-11. Personally, I think they should take on the popular 717 model from Boeing as well. It represents that latest in short-haul technology (interestingly, since it is based on a 40-year-old design) and the latest in the DC-9 lineage. What does everybody else think?Obviously, this would have to happen after PMDG's current projects (737, 777, Dash-8), unless they shelved it do to a ridiculous turnout on this poll. BTW-this won't happen! Just checking to see how others feel about this, especially since the only decent 717 out there comes for Vans Aircraft Company. I was just wondering how far out from an airport will a STAR approach be assigned. Does this happen before the descent phase of flight? I was also wondering how far out from an airport you can get ATIS information. I know that with using Radar Contact you won't be able to find out which runway is in use until you are within 75nm from the airport. Do pilots get this information from other sources besides ATIS? I've noticed in a 737-400 youtube video the crew began the Approach briefing before beginning the descent. With FS2Crew, in that briefing, the STAR,IAP and runway condition are all discussed.Thanks,Chris Porter

Hi pmdg team, i feel obliged in compiling this post. during the time scale in developing the forthcoming products, i have been browsing the net looking for a product aircraft as a filler for the meantime, without mentioning any developer names, i have failed to find any product that comes near to anything produced by the PMDG Team.
