Hi,Good to have another great PMDG bird available to fly :-). Thanks forreleasing it.Ok after that much flattery (hey its a lot for me! ;-) ) to my questions.During climb and descend with Autopilot/Autothrottle i notice thenose oscillates up & down quite a bit. The bird never settles into a steady climb or descend. Tried it with a few different speeds, altitudes. Always same effect. If i mess around in the Legs window of the FMC (adding/ removing waypoints) i often get a FMC Exception caught in DLLDraw tag 8.Any hints about the cause of these 2 things are highly appreciatedHappy flyingAndy:-)

Hello PMDG Folks, The latest B757 is great. Thank you.I have the B777 and took the update. It installs fine except for the upgrade to the manual. It tells me that the previous version of PMDG777Manualv20.pdf, is not valid!! I have this pdf sitting in the PMDG folder where I think it would be looking for it. I also executed the PMDG777Base211Update1 from that folder.I would really like to keep my B777 doco up to date. Can you assist, please.Regards,Jock McIntyre (YMML)

to the PMDG team my hats off to you on this one. This has to be the single best addon I have EVER used. This is first addon I have owned where I really felt like I was in the aircraft simulated. The art work is stunning, the flight model is a awesome, the sounds are wonderful.I have not had a chance to program the FMC yet but my reason for this post is because I noticed 3 flaws which may or may not have been talked about.1.The front nose gear stays turned to the left and does not retract.2.It may just be me but I always thought of the 757 having smaller passenger windows.Iam sure it's actually proboly to scale for FLY2 but it just seems a "bit" to large.I went to airliners.ne…

I can't seem to manage the 757 speed with the autothrottles! I was a pro at doing it in the 777, why is this so hard? I am certain I have everything pressed correctly (just like the 777) - I have the A/T switch armed, I dial in the correct speed. It seems to work FINE - until I start to descend. Once I get below 10000 ft, it starts to go slower & slower that whatever I have set in the speed setting in the MCP. I try pressing the dial for speed intervention, & it seems to just bleed speed. It seems to work flawlessly until I get below 10000 on the descent. ALSO: I can't seem to get the altitude to release on the final approach. Once I hit the APP & loc …

Hello all,my question is about flying a SID. How can the marked informations on a SID chart be interpreted and how do you need to fly them.Let's say I load a user defined SID to the FMC and use VNAV and LNAV for departure and climb. Do I really need to fly (like the example pic below) those altitude restrictions? For example to level off at 5500 after take off and fly at 5500 to D15MDF and so on? Are they "at" or "at or above" altitudes anyway? If ATC gives me higher altitudes, what would the appropiate A/P mode be, since VNAV is related to the information in the flight plan?Do I need to change every single waypoint in my flight plan if ATC give me another alt?How do I ne…

Gents-For those eagerly awaiting the arrival of the PaintKit, I hope you can be patient just a short while longer... ;-)I was planning to have it released by this afternoon, but I am trying hard to incorporate some suggestions made by Pete and Grant during the PaintKit1 useage. This paintkit has to cover not only day models- but night models as well- so it is taking me a bit longer than I'd thought to make it work. ;-)Robert S. I didnt want to post any of the confirmation info but can e-mail that information if required.ThanksKevin

Hi everyone, last night while I was approaching RWY 07L at EDDF in the new 757,I got the following error: "PFD: FMC has ILS tuned, but can`t getlocalizer key. This should NOT happen."What does this mean? I tried changing to RWY 07R, but the same problem. See pic below. Any help would be much appreciated.Regards, Rodger :-wave

You may have been following my posts regarding my ILS CAT IIIproblems with the 757. Well, as I was attempting to reprothe problem last night, I noticed that my hard drive lightbegan to flash like mad, and performance began to drop - anindication that Fly! was swapping to disk. So, I decided torun Performance Monitor during a session, and lo and behold,I've found that Fly! was leaking memory in a MASSIVE way!!I've never had such issues with FLy! before, so the majorsuspect is the 757.Take a look at the following PerfMon screenshot, and you will seethat the "Virtual Bytes" peaks out at 1.3 GB! Whoa!Hey, if you PMDG guys need help tracking down the leak, I'mmore than willing…

Hi -With the PMDG 777, I felt the A/T was too frenetic, such that, for really long hops (like Durban, South Africa to Las Vegas, Nevada), I'd turn the A/T off to save fuel. I found that trying to make that hop with the A/T on ate up too much JP! I find the opposite problem with the A/T on the 757: It's asleep! To wit: Flying from PHIK (Honolulu, HI) to KLAS (Las Vegas, NV), no METAR loaded, and no C4TO , just bare bones Fly!II, I climbed out to an initial cruising altitude of 31,000 feet (FL310), with VNAV on. The bird levelled out at the assigned altitude, and then red-lined on airspeed before cutting back on the thrust setting (ca. M=.850), and then spending the next …

Here I've shut down the left engine so quite obviously the EPR is 1. But looking to the right engine gauges you can see a decent level of N1% but no matter how much power that engine produces its EPR reading stays at 1.Matthew Vaughan

It's been a while since I've had the time to enjoy my PMDG products. Last week I was away on business travel and did not get to download the new 757 until two days ago. I had the chance to fly it for the first time last night.First off let me go back a bit: I absolutely loved the FLY!2K "sim engine". That engine - when coupled with Terrascene 1 was a great simulation base and "visual" package that was equally well complemented by the PMDG products. When the transition to Fly2 occurred - I was - shall I say - much, much more than disappointed. Lots of glitz - yes - but in my opinion - a serious loss in fundamental stability and no support for transitioning Fly2K scene…

Guys,I've attempted an ILS CAT III approach a couple of times, with the same results both times - the airplane lands tothe right of the runway! In both instances, the airplanehas begun drifting to the right (I've verified that the LOCmarker on my instruments was in fact deflecting to the left)starting at about 2000' and getting progressively worse downto the ground. One runway was 8R at KATL, the other 22L at KORD. (Anotherproblem, which may be Fly!-related, is that I wasn't ableto obtain a G/S with 22L at KORD - the G/S marker stayedpegged at the bottom the entire time...??)I've had a lot of experience flying ILS approaches withthe PMDG 777 (and other planes), and never h…

Question 1:Love the new bird! :-)A little different than the 777 I've been flying since the summer.3 questions:Are the autobrakes modeled in the 757? They seem to do nothing when I use them.#2: How do you get the chronometer to work? How can I change the modes within it (ie - stopwatch mode, etc)#3:Does the EPR button ever light on the MCP? Also, when should I be using EPR as opposed to the "Speed" button beneath it? I am geting some STRANGE results w/ the autothrottles when I am trying to land. If I have speed selected, the A/T seems not to work, & my speed continues to drop lower & lower to dangerous levels. Believe it or not, speed management seemed easi…

So I'm (still) considering buying PMDG's 757, but I've got a question for those of you who've downloaded it: how full is the navigation database? Are SIDs, STARs, and approaches included for the world, or are the only ones in the PMDG_SID_STAR_FP.zip on PMDG's website available right now?If the db is currently that limited, it would be nice to see a conversion of Prabal's data (hint, hint). :)Jon (KSEA)

Hello FLY! simmers,The PMDG forum is fairly quiet today, I suspect everybody is playing with their new toy. heheToday was my first real flight in the 757. KJFK to KSAT (San Antonio). I am a stick and rudder pilot myself in both real life and in FLY! I went ahead today and tried using the FMC in the B757 in this flight. I loaded the flight plan, assigned performance, departure procedure, climb, cruise, approach (STAR). Fantastic, it will take some reading and practice to understand the functionality and getting the procedures down. Here are some pics of my approach into KSAT, STAR into RWY 12L ILS. Environmental set-up was as follows:50 foot overcast ceiling with 2000 fo…

Hi,please help me to understand the 757 autopilot. There are three buttons to turn the A/P on (the three A/P ENGANGE switches on the upper right portion of the autopilot MCP). The switches are named L, C and R. Now, which switch is good for what? The 757 is my first airliner, this is a complete new world, but very facinating. Thanks to PMDG for bringing us that bird. Thomas
