Hi all, I'm a big fan of PMDG, you've done a great job on every aircraft! Since the beginning a major scenery problem appeared while using the MD11 in cloudy weather. I use REX Essentials + Overdrive as well. This problem recently 'expanded' to the 737NGX and the 747-400. I'm not sure wether this problem is from PMDG or REX and I have no idea how to fix this. I hope you guys can help me out with this... Huge thanks in advance!! Jimmy (I don't know how to upload images, if someone could tell me how, I can add some pictures of this problem!)

It's that special month of the year. 3 years ago the NGX was released, and...Happy birthday, Robert. Not sure if it was the 3rd or 4th, but what the heck.

Hi guys, I started a flight from Paris to Rio with the new PMDG 777 - 300. Due to the long trip I had to saved this flight two times. The first time as I load it, was everthing ok. The second time I wanted to continue with the flight I got this horrible surprise, that makes you cry! Once load it, there is no initialization time, no displays, is just sadly dead.... Have some of you experienced the same thing? any solutions to this problem? Thanks to all!

I don´t have any problem with the B777, but I have come a cross some stuff that has been reported elsewhere (mainly from the Majestic forum): FSUIPC - Update to the latest FSUIPC - Disable the autosave feature Graphics driver - Nvidia...Some drivers (301.xx - 314.xx) has been reported to cause freezes in FSX ( the latest version now: 340.52 - seems fine for me) Sounddrivers - Some Realtek soundrivers has caused pauses and stutters in the past. CPU Core - Affinitymask settings has been known to cause freezes with the Majestic Dash8-Q400 when set to 14 on quadcore CPU's, a setting of 7 has been reported to fix the issue. Regard…

Captains- A quick update so that you have an idea what is cooking behind the scenes.... We are hard at work on SP1b, which is a essentially a stability update for the PMDG 777-200LR/F and PMDG 777-300ER **software**, and also a stability update for the airplanes themselves... I have mentioned previously that we are not currently engaged in a "lets add 3,000 new fixes" development cycle- instead we are focused on making this a quick-hit to stomp out some items that did not appear during testing but have appeared in release. I had thought we would push this update to you last weekend but a confluence of events conspired to prevent that from happening- and we…

This is a technical question relating to surround sound and optical outputs. I have mentioned in a previous thread that I am running my sounds from my sound card via the optical output into the optical input of my home theatre sound system. I'd really like to see the benefit of the new surround sound packages for the 777 but I'm slightly puzzled by something, as I'm not technically knowledgeable enough to solve this... When I play a sound file which is in the Dolby Digital 5.1 format, my sound receiver annunciates that it is receiving a digital signal and plays it via all of the appropriate channels - front L/R, Centre, rear L/R and sub. This means I kn…

I find the most difficult part of manual landing, to keep the plane perfectly (horizontal) aligned with the runway. (vertical angle is no problem) I was wondering if there are any spots on the panel to give a rough feeling of the horizontal angle or do you only use the instruments. The funny thing is, when I am appraoching it feels if the plane is a a bit oblique (hope I translate this right)aligned to the runway but if I correct this and get closer I notice that the horizontal angle for the approach shift away to the left or right ending up not perfectly aligned and an urgent need to correct. Does anyone has a tip for me what helps if flying the 747 or 777. Rega…

I would like an addon that has regional accent, and that is primary for IFR. Would love to know what my fellow PMDG Pilots use for an ATC. Kinda getting tired of the FSX ATC at this point lol.

I want to say not only a big thankyou to, Craig Read for a great tutorial that has greatly inspired me flying the 747-400 but also, to PMDG for a great aircraft that is clearly the best simulation existing today.Craig's tutorial showed me more fuctions to the FMC than I would ever have found on my own.PMDG have set a bench mark that I am sure will not be bettered for a long time, with this aircraft. Thanks again to both. ;-)

For some time now the taxi and landing lights on ALL my PMDG products do not illuminate the ground. They work, i can see them lighting the aircraft but not the ground. When ALL the lights are on i can see some of the light on the ground but in bad resolution/low quality only in the area that is illuminated. This is only happening on the PMDG products. Every other aircraft works fine and in high quality detail. I have tried re-installing the aircraft with no luck. Please help and advice how i can get this fixed. Night time flying sucks for this reason. thanks Kevin

Quote from a comment he made on his youtube video: Try next time to raise the nose of the aircraft ONLY 2 degrees (you can see this on the PFD) and then retard the throttles, while keeping the attitude of the aircraft the same. You will see a smooth landing without stalling the aircraft. But you should use PMDG for this. FS is not good enough. If you haven't already you should check out his page on youtube. A lot of cool takeoff and landing clips with a KLM 747. http://www.youtube.com/user/SuredTPS: It's also a fun place to argue with the amateurish default fsx simmers who think they know everything. ;-)

After reading books written by airline pilots and watching cockpit dvd's I notice that before each flight the crew will preform various tests such as, flight control stby hyd, standby pwr, apu fire warn, eng fire warn, cargo fire warn, pressurization etc. but all of this is absent from the normal procedures section of the manuals for the 777 and ngx. Are these tests routinely performed by the crew before each flight in the real world? -Mike Iacovetta

Captains- I am initiating this thread in order to provide a bit more information on our efforts to squash some items that appear to be affecting some users. Please note that this is not intended to be an "all inclusive" thread, and as such you should refrain from responding to this thread with "have you looked at" or, worse, orders that I should examine some other item because it is not addressed here. Generally speaking we are vacuuming up reports from all over the forum and support. Okay- with that being said: We are currently focused primarily on issues of "display/cockpit/airplane freezes" and "FSX whole-sim pauses." PAUSING BEHAVIOR OF FSX: We are …

Dear all, even though this is not a PMDG specific problem me thinks, I hope my PMDG brethren can help me out. The problem lies with these rudder pedals. I have a feeling I get dragging brakes as it is now. Condition: I taxi out with my 777.....on purpose I avoid using the toe brakes. The aircraft accelerates on 25-27% N1 depending on weight. As PMDG have claimed it should. Very realistic and thank you PMDG. Now as soon as I depress the brake pedals the first time and release, say to slow down for a turn. The 777 keeps slowing down. Even after releasing the brakes. From that point on I need 30-32% N1 to maintain decent taxi speed. Any attempts to lower t…
