PMDG General Forum

  1. Good Evening!During the past few months, PMDG has expanded ranks to include three new team members! While most of you have probably noticed the subtle growth of PMDG during the past few months- but all the same, it is important that they be recognized directly, so.......Paul Gollnick has become a familiar name to nearly everyone at PMDG during the past 18 months, and many of you may recognize him from within this forum. Paul consulted with those of us developing the PMDG FLY! series 757 released in early 2002, and has continued that consultancy role during the development of the 737NG. As we have gotten to know Paul, it became apparent that he is always a valuable asse…

I have never seen them in the real flightdeck or were I missing something?Andreas Hermes (EDDH)

Hi folks, after a really long search in the forum without success i have 2 questions that may have already been asked, but probably i'm not even able to find the exisiting answers(and therefore i better let my hands off your bird):1) Will a load editor be included in the first-release-package?2) Will there be the possibility to change the measure units from lbs to kilograms in the FMC and the Fuel Quantity display in the cockpit? Thanks for your great work!!!Jens Bachmann (EDDT)

While we are finishing up the 737-700 model (yes, with airstairs!), I would like to take the opportunity to present to you the entire 737-600 fleet. Included are PMDG House Colors, SAS, Lauda Air, Tunis Air and Air Algerie. At the moment it looks like PMDG, SAS and Lauda will be included in the base package, and Air Algerie and Tunis Air will be free downloads on our homepage. Stay tuned for more information.EDIT- Below you will find the last airline to complete the fleet, Air Europa. Once you release the B737-800's do you intend to offer AA? I know they've forbidden payware use of their livery, but what about releasing a freeware version of it along with the base pack? Just wondering... Would be nice to be able to start flying right away and not have to paint it. :-lolCheers,Daniel Pimentel/FFGPainter. :)http://www.aa.com/content/images/home/homeLogo.gif______________________________"Whenever you find yourself in the side of the majority it's time to pause and reflect" - Mark Twain

Dear pmDG (I believe I did the capitalizing right?), only from past experiences, I have seen developers relase the manuals a little bit before the actual product was going to be relased, so people could see how to fly the planes before we were able to buy them. I.e we get fimilair with the systems and then can just download and fly when its relased. I was curious as to if you were planning to relase the manuals early? Also, on your panels i see like 10 letters above the pilots CRTs. I was curious as to their functions, do the select other panels? thanks a ton, really looks great!

  15. Hi Robert,There has been heated discussion on Flight1 forum related to their latest product - Piper Meridian. Contrary to what some of us recall from our flying experince lowering flaps on this simulated craft causes a pitch *down* moment. I am curious how it matches your vast flying experience ?BTW, this is what I found on the subject on some internet site:Just adding flaps will cause an aircraft to pitch up or down depending on how the change in lift and drag created is positioned around the center of gravity. Flaps lowered on high-wing usually cause a nose-up pitching moment as the camber changes the lift around the center of pressure. The resulting drag also causes a …

I'm curious about this as well - to date the PSS Airbus is the only FMS that's attempted to simulate psuedo-waypoints. (to varying degrees of success depending on the particular procedure)For example, the west-flow BXK1 DP out of KPHX begins with a left turn to hdg 240 upon reaching 1550 MSL, followed by a right turn to hdg 280 passing 13DME PXR - will the FMC be able to depict this? (I have seen it programmed in a 757)It'd be awesome if you guys were able to implement this kind of thing and make it easy for us to edit the procedure database. Thanks!Ryan

May I ask you to post a screenshot with the FMC visible and a route loaded so we could see it on the EHSI (I would just like to see how it appears in comparison with the real cockpit).Your NG is a VERY promising product in my opinion! The liveries are the best I have ever seen. May I kindly ask you how the different cockpit views will look? What kind of graphics will you use? I PERSONALLY love these side views as they are used in PIC767 and DF737, will you have similar ones? BTW, I would like to thank you for a fantastic forum support already before the NG is released at all!Andreas Hermes (EDDH)

PMDG Please Respond!!!Like others I'm anxiously awaiting the release of your new fleet. However, as a cockpit builder to take full advantage of your extended systems I need to know if switch functions will be keyboard assignable. To date, I have asked this question *** 3 times *** and not yet has anyone from PMDG bothered to respond. I have asked twice on forums and once via your customer support email.I know you're busy with the release pending but I would really appreciate an answer. In my mind this is one key advantage of Wilco's PIC over DF's fleet (and others), practically everything was keyboard assignable.Hoping to get an answer.Kevin

Hi folks,I noticed there's a post on the general forum regarding the new 737NG release, with some making comments relating to VC's in general and whether or not the VC is a preferred feature in new releases.I just wanted to say, that personally, i wont even consider installing a new plane these days UNLESS it has a very high quality VC. It's not about eye candy...its all about perception and depth while looking out the cockpit window for me. I feel that a quality VC used in conjunction with Active Camera really gives you the illusion of "being there"...you can pretty much "feel" and "see" when you touch down and lift off, and the visuals on final are much more realistic a…
