Folks:The PMDG manual states that the MTOW is ~133K lbs. But then on the page that gives V1, Vr, V2, it has speeds for weights up to 70K kg, which is ~155K lbs.I checked Boeing's website and discovered that the 737-700 must come in several variants because there are MTOW's of ~133K and ~155K.So, which one do we have? The FS2004 fuel/payload adjuster (the one that's part of FS9) allows up to 155K before it states that the a/c is overweight. But the PMDG load editor says MTOW is 133KThere's all sorts of conflicting data, so which one is it???Thanks,James

Things I've noticed:1. Changing the Cost Index doesn't do anything as far as I can tell. It should change the climb, cruise, and descent speeds. The higher the Cost Index, the faster the plane should fly.2. The fuel estimates for TOD are way off the further the a/c is from the TOD. As you get closer to the TOD, the estimate continually increases and is finally accurate only when reaching the TOD point.3. It's not possible to enter a waypoint AFTER the arrival runway. This is necessary for inputing the Missed Approach fix. Thanks,James

Hi Gang, I'm having trouble generating new flight plans using FSBuild. What format is it suppose to be in? I read earlier down the line that it is supposed to be in PIC format? I'm not sure anymore. Right now I'm facing a situation that when ever I run the center tank to empty, my engines flame out, requiring an air restart! All of my fuel pumps are on, but the flow of fuel to the engines should be uninterrupted. That and I have VNAV climb issues :)Tim

Hello,There is a small error in the text file that should be added to the aircraft.cfg file that causes my Olympic Airways repaint not to show up, or to show up with the default PMDG colours.I simply forgot to change the texture line. So, to correct this, open the 'add_to_aircraft_cfg.txt' file and replace the 'texture=' with 'texture=oal'or if you have already installed it :Do the same replace in the aircraft.cfg file of the PMDG 737-700 aircraft but only for the entries that concern the Olympic Airways repaint.I apologize for the inconvinience caused.George DorkofikisAthens, Greece

PMDG,Can anything be done about the big frame rate impact of the PFD, ND, and EICAS displays? They look great, but on my P3-933 they really kill the frame rates. I'm running at about 7-8fps at altitude in 2D-only model. If I comment out any one of the 3 in the panel.cfg, my frame rate jumps up to 12-13fps. With all 3 commented out, I can achieve my lock of 20fps and everything is very fluid. The thing is, I don't want to fly on standby instruments all the time. One thing of note: the EICAS display hurts the frame rate almost as much as the PFD and ND. The thing of interest here is that the display is relatively static, with only a few small details changing at a rela…

Hi,I have purchased and installed the PMDG 737/NG on Fs2004, I am ready to fly. The problem is that I don't have any Navdata, as the Navdata wabpage is offline, I wonder if somebody would like to mail me the navdata folders. So I can go airborne ...Many thanks !!!Greets,Marnix

Like many others (aspecially new PMDG 737NG users) I was unable to find the SID/STAR database. Luckily Fred Clausen (BA747heavy) was so kind to send it to me. Looking at the thread (http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=136&topic_id=12664&mesg_id=12664&page=) it is obvious that many many others are still requesting Fred to send them the database. He doesn't mind doing so :-doh (thank you Fred!!). But why don't you make the database available in the AVSIM library or your own site? I know you are working on an updated version. However, I'm sure many of us won't mind using a somewhat outdated dbase untill a new one is available.Just a sugges…

Hi all,Just picked up the aircraft yesterday for FS2004 and had a number of issues to report though I don't want to spam the board with them if they have already been reported. Is there an outstanding bug list somewhere? There were two main issues and some other comments.1. The A/P lights on the MCP didn't illuminate when pressed, got myself in lots of problems before I notices that the switches were being activated (the PFD cues changed) I can't remember what I did, I think I alt+tabbed, anyway, after I did something like that... the lights were on and continued to work for the rest of the flight.2. The spoiler arming light doesn't appear to work. Also, I have a yoke ax…

How do you load saved flight plans? The flights are in the PMDG folder in the main FS9 directory.I followed the FMC Tutorial and saved a couple of short flights. I keep flying the same flights so as to make myself more familiar with the FMC.ThanksMalcolm George

Hello, I just downloaded the PMDG 737NG and I used the FS2004 Service Update. However, when I go to use the FMC no airports can be entered. NOT IN DATABASE. Now I am assuming this is because there is no navdata like what I used for the 767 PIC in the earlier sims. What folder is used for the FMC Database in FS2004? There is a PMDG folder created in FS2004 but I tried placing the data in there an still same error message. Also are there SIDs and STARs available for download anywhere? Is there a way to import FS2004 plans into the FMC?Thanks to all who can help me,Tom

Hello,I have today purchased and downloaded the 737NG and I am delighted with it. Unfortunately I can't download any of the data for the FMC because of the probs at the Navdata website.I was wondering if anyone could be kind enough to send me the required data and tell me, perhaps, where I need to install it to get the FMC fired up.If this is a prob, I do have the PSS airbus and Dash-8 so maybe I can use that data somehow? I wouldn't know, but perhaps it can be cannibalised in some way.Anyway, my e-mail address is [email protected] and there is no size limit on the messages : ) Many thanks in advance.Alistair

I am trying to determine the maximum TO weights of (say) the 737-700 NG. I find the following;-1.The aircraft load manager gives 133000 lbs.2.In the aircraft folder in fs2002 the Aircraft cfg. givesmax.gross wt. 153500.Also in this folder is B737 ref txt -giving max. ramp weight of 153500.(I am not sure if this last file is a PMDG file or was put there by FS Build)3.In the PMDG aircraft operating manual page 9 it gives 1330004. In the above page 12 it has a max. weight of 72000 kgs -about 158000 lbs.Question- which one is correct and if I change the cfg.of the load manager from 133000 to 153500 will it work correctly assuming along runnway such as Heathrow?Any thoughts o…

Anthony (PMDG):In developing a SID/STAR editor, I noted another grammar issue for which I'd like to get clarification from you. In translating the grammar to its operational meaning I noted the following:'fixentry' has the following acceptable production:hdg UNTIL RADIAL NB tofrom simplefixentryOperationally, I would read that as "Fly/maintain heading xxx until CROSSING radial yyy FROM abc". If this interpretation is correct then I do not understand why the grammar requires the 'tofrom' specification. By definition the radial emits FROM the NAVaid; therefore simply identifying the crossing radial provides sufficient information to determine the point at which the next …

Hi simmers!I've checked 15 previous pages of this forum, to be sure that my question hasn't been asked before:"How can I save or import/restore flightplans in the 737NG FMC?"In the root C:.....flight simulator 9PMDG folder there is a folder called "flightplans", but I don't know how to oprate the FMC properly! Also in the manuals I couldn't find a hint, how to do this! Thanks, any help appreciated!Rene BillianiAUA358

Hi, I had this system: Athlon 2100 XP, 512 DDR 333, Asus A7V333, Asus Geforce 2 GTS/PRO - 64 MBI formatted both hard disks and changed the system to: Athlon 2500 XP, 1024 DDR 333, Asus A7V8X-X Radeon 9600 Pro - 128 MBThe system is ok, but the framerate is almost the same or even lower comparing with the first system. Any suggestion? Specially with PMDG and other complicated aircrafts or scenery it is caotic: 10 to 12 frames or even a little bit less ...Thanks, Coimbra

I've searched the forum and there are couple of other threads on the subject, but I didn't find a definative answer. Are the failures on the drop down menu working?I've seen a few pwople mention the V1 engine failures work, but I have not tried these yet myself. However, I have tried and APU bleed failure, APU fire, Window heater overheat, Elec Hydraulic failures. I set them all initially to fail in 10 seconds, however, nothing has happened.I am running with the patch released today (Aug 03). I removed the first install with the utility, reinstalled form the origional files, then installed the SU1 patch.Has anyone been able to get these failures to work? Perhaps I'm mi…
