PMDG General Forum

Once or twice a week, I fuel up the -700 for a nice long range trip. However, I occasionally need to exit out of Flight Simulator to do something else, such as a bill payment, or emailing. If I hit the "Windows" key on the keyboard, that seems to minimize the program and I can restore it without much difficulty. Is this the proper method of pausing and minimizing the program? I won't lose any FMC data or autopilot information, will I?Roger

I just gotta say thanks to the team for bringing an excellent product. I have made 2 complete flights KSAN - KMIA and KSAN - KSEA and have not had a moment where I did not feel at ease. Hello All..I just recently bought, both your Boeing 737-600/700 and 800/900 series aircraft. Everything works fine, but then all of a sudden 45 min to 60 min into a flight, FS9 just closes without a warning or error report. Just pff dissapears. I have reinstalled both airplanes twice allready, problem still persist.Pentium 4 2.66ghz, Nvidia 5200FX 128MB, 512MB DDR ram.latest nvidia drivers.......latest FSUIPC registerd version.What could be causing this? Thanks for your continuing commitment to the flight sim community by creating quality aircraft.A couple of differences from the 737-600 and 700:1) I notice that something I am doing during startup is causing the flaps to fully extend. I then have to retract them to 5 degrees for takeoff.2) Upon takeoff, I am noticing crazy changes in wind direction causing the aircraft to fly all over the place. I am using Active Sky weather engine. This problem existed when you released the 700/800 series but then an patch corrected the issue. Am I experiencing the same problem again?Thanks for any assistance.

They are done. My first test flights with the -800. :) Everything has worked beautifully so far and the new features are stunning.What I really like in this new bird is it's stability compared to the -700. It really "feels" heavier, and acts like it. It sits to the runway smoothly with a very gentle flare.Such a pleasure to fly it... :)

Hello,I have been trying to download the 738/9 using DAP for a couple of days now and have been unable to. Is there anyway that this can be done as I was able to do it with the 736/7 as I can notfind a way to do so. I have a dial-up connection with a 2hr cut off time that limits me to using download accelerators for this size of file.Thank You.Ian Clarke

I have been trying to determine how you move laterally in the vc of the 800/900. I never really used vc in the 700. Can someone direct me to info on this matter as I would like to change my perspective in VC from the captain's seat to better see some parts of the displays. Thanks!Mike Marzett

Hi all,Can someone please clarify how to enter lat and longs into the FMC, I used to be able to do it as per Tim's tutorial but now it will not work.For example N50 55 81 W001 22 06 I think should be entered as N50558W00122.0 but all I get is NOT IN DATABASE. Like I say I was able to enter them but not now.I even got an error with Tims one, out of the tutorial N33405W01702.1Please help!Many Thanks, Garry.

Hello pilots,Just a realtime related question - is there any way to make a dingdong sound to PA speakers, example before some words by captain to the passengers? I know that some airplanes do have it, so maybe 737 has as well.

When I disconnect the auto throttle, the throttle on my joystick fails to function properly. If you move it, the engines go to about 70% N1 and stay there. You cannot adjust the throttle after that point.You can press numpad 3, and it will straight away engage the reversers, and you can increase with numpad 9. But you can't use the throttle.Any one else having this issue?Thnaks for any help.-Phil

I've had occasional issues with the non-operation of NAV and COM radio switches. Twice I have been unable to tune either the COM or NAV switches, although the transponder worked ok. Both times the COM issue wasn't critical because I fly with Radar Contact and the radios are usually tuned via that program instead of manually, but my ILS approaches were impossible because the NAV radios could not be tuned to the localizer freq. It was sort of interesting the first time it happened because I treated it as a failure and diverted to a field with VFR conditions, but the second time was just annoying. Hi all,Ok Ive got the TCAS turned on, but i dont seem to get any traffic,If I look at FSFlight keeper im seeing a ton of traffic and I get all the warnings through FSFlight keeper, but not on the plane. I have the TCAS mode set to FSUIPC, and FSUIPC is registered.any help would be great.EDIT****I know it only shows traffic in close proximity, but it wont show even planes that are 1 mile under or above me, even though FS ATC is giving me a trafic advisory.Jason

Hello, Downloaded and installed the new navdata in the correct directory, but , the display at IDENT pasge in the FMC still shows the old AIRAC cycle information, what changes is required to get the updated AIRAC cycle displayed correctly at IDENT page in the FMC?.Thanking You,Best REgards,Aftab.

I've read the manual, but am still trying to figure out how to set failures. I would like failures to be rare and random, but when I check the random box, go back into the sim, I've got a couple of failures already. Clicking on the random box brings up a time and type in the counter/type box as well. Should I first set the counter/type, then place a random check in the box?Thanks,
