Was reading about SELCAL: What is SELCAL? (vatnz.net) In PSX HF communications are simulated, but apparently nor MS FS nor XP model HF transmission. Thought it would be great to have it incorporated into XP12, natively... There's an exercise in PSX making use of HF for orientation when a 744 flight loses it's navigation capabilities due to some malfunctions, and the crew has to find their way into a remote Pacific island. Not SELCAL-related but still interesting 🙂 This details would surely add to the list of "professional" items already included in XP... P.S.: Alexis will soon be able to run XP11 at light-speed !!! ( just a side note 🙂 )

Hello, for some reason the engine start on the Flightfactor Airbus is not working without the ground power connected before. If I switch on both batteries, then the APU and the APU Bleed the engines are not starting. They are only starting when I have switched on and used the ground power unit before. I do not observe this strange behaviour with the FSLABS A320. Does someone have an explanation for this? Thank you! Best regards Andreas

I need help please with a strange problem. A visual waypoint on the Warbird approach into Oshkosh is missing in my installation of X-Plane. I am running the latest version of X-Plane. The waypoint is a small island in Lake Winnebego about 6.5 miles SE of KOSH, and has the GPS designation VPWAR. It is not a big deal, but it is bugging me that I can't find out why the island is missing. Over time I have installed various custom scenery packs. At this point I have deleted everything from the Custom Scenery directory, and restarted X-Plane to regnerate the scenery .ini file. The island is still missing. I upgraded littlenavmap to v6.2.11 and it was working fine. I am using Xplane 11.53. Everything was working fine, until I tried to adjust the windows and the map disappeared and I cannot get it back. I am not sure which button to get the map back. 😥. Any idea what I can do? Thanks, Kent.

Just reading about X-plane and the map feature. Saw you can position your plane anywhere on the map. Change alt sppeed heading etch. Does this work in demo of the software

Can someone explain the exact method of this add o. Simply replacing the default scenery folder does not work. Do you simply include in the existing folder so as to have an 8+ GB folder, or is there some other method? Thanks

Well, the improvements have started with the lighting. For me, it is just too little, too late, especially with the poor default scenery. I’m sure the number of devote followers is slowly on the decline, especially with all the improvements and mods now available for Flight Simulator.

Four years ago, I bought version 11,3. I have since then built a new computer and wonder if I have to pay another $60 to buy a key to the current version. I would assume maybe so, but am not sure.

Hello all, I have owned X-Plane 11 for a while now, but rarely fly it. The biggest reason I don't fly it is for the graphics. It just looks Awful, with my FS2004 install looking better (it's had ton's of graphics improvements). With that said, Could you put together a list of the must have addons? yes there are tons of them on youtube but they don't seem to make a big change. I am looking at the Sky environment, clouds, airports, etc. The clouds have always been the worst part of X-Plane to me, which is now amplified as I am a big MSFS2020 flyer, and a real world pilot. any input is appreciated. Hi, my return to flight simulation after over 20 years has been rather bumpy. I initially opted for Flight Simulator 2020 but am still thwarted by the throttle not functioning on propeller engines (my inputs with the Logitech throttles, the keyboard or the mouse directly on the throttle lever are working - the lever can in all instances be seen to move and the "subtitles" vary accordingly between 0 and 100 but the engine just died) while it seems to work ok on jets - that are way beyond my rusty skills. Just bought new computer Two sims will install is MSFS2020 which is not the greatest for reall IFR practice. My friend suggested X-Plane He built my computer and downloaded the demo to my E: drive. It runs. I want to change the drive letter from E: to F: Do I need to change anything in X-Plane to indicate this before I go ahead and do it? All the third party scenery and aircraft will I need to do anything? After the switch I will be purchasing X-plane

Without indication, my ILS approaches are not capturing the localizers or glideslopes at any airport. The flights break track from the gps guidance when either auto or manual select transitions occur, then wander off on tangents away from the intended track. I believe my settings are correct in every detail: x-plane data refs output, gtn settings, etc. i captured video of this and can provide it to help troubleshoot the issue. It worked fine until a few days ago.

New to Sim and x-plane this month but have tried to read everything possible, Youtube vids etc. Landing is difficult. Looks pretty easy on youtube. Here’s my setup: XP 11 on a new Mac, Honeycomb yoke, Logitech throttle. I’m sticking with the basic Cessna 176 and building up. I can fly around, navigate basically, understand the airplane, controls etc. So two problems keep me from landing: 1) on final approach, when Iput flaps down especially, it takes a lot of yoke pressure to get the nose down. I mean I can hardly push it hard enough with one hand. Sometimes the yoke comes off the desk! What should trim be in the final 1000 feet while descending? Any other ideas? …

I am learning helicopters in FSX but am looking forward to what’s next. I have MSFS 2020 installed for airplane flying but it is just too buggy and I am fed up with it. I have a 10th generation processor with 32GB RAM and a 3080 rtx graphics card. Is X-plane 11 a good choice? I also own Air Manager 4 to display panels on separate monitors and I think it should work with X-Plane. I would like to run Garmin g1000 bezels on it for planes that have that device. Also how is the helicopter flying in the sim? Thanks!

I see it is on sale so I might get it. In what way will it make things better. I tried the built in XP11 live weather earlier today and it seemed to be correct. Will AS make it even more accurate ? One thing in particular I would like is how is performance with it ? In default XP11 I have noticed a tendency for fps drops when getting close to clouds. Does it have cloud textures and are they an improvement over the default ?
