Hey all Just ordered my copy of X plane 10 and joystick today I have been searching around for multiplayer servers but have not found many, http://x-flightserver.net/ has been the only one which I have found with active players online. Does anyone have any servers they may play on or happen to know any other big servers that are available to beginners. Thanks all and have a nice day

Hello, I have a great interest in simulation games all over the board but i am very aware that flight simulation is probably the most difficult one to learn. My question is HOW hard is it to learn to fly, do i NEED to own a joystick and is xPlane the best software out there at the moment? I have no intentions of becoming a pilot in real life, i am just looking to enjoy a game. Thanks for help

Hi everyone, I just can't use X-Plane 10.10 RC3. It crashes to the desktop shortly after takeoff no matter what plane I am in default or add on and / or location. Is there something that corrects this? I have just about given up and back to FSX if this is an on going issue. I was thinking of deleting the main folder and reinstalling but need to go back to RC2 if possible. Otherwise, I am not spending any more $$ on addons until this is resolved. Any suggestions? Note: I just rebuilt my system, but have been running the program from my original external HD, so thinking maybe this is part of the issue??? I am lost right now. Thanks for any help. Best, Jeff

Been rather reserved lately, but it doesn't mean I haven't been active flying X-Plane10, mostly. My latest inccursion into the FSX world revealed to be yet another short diversion, nevertheless, I still admire the overall quality and detail that a simulator with 8 years is giving even after having long been abandoned by MS (as it appears to be usual lately...). Most of it's success results from the huge amount of add-ons, some of very high quality, both in terms of scenery and aircraft. I miss the LevelD767 in X-Plane10, but, from what I have been reading lately, add-ons like the CRJ-200 and now the 777 are on pair with the level of detail and quality achieved by LevelD.…

With Christmas not so far right now - well, I've got to be positive... - I believe I already filled my checklist for Santa, and it includes the 777. I would really like to read from you, already lucky 777 users, regarding your experiences, specially when it comes to long-haule flights, using RW weather. Tell me, is it really as good as it looks, system's wise, fm-wise, interface-wise, when programming and then flying an intercontinental flight, and then flying it in X-Plane10. I do not own X-Plane9. Looking forward for your posts ;-)

Is it just me and my monitor or are the clouds really rather white then dark/black at deep night? Is there a way to have dark clouds in the night? Thanks Flo

Hello guys, my problem is that the default B744 constantly rolls to the right for me. All control surfaces are centered, to make sure that's the case I use the Data Input & Output in XP. Even if I give the plane a left bank attitude, only moments later the plane is banking to the right. This is with XP10.10r3. I've also reinstalled XP10.02r1 from my DVDs and in that version the B744 flys as straight as it could be. Hi, I've tried using FS2XPlane to convert fsx sceneries to X-Plane, but a lot of airports are having blank runways as can be seen in the screenshothttp://dl.dropbox.co...17713/737_1.jpg .I'm showing the Pacific Island Simulations ZSAM. I have removed the ZSAM entry in default scenery apt.dat. It looks as if another layer of texture is on top of what is correct. Is there any way to make this work? Overlay editor did not help. You can easily track the Mag Decl at a location by going to this NOAA's site In X-Plane10 we need updated values. You can use X-Plane's DataRef Editor / Viewer plugin to check it "on-the-fly". Select the specific dataref by writing magnetic_variation (should be magnetic_declination) in the lower left corner of the plugin window when enabled in X-Plane10. I hope someone here can help me out. I wish to set up a phidget 64LED board for annunciator warnings. Most have gone OK so far but I can't seem to find a data ref that controls the "Rotor Brake ON" LED or the corresponding output data set through the UDP settings. Also, I can't seem to find the UDP setting that corresponds to the "sim/cockpit2/annunciators/low_rotor" data ref. I thought it might use the data points from the prop rpms but I can't seem to get it to work.( I am using the Simplugins plug-in that used the UDP settings to communicate with the phidget board) I am new at most of this so please forgive me for my noobiness. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I wonder if it is possible to define in Plane Maker a pt-6 like turboprop, in such a way that, according to it's real world counterpart, when at level flight adjustments are made to Prop RPM, FF stays constant? The C90 doesn't do it, and the old Kingair in xplane9 neither... Is there a good turboprop add-on with this level of realism ?

Hi all! Am really, really loving X-Plane. My question is regarding night lighting. I am up to date with 10.10 RC3, and I've noticed that the airport lighting is brighter and were made to be more realistic. In my opinion, it is far too bright. I flew around the Chicago area last night, and could easily spot every airport (every runway direction) within 20 miles...even small private strips. One feature of X-Plane I've loved is the night lighting, and the realism in trying to find the airport, especially when you are parallel to runways. I was looking at another forum and saw someone doing some ridiculously beautiful modeling of the interior of the XB-70.. This thing was detailed all the way to realistic animated ejection capsules.. All of the sudden work on the project stopped.. Does anyone know if there is a good XB-70 for X-plane?? It was truly an AMAZING aircraft.. I have one for FSX which is fair, but i really have yet to see a very high res rendering of the plane.. Just wondered if anyone knew where/if one existed..Happy Flying..

Can this be done in X-Plane10? I tried, but didn't have the time to continue flying and the aircraft was placed at an aerodrome that was still far from the North Pole, but, as I was approaching I believe I saw a rather unplausible piramid-like shape (?) Also, apparently there is no ice cover there. Comments / suggestions welcome :-) And no suggestion like: what the &u$k do you want to get your airplane there ?! please... If I had the 777 it would be great to try a polar route, but I'm affraid of what I may find there... :-/

I was missing a few things from FSX Gold, like those twilight / dawn flights where it is pitch dark in x-plane or we do not have a full moon, while it can appear coming from where no one really knows, etc.... The Sky (objects) in X-Plane are very poorly modeled, and if I can accept that regarding other stars (I couldn't care less if I can see this or that constellation...) I certainly can't accept that the Sun is not modeled in terms of it's apparent movement coorectly, with a huge difference between the reality and when it rises/sets in the simulator... (Long post - sorry...) Inspired by the flight I did this morning, from LPBJ (Beja Airbase, OSM-Enhanced) to LPPT (Lisbon Airport), using RWW, and ATC (full ATC, feeling better in RC3)... While I can understand some arguments regarding features that people would like to have in X-Plane, and I myself will always ask for something else to enhance even more the great experience this simulator is giving me, there are times I really get the idea that sometimes we (human beings) tend to block what is evident (well, maybe I myself am blocking the evidence that X-Plane is a piece of crap... but I really don't think so, simply because I am using my many years simming and RL…

Apart from the evident one - flying helicopters - I also got accustumed to fly the AS-K21 in X-Plane10, using the built in weather model of the sim that includes plausible thermal and ridge/mountain lift support. Even using a couple of sophisticated add-ons in the other sim can't bring the feel of flying a glider like in X-Plane10. The default AS-K21 is also a good default airplane in X-Plane10, down to the forward/side slip handling, and something I really can't duplicate in the other sim :-) So... Ver: 10:10rc3 Intel 3770K GTX 560 ti 1GB ram 8 GB Mem Asus Sabertooth Z77 MB Dell 24" Monitor X-Plane will not run full screen. (1920x1200). Any attempt to stretch the screen results in a crash to the desktop and the message "Program has stopped responding". All I can run at is a 4x3 window the same size as the opening screen. Any ideas?
