Anyone with this model, I need a visual check. None of the media reveals whether there are engine top cowl piano hinges allowing the side panels to swing up for engine access. In addition, are there any addon liveries for this?

I've been running into this issue lately... really wrecks my screen shot ability. Engines of all sorts start smoking after some time in flight. All gauges in the green, mixture set accordingly. Happened in the freeware Bell 429 turbine as well. Any ideas? EDIT: Fixed it - apparently keyboard key "X" is set to "smoke puffing" by default (whatever that is!!) smokingengines by ryan b, on Flickr

I believe this has been raised several times in the past but I hope everyone will indulge me. I really want to get an external moving map so I can follow my aircraft on my Windows 10 laptop. I have tried the External Moving Map 1.1 by petitetre I found YouTube but just cannot get this working. I have set the UPD data outputs in x-plane settings but when I try to run the .jar file it sometimes, but not always, brings up what is supposed to be the external map but it never connects to the host set in x-plane. Usually the host address on the utility is different to x-plane and if I try to amend manually I get an error it cannot connect. Fortunately I have found an …

I am surprised no one brought the subject up yet: I found that at least the default Cessna is behaving much better now on the ground, and also the skidding noises almost completely gone now. I can take off in a straight line now with light cross winds, what I was virtually unable to do before with my trusty Saitek x52. The ground physics were all right, as it seems, only the steering wheel was binary (full left or full right I mean).

My rudder pedals are the standard issue Saitek and no adjustment(s) in XP11 seem to help subdue their sensitivity. Two glaring problems in Xplane certainly don't help - the entire longitudinal fuselage moves with the slightest rudder input and there's no way to create a null zone. A real rudder gives some inflight roll along with yaw and you can get that using XP trim but, on the ground with my pedals, it's instant zig zag (squeal) and pray for liftoff . Anyone discovered a fix for this?

After several hours of head scratching I have now discovered that x-plane 11 uses a different format (.fml) for flight plans which explains why whenever I tried to load a plan into the fms I got the error ROUTE NOT FOUND. I have a number of plans in the .fms format which were mainly copied over from x-plane to the the x-plane 11 output/fms plans folder although some were included in a package I downloaded from somewhere. Is there an online flight planner that saves in the .fml format or does it mean having to manually enter a plan into the fms and then save it to get the right format for future use? Thanks

Hey guys, I would like to build myself a simple instrument panel for xplane (just some knobs and switches - nothing fancy) . I think the easiest way would be to use an usb keyboard controller and connect the switches to the device. But I must admit, I´ve never done any soldering before and would like go the easy way and simply connect wires :-) . Is there any kind of "plug & play" controller device I could buy with switches and wire connectors? Thanks for helping out, Michael

I just saw this amazing looking add-on is now available and the screenshots look fantastic. I must say though I am surprised at the price. It looks like a heck of a lot of work has gone into this project and I am aware of the niche side of our hobby and the limited customer base but I believe it to be a bit overpriced at 68 yo-yo's for a relatively small region. I am sure some will be happy to pay for it especially those who fly regularly in that region so it really is in the eye (or wallet) of the beholder as to what you think is 'too much'. Great work though and really shows the power of the X-Plane platform and the type of immersive scenery that can be produced. …

Hi, in a week or so I'm gonna buy a new pc. It's going to be a ryzen 5 1600 and the gpu will be a rx 580 8gb or a gtx 1060 6gb. How are these 2 cards performing in x-plane 11? I saw that amd cards aren't the best for x-plane...

Hi This is admittedly a long shot.... Occasionally I may pause my sim, put the computer to sleep and continue a flight where I left off - works fine. If I pause, switch user when I come back to X-Plane the sound does not work anymore - of course the answer is don't do it! But anyone know how to get X-Plane playing sound again ? Of course if I exit X-Plane and start the sim again, all is well. And yes all other sounds/music plays fine. This is in the FF 757/767 Just wondering :) Thanks

After some searching, it appears that no one has asked why ALL waterways, farm ponds --- anywhere there is water --- is surrounded by sandy beaches. Does anyone know if there is a way to lessen this or do away with it entirely except on coastal areas? Maybe I am asking too much, but it appears that with the great scenery otherwise, this could be accomplished as well. Overall, I am very happy with the X-Plane scenery, but this has been a question I have asked myself many times, but never lasted long enough to get to the forum. Getting too old to remember that long! John

Hi There, I have been thinking about adding one of the Aerobask planes to my hanger. I have narrowed it down to the following: Panthera V3 Eclipse 550 NG Velocity V-Twin Epic E1000 I want something I can fly whenever I do not have 3 - 4 hours for a 767/A330/737 flight. The problem is the aircraft I listed above all look fantastic lol and I cannot make up my mind so I would love to hear what anyone out there thinks who owns any of the Aerobask products I am considering Happy Friday

Hi Everyone, After about a decade of being away from Flight Simming, here I am again. This time though, I decided to make the big shift to X-Plane, after being a hard-core FSX (MS Flight Sim) fan since it's very first version in the 1980's. !!! So I'm playing around with Ortho4XP, I strictly followed the instructions from various sources, they all worked EXCEPT that my final texture is showing the Roadmaps (with labels) instead of the real Photorealistic textures! I have tried both BI and OSM sources but I prefer OSM because it has better, crisper, higher res details in my area at 10, 123 Mactan International airport in Cebu City Ph…

There are new clouds available on the .org. They look incredible: It includes a lua script, but I advice changing the dataref "last_cloud_res=4" to "last_cloud_res=5" to improve cloud drawing distance.

I use SPAD.neXt (http://www.spadnext.com/home.html) for controlling all my Saitek gear (Cessna yoke, pedals,..Radio etc panel, ... 9 FIPs) in a networked configuration (which is based on a plugin installed into XP). This works great - and I can use even sophisticated gauges - however, there are two side effects which are IMO more XP than SPAD.neXt issues, thus I am asking here. 1. I have that annoying crosshairs continually on display. I understand that given all controls are connected to the networked computer, XP seemingly thinks I don't have any joystick and activates mouse control. Is there any way to remove that crosshairs without plugging in a joystick (and yes…

To me, FSX/P3D vs XPlane debates have always seemed a bit silly, because they often depart from sensible discussion (which is valid and useful) and turn into mud-slinging. But in this case comparisons between two A320 addons both claiming to be the best you can get are inevitable. Also, I think this is a helpful thing to look at for XPlane skeptics who stay away from the sim because of a lack of good airliners. It seems like every major airliner release recently has been hyped as the true "study level" addon that XPlane needs, but everything so far has fallen a bit short. But, even though it's still in beta, the Flight Factor A320 seems to be living up to the hype! The pr…
