Hi simmers! I am trying to tweak X-Plane 11 in order to get the best out of it. Premise: I have tried photoreal textures generated with Ortho4XP and I don't like them, I prefer to have seasonal textures and no seam lines between photos and default scenery, or between photos taken at a different time of the day/year. I don't like seeing abrupt viability or cloud changes in XP 11. I'd like to see good cloud depiction and smooth visibility transition. I'm currently using the default weather generator. What are you using (payware or freeware) and what are the results? Thanks.

Curious if anyone has broken up their huge Ortho tilie collections into states or countries or regions and utilize the "custom build_dir" option to point at that area for a one click turn on/off solution? Basically you merge all files from a region into one custom folder, then point the custom build_dir at that region, one click turns the whole area on/off.. rather than having to unclick 100 tiles to turn off an area. Its a little hard to define states this way, since there is overlap, but still gives some flexibility. I keep debating the worth of doing individual usa states or just do whole countries, like United States, then Canada, then maybe south america …

Does anybody have this? How is it, I’m looking at it mainly as I’ll be training on one and I’d love to get something somewhat accurate. I know the Carenado/Alabeo devs don’t have the greatest rep for flight dynamics in P3D, is it better in XP11? Thanks!

Recently, the Zibo became too much of a burden on my system. In the VC, FPS almost gets cut in half compared to the default Cessna - purely on CPU time, my GPU (1080ti) has no issues with the Zibo. I wonder if anybody owns both the Zibo and the 757 V2: how do these planes compare performance wise? I'd be buying the 757 if the FPS performance is better compared to the Zibo, but I don't want to do a blind date...

Is there a way to move / enlarge the map view in X-Plane 11.1 more than the current default setting? (to see farther away from the aircraft current position) Right now it only gives you aprox 100NM from the aircraft which is not a lot if you are looking down the road for approach info. Also can the aircraft be slewed to a given place on the map? Thanks, Terry

Hi all, Happy Holidays. It's been a while since I've posted... real life prevents my normal participation in the sim community lately. I have recently seen out of memory warnings using X-plane 11. I had this maybe once before. Now i get it almost everytime shortly after starting a flight. the last instance, X-plane froze completely.. I then did the ctrl alt delete to the task manger to force quit, only to find my desktop at 400X600 like no video drivers were loaded any longer, indicating the entire system was being stressed. I've never had issues before with version 10 or 11 to date. I'm running RC2 or 3. My settings are not maxed either. Lowering them did not…

Wondering if anyone has this issue, In full screen at 3840x2160 resolution I cannot pan my view with the mouse. Sometimes it will work and I can pan a few degrees but it will stop on its own regardless if I am still moving the mouse. If I switch to windowed mode mouse panning works just fine. If I switch to 1080p full screen mouse panning works fine.

Anybody know how to change the interior from commuter to the standard club seating? Alabeo says that it comes with both on their website, but for the life of me I can not figure out how to change it. Thanks, John

In X plane 11 after properly setting up my joystick and configuring it accurately, I seem to be skewing across the runway, unable to effectively travel in a straight line. Is this a bug with XP11 or something else? I'm quite baffled! Any advice would be appreciated Regards Alan

However I'm still quite a bit of a noob in XP ;-) Since Carenado has a 10 day sale that started today, I was wondering if anyone knows if their Navajo (not the Chieftain) works well in X-Plane 11? I have the latest x-life version (paid deluxe version) and latest XP (beta 9). Do these two work properly? I see ground traffic but I don't see any air traffic when I start XP. (At least nothing in the map flying in the area). This is with all the sliders in x-life maxed.

When I first started flightsimming, the current (and only) available flightsim was MS Flightsim 98. From then, I've been flying 2000, 2002 and 2004. All of them had the same ongoing issues and forum discussions. FPS, tweak, stutter, "best PC to run...". Sometime in 2007 I gave up flying (mostly because it took too much time). Fast forward 10 years. Computer power is beefier than ever with GPUs larger than my vacuum cleaner and RAM memory almost the size of the harddrive I was running. Hey guys! It’s been a while since I’ve been on avsim! I recently purchased the Oculus Rift while it was on sale for Black Friday. One of the first things I did was run X-plane 11 with the flyinside demo. I was very impressed with how it all felt/looked. Except everything was noticeably more blurry than other native VR programs. I was a bit disappointed with the FPS I was getting too, however I am running a MSI Gtx 970sc so I can’t complain too much. I had the chance this week to meet up with Austin at our local airport KCUB. As an air traffic controller at Columbia Approach, Austin and I have developed a unique relationship. Brand new computer, downloaded the Windows demo. Crash varies between BSOD & virtual memory areas. Log file 8700k / 16GB RAM / GTX 1080 Removed NVIDIA drivers that came from Dell/Alienware and installed the 1080 drivers from NVIDIA after remove the GeForce experience panel. Went in and manually adjusted the virtual memory page file to allow 16384 on the max, same issue. No add-ons, just the demo (can't even get to settings to adjust them). Is it flat by tille ( 1º Lat x 1º Lon ) like in older ( up to xp9 at least ) versions or at a higher granularity level ? How bout Mag Decl ? I wonder if the calculations also tille-based, meaning that like in previous versions we have "jumps" in declination as we transit from one tille to the adjacent one, or is the algorithm different ?
