Hi. Just some thoughts. A lot of people usually watch other simmers fly these days via twitch or youtube. Would'nt it be even better if some of those people watching become a part of the simmers world, for example, someone could handle the pushback truck and get the airplane where the captain wants it. Someone could handle the fuel truck, and others the cargo and baggages. I know how it might sound. Why make addons for controlling such things when the simulator is for "flying"? But I feel that if this would be implemented it would help the "simulation" part become more immersive and real. The communication between the captain and ground crew would make it just l…

Good morning. Hello, Since I installed x-ivap and teamspeak 2 on my plane 11, I don't have the atis!!!! every time I change my frequency, teamspeak starts whether I'm connected to IVAO or not. When I'm logged in on IVAO and switch from unicom to ATIS frequency of the field I'm going to (uncontrolled terrain), teamspeak disconnects and doesn't reconnect. Any idea? XP11 up to date Windows 10 64 X-ivap 0.4

Am I the only one who thinks that aircraft nose up reaction to lowering flaps is excessive? I know that one can change the numbers with plane maker, but, as someone who just getting the feel for xplane, I'd like to know if anyone has already made the changes so that I can simply edit the aircraft file. The md80 is the one that interests me. Thanks tony

Been impressed with the latest beta - so far. Anyone know if, when or even possible for XP to "know which plane is loaded and select the corresponding joystick configuration? I noticed that when I forget to select the right config, XP has a lot of stutters and such? Just a thought, so I thought I would ask!

Just starting with light jets and having some questions. I am using mostly the eclipse 550 which comes with a performance printout for climbing, I usually have enginees on takeoff at 100 and when I take off I lift wheels and then flaps at around 400-500 ft. I put the ias at the ideal speed using outside temp and weight. when I CLIMB using chart from o-5000 ft my climb fpm is way above the the chart and the same with 5000-10000 etc. Is it up to me to use the speed on the IAS but use the throttle to lower the nose so my climb fps is in line with the chart

Downloaded XP yesterday to my primary SSD which now has ~110 GB available after download. Haven't installed yet. Thinking of add on scenery and such, contemplating adding another SSD. I'm not they type to download every piece of photo scenery to cover the world. My FSX install was less than 250 gig with a decent amount of photoscenery, FTX, traffic, etc. Thinking 250-500gig should be fine, but just saw a few guys on Steam with 4TB and 8TB drives. What do you think? Can get Samsung 850 for $95/140 (250/500GB)

I know XP creates a log when starting, but if it crashes (using the latest Beta btw) the log doesn't show a possible reason? Am I missing something or does XP not have an actual error log? Thanks in advance for all suggestions.

Tempted to upgrade from 10 by the current discounts, though more of an XP dabbler and mainly fly P3D...so I'm not sure of the add-on compatibility between the two. I've seen there are updates for a number of the payware add-ons I have, but notably the Caranedo 1900 is a 'buy-it-again' job, which I just wouldn't do. Does the XP10 1900D not work at all in XP11? Any other significant drop-offs moving to 11? Do all of the freeware scenery upgrades work (the photo sceneries, the 'Pro' sceneries etc) Thanks Keith

Well, supposedly VRS had been "re-enabled" for XP11.10 b5, so I picked my two Dreamfoil models, opened and saved both in Plane Maker to make sure they would be written with the "new tags", and went flying for 45 min, trying to enter VRS in all sorts of ways, at least in those ways it used to work in the past, or works right away in DCS as a comparison, or in youtubes we can find easily where pilots are training it IRL... Nada ! Not even hints of VRS... Confess I didn't try the S-76, because it "flies" so awkwardly, but I'll give it a fair try latter today...

Hi all, After building a new system, I've decided to dip my toe back into simming after a long break. One of the things I set about doing immediately is getting some ortho scenery created with Ortho4XP. I've run into a situation and was wondering if there was a solution. By default, X-Plane renders the marshy areas around Charleston South Carolina, (seen below as the blue hatched area) as water with the land areas outlined in red being actual terra firma. I was wondering if there was a way, using Ortho4XP, to get those marshy areas to show up properly. I recently bought a Dell Inspirion desktop for under $300. To my surprise the X plane 11 demo works better than i expected. It seems to have more fps than FSW with decent settings. The demo is playable and is good for me given how great it looks. I am planing on upgrading my graphics card and now i don't feel the need to go all out on a expensive one. My question is will the full version still perform as good as the demo? My settings are: Sim objects-high, Reflection detail- min Aliasing- up 2 notches,i think the texture setting is half way System Specs: i3 6100 HD 530 graphics 6gb ram Thanks

I love Xplane11, especially now that I have dug into it a bit and found that you can tweak some of the flight dynamics on the fly, amazing! Had a problem though with XPlane, it seems it opens scenery files in write mode rather than read mode. I had a rare Xplane crash flying over the Sierras and my photoreal scenery has been trashed since. The Xplane default scenery insists on showing thru tons of files have come up missing. I have my Xplane Ortho4XP scenery installed on the same drive as my P3D MSE scenery, and P3D had read that scenery flawlessly. I ran a CHKDSK and no errors were found. I reinstalled Xplane and all sorts of weird things started to happen afte…

Presently I have about 12TB of Ortho Tiles plus their corresponding Orthophotos which probably amount to an additional 4TB. I was wondering how others plan a backup of this data and their rationale for what they backup. Do you backup just the Tiles, just the Orthophotos, or both? Thanks, Robert

We're starting to see streamers getting permission to release videos of the A320. It must be getting close! My guess is it will be released as soon as 11.10 is finalized.

I'm interested in getting an "electronic flight bag" program for XP11. I primarily use the IXEG 737 or modded 737-800. Paid software is fine, and decent freeware would be nice to test first. My main computer is fairly old at this point so I try to off-load as much as possible. I'd like to be able to run the EFB on my laptop via a network connection with XP. Any suggestions? Thanks-

Hi All, I wondered if I could pick your brains..... I have been thinking about some hardware upgrades for my X-Plane 11 machine. You will see from my signature I have a water cooled i3570K running @ 4.6ghz, an Asus GTX 980 TI Strix & 16GB DDR 3 Although I can achieve a steady locked 30 FPS in most situations running X-Plane 11 with Ortho4XP scenery and settings cranked pretty high I do seem to be sitting on somewhat of a knife edge. I keep a careful eye on the CPU & GPU loads and tend to find that my CPU is always higher (around the 0.3 mark) which leads me to believe that although I do have a pretty decent system I am CPU bound. This will probably be a newbie question to most in this forum but gonna ask. I've posted in another forum and either due to inactivity or what not it hasn't been answered. I am currently starting with X-Plane 11, and I'm running on Windows 10. I have the X-52 Pro stick and throttle no peddles. I have two major issues going on. I've semi corrected one. The first is the sever pulling to the left or right when attempting to take off with the single prop planes. (I recalibrated the controller in game. IE I paused and did it that way.)
