I'm in process of designing a rudder system for the Cessna U206G. I've looked at commercial 'Simkits' version as well as looking at pics of the rudder pedals on other photo sitesCessna rudder pedal extensionshttp://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/graphics/S-RPE-CN1.jpgAs well as a build project on Flightsim.com. Quite a good article. My question. From the looks of the pedal for toe brakes you would/could put your foot up on the 'Ledge' of the pedal and rock forward. This would show the angle of the pedal to a degree as your foot would slide off if it was to shallow. During non braking operation you could put your feet on the floor and move the rudder that way. That is how it…

HI, I am having trouble calibrating an "old" MS Sidewinder basic joystick. It is a USB Joystick, so it is not that ancient a technology. Anyway, found out MS stopped making them and there appears to be no support fo them anymore, so was wondering if anybody knew how I could update it for VISTA and be able to make it work right? Any help would be appreciated.Regards,Macs :)

I have in mind to buy a steering wheel and pedals to run formula 1 2008 for the PC, but wondered if there was one on the market that could somehow suitably double up as a yolk and pedals for Flight Simulator X/2004?Ideally I would want something that is hybrid, thus being a cross between a full steering wheel and the shape of a yolk, and with as many functions (buttons) as possible. As a bare minimum i'd want an array of buttons for gear changing (F1) and for other aircraft controls (FS9/X).Is there anything that springs to mind without breaking the bank, ideally around

Hey everyone,Recently when I have been flying fs2004 my X52 just stops responding after a few seconds to minutes of loading up the sim. The LED's all stay on and the LCD screen freezes with an indication of the last button I pressed. Does anybody know any possible way of fixing this or is my joystick just on its last legs?Cheers,Michael Podgornik

Hi All, I am planning to get a Logitech G940 Flight System. I usually fly commercial airliners; Project Airbus A32X, Project Opensky 737NG, Level-D 767-300ER, and occasionally Project Opensky Boeing 747-400F or BCF. How is it if any one had tried it? Also is it worth its $300 price tag? Thanks, GE90110B

Hello all,Got a fresh install of FSX sp2 running, vista 64. Connected up my saitek yoke (w/ single quadrant), rudder, switch panel, radio panel to the FSX PC.The FSX PC is also acting as server to two saitek Flight Instrument Panels that are physically connected to a seperate laptop.I fire up TrackIR5, then the "Saitek Panels plugin for FSX", then FSX on the main PC.Once in FSX, i go to laptop to start the SaiFlightSimX client process to drive the flight instrument panels.EVerything seems to work fine for an indeterminate amount of time, before i get a BSOD which mentions USB BUS in it.One time it happened literally as i tried to increase the throttle (on the saitek quadr…

Is there any place to get a wiring schematic for it? I did a Google search and did not find any schematics or wiring diagrams. Any help sure would be appreciated. Thanks, best regards, Bob.

Hi Gang:GAH! I posted this here inadvertently.... sorry... reposted in the hardware section: I have the Natural Point TrackIR 5 w/Trackpro and can not seem to get it to work in FS9.- Windows XP SP3- TrackIR functions normally within Natural Points GUI. - All the lights are on when FS9 loads.- I've enabled the VC via Views>Virtual Cockpit and tried via cycling the "S" key>Spot,VC etc views.- I've disabled the head latency within Active camera.TrackIR works fine with FreeFalcon 5.0, but nodda in FS9. Am I missing something, anything in fs9.cfgI need to change etc? :( ThanksChops

Having read about Matrox TripleHead2Go digital version I have the following questions.- Can I test this unit with my existing two monitors?- With a 3-monitor setup will the horizon line up properly (a straight line) when you bank the aircraft? - I understand you need to be in VC panel mode when using TripleHead2Go. All 2D panels will stretch horizontally and therefore cannot be used. Is there a fix for that? Perhaps someone familiar with this unit can give me an answer.Cheers,Bert

Just bought it yesterday afternoon and tried it out in FSX last night, mostly flying VFR in both fixed wings and copters around CYNJ, CZBB, and KFHR--all close by to where I live.Set-up was quick: open the package; take out the clip, clamp, and IR thingy; attach the thingy to the clamp; attach the clamp to the monitor; attach the clip to a baseball cap; download the software, and plug the USB cable into the computer--and that's it. It probably took me longer to type out these three sentences than it did to set up the TrackIR.So ... once I got everything running, I put on the ball cap, fired up the software, and played around a bit with the configuration program. Pretty…

Hi,I've got 2 x Saitek Throttle Quadrants. Both are about 2 months old, both were working fine until a couple of days ago whereupon they suddenly initiate full power on the throttles within the game without moving the levers. This can be from any position. I have had a search and cant find anything else about this issue.System specs is Vista 64, all up to date. 8GB of Ram and a Pentium Q9650 running at 3GHz. All controllers have been re-calibrated, in FSUIPC and the windows calibration tools, there is no movement in values on the axis, it seems to be something else. Has anyone got any ideas or experience of this before? I've also tried reloading FSX with Ctrl and S…

I found nothing by searching so maybe someone knows. I've installed the software and drivers for the X52 on my system running Vista Home Premium 32 bit. When I try to run the program editor, the program closes with a message about SAI3DVIEWER.DLL. I see that dll in the Saitek\software folder. I've tried copying it to the system32 folder and registering it, all with no luck. Is there a way to run the program editor in Vista and get around this .dll error? Thanks

Hello,I am contemplating if to order a PFC Yoke. I right now cannot decide between a Saab Style or a Boeing 737 Style yoke.Saab provides more programmable buttons, while 737 provides less. 737 on the other hand is a "true style" 737 yoke. Also noticed that the Saab yoke is kind of higher, while the 737 one is lower. I don't know how that impacts flying, if at all.I am generally flying in FS9 a Boeing 737/747/757/767/777, Airbus 319/320/330/340, Fokker 70/100, Concorde and bunch of other GA aircraft from different vendors. Pretty much everything usual.Right now I am using a MS FF2 joystick, and I know, Boeing is a yoke aircraft and an Airbus is a stick aircraft, for which …

As the thread title says really... I'm in need of a new joystick after having broken my Saitek Cyborg evo Force Feedback. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a vendor in the UK that actually has these anymore, so it looks like a direct replacement is out of the window.Ideally I'd like something similar and do quite like having FF, I don't want to pay the earth really either so something like the X52 (I know it does not have FF) might be a bit OTT. I have looked at the Logitech equivalent to the Cyborg, but to be honest I'm not that impressed by it and any customer reviews I have read have not been that favourable. On a similar note, any suggestions for good/reputable resel…
