Hi, I am experiencing the following problem (a little hard to explain): when I jump into a FS2002 cockpit with side window bmp's (airplane without virtuell cockpit) and I look outside the windows, everything is fine. But when I enter the menue and then leave it again, I am experiencing a picture overlay. The menue is disappiering from the top to the bottom and the main panel is showing up, this takes about 2-3 sec's. The same then happens when I look outside the window or when I call up a subpanel. Both bmp's overlay and need 2-3 sec for loading. That's pretty unflyable. The problem is not 100% reproducable, means I do not know what to do to actually reproduce this proble…

The only upgrade I see possible for COF is my video card.I have a AMD Anthon 2000XP ( 1.667 Gz ), 512MB PC2100 RAM,GF-ti4600 128 MB, running under W98se.Right now I can only run 2xAA with 4tapAF with good frame rate.I have most FS2002 sliders full right and I lock at around 20FPS - usually achieving that. ( at least during day flights ).Would a ATI9700 be a good choice? If you have a similar set up and upgraded, what did you get.- Thanks, Myles

I am thinking of upgrading WIndows ME with Windows XP as i`m fed up with all the issues and lockups which i seem to get with Windows ME. I heard with XP you can only have it on one computer. If i install it on my hardrive and decide one day to buy a new motherboard and move everything across (hard drives, cards, memory etc) to the new motherboard would this cause any issues? Its just a lot of money to splash out on an operating system which you can only use on the one computer.

Hello all. This has happend twice now. I run xp pro with one user account. Used to get the "your password will change in 14 days" message. I would just cancel. I never set one. Have not seen it come up lately. Now the problem. Extreamly long boot up time after blue welcome screen comes up .....I mean minutes, like hard drive went to sleep. I also get one beep from mobo, and never loose mouse. After msconfig change to nothing on start up, uninstalling some new stuff, and restore....no good. I run scan disk, no errors, but on completion and on boot up(had to run it from restart}the password dialog comes up. I choose ok and just set no password again, ....and wala. Ater welc…

HiI feel its time to upgrade my PC. A few questions,I have a GF4 Ti4600 and a seperate Ti4800SE card - which is better? With regard to a CPU, money is no object really for this so I'm looking to buy a good one, prob either an XP3200 or P4 of some sort -any recommendations greatfully received.Basically what I'm looking to do is to keep a few parts of my existing PC - hard disk & RAM (512mb DDR) and build a new PC.Well actually buy all the parts and take them all to a PC shop for someone to fit em all, I'm wary of all this hardware stuff . Is this a good plan? Also, finally, if I choose my CPU first then a mobo to accomodate my CPU, do I need to be careful which case to …

Today, NVIDIA is once again proving that it is a company that can learn from its mistakes. A mere three months after the troubled launch of the FX 5800 Ultra, we are seeing the introduction of a successor that addresses and fixes all of the weaknesses of the original part. The memory bus has been widened to 256 bits and the GPU has been treated to a number of refinements. Although NV35 runs 50 MHz slower than its older sibling, this is virtually unnoticeable. The fact is that the enormous bandwidth of the improved 256-bit memory interface can easily pick up the slack and then some. Now, the FX 5900 is able to outpace the Radeon 9800 PRO in all relevant benchmarks and can …

I'm on the market for a card. I was headed to purchase a 9700 or a 9800 but looking here and there I've just discovered on a forum that ATI cards apparently do not process "fog/particle tables" (one of the way to create smoke and fog). That is only a problem for a handful of games (not for FS2K2) but unfortunately it is for one of my favorites (i.e. Combat Mission). Nvidia's are okSo if you're on the market as well, watch out.Hope that helps.Dominique

I had been having some problems with GTA Vice City, so I sent Rockstar games an email, they requested my DxDiag info, So I saved it and I was looking through it, and I noticed this, that I thought was strange under DxDiag Notes:------------DxDiag Notes------------ DirectX Files Tab: The file directx.cpl is a debug version, which will run slower than the retail version. The DirectX Files tab ,does that mean, I am getting slower performance and that it could be faster? I currently am running DirectX 9.0a, some help would be greatly appreciated.

Fry's Electronics keeps offering the 128mb gforce mx440se for about $60 after rebate. Is this card recommended for Flight Simulators. I've heard that the MX models have a bandwidth/throughput problems. The Hardware review sites don't have a lot of information on this card and they always do benchmarks with "Doom" and "Quake" and never flight simulators. Thanks in advance,Sskoup
