Hey all, I loaded the new 4-in-1 447 service pack Monday night and when I was checking out my video settings today after FS was running like crap, and I discovered that my AGP rate is down to 2x max. I tried to force 4x using RivaTuner but no luck so far. I'm running the a Visiontek GF3 ti200 w/ 43.45 drivers on an AMD 1.3 cpu, Asus A7V333 mobo and WinXP Pro. If anyone has any advice for how I can get my 4x back, please let me know. Also, I have already checked in the BIOS and it's still showing 4x there. I'm really puzzled by this. Thanks in advance for any help or advice. One last thing, I've already tried going back to some earlier 4-in-1 drivers and that didn't help …

I have a Dell 8250 with 512 mb of Rambus PC1066 installed. If I upgrade to 1.0 g of ram will it make a difference on the frame rates that I'm currently seeing..I have a 2.4 gig, Radeon 9700 TX video card running at 128 meg.The reason I'm asking is that the Rambus PC1066 costs $ 129.00 for a 256meg addition and I need 2 of them so it's going to be quite expensive to upgrade. Just wandering if anybody knows if it will make a difference in performance when running FS2002 etc. or will it be a waste of $$..Regards,Jack Noullet

Hi folk:I have an old Gateway P1000 computer dying a slow death and have decided to replace it. Just in time for 2004, he-he-he-he!!!!!! So, I had just about decided to spend the cash and get one of the highly touted Dell XPS. The system is advertised as a 3.06G, 2GB RAM, and a lot of bells and whistles. Well, I mentioned it to this guy at work who is pretty smart with hardware but doesn't know beans about flight simming (his words, not mine). In our discussion he said something like......you know, it just stands to reason that with the models, textures, windows, sounds, and everything else needed to simulate flight that it's probably processor intensive. For someone…

Hi, I need a computer for professional use that could run some programs in parallel, based on a Windows 2000 professional. Is a dual processor better for my applications? Which kind of processor do you advise me? Does Microsoft Flight Simulator support a dual processor? Can I run two programs in parallel one for each processor? Thanks

Hi all, Anyone have any comments before I splash out over 400 of the Queens English for this lot:Gigabyte GA-7NNXP with RAID Athlon 2.8GHz with Barton CoreCrucial 1GB PC3200 184DIMM (2 x 512)I'll be using my current GF4-4200 and Audigy (1st generation) cards supported by Enermax 450W PSU. I'm an avid reader of the Anandtech forums, but very few reviews of this MB are currently available - though initial impressions seem good!I'm pretty much limited when it comes to MB choice, although I don't run my HDD's in a RAID array the extra IDE connections are paramount since I have 3 HDDs plus 2 CD/DVD/writers. My current setup is Athlon 1.2, 768MB PC-133 SDRAM on Abit KT7a-RAID…

Hello there.I am interested in your opinions for the best operate system for the new and older flightsims.I just bought a new mashine IBM netvista 2.5ghz 256mb ram,Win.XPprofessional.I am not that impressed about the new upgrade when it comes to flight-sims.My old mashine,IBM-P3-600,win.98SE. is(belive it or not) faster to load web.sites and is not far behind this new computer when it comes to preferences with flight.sims.Both graphics and framerates. My home-computer is mainly used for simulators.Has this to do with the operate system??Would it be an idea to install win.98SE on the new mashine??Best regards.Lars Peter.

Hi guys,I finally bought a new PC and it's not letting me enjoy FS for more than 5min at a time. Basically the PC will reboot itself after running flight sim for 5-10min, as if someone hit the reset button.Configuration as follows:Windows XPAMD Athlon XP3000+MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR MB1024MB DDR PC3200 400Mhz Generic RAMMaxtor 80G with 8Mb Cache ATA-133MSI 128Mb FX5800-TD8X video cardCDROMIt seems to run longer before resetting if I dissable hardware accelleration in the FS Display menu, but eventually it still reboots itself.I've checked to see that everything is snugly fitted on the MB, but no more ideas here.PLEASE HELP!! Cheers,Nick

My current system specs are:HP Pavilion 8700 PIII 733384 MB SDRAM16 MB TNT2The TNT2 card is not going to cut it in FS2k4. I want to upgrade to either a 32/64 MB GF2 GTS or GF3 Ti 500 until I can afford a new system. My first choice would be the Ti 500, but I'm worried about my power supply being insufficient. The GTS card is not quite as good, but I would expect it to be a better fit as these were available when I bought the machine.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,Joe

I cannot get a hyperlink to download any drivers from nvidia.comtake a look at the enclosed screen shot. It shows the box labeled "go", which should hyperlink, but text is scrolled across it. I have moved my mouse cursor all over the page, but cannot find a link. Has anyone else had this problem? And, if so, what have you done to solve it. I'm building some home made rudder pedals and mixture/pitch/throttle controls. Since I have no idea how to make usb peripherals, I'm wiring these for gameport use. Will I be able to use these alongside a USB stick (MS Precision Pro II)? Are there any issues I should be aware of?Thanks!sg

I've noticed that the new GF-FX 5900 256 MB cards are beginning to make it to consumers (mostly mail order). Initial reviews are pretty decent. Has anyone tried this card with FS2K yet?

This is an embarassing moment, when I've misplaced my manual and accessory cables for my Sony SDM-M81 LCD monitor. Maybe someone who owns one can help, the Sony site only addresses current models (this one is about 18 months old).I'm currently connected to the analogue video out of a Ge3 video card, through a cable that has the standard blue connector at the card end, and a similarly sized connector at the LCD end. The socket to the LCD is labelled "DVI-I", with a switch between digital and analogue. A second HD-15 input is analogue only (not connected).I'd like to use the digital video out of the video card, there's a small round connector on the card that is the digi…

I'm thinking about getting a force feedback joystick. Was wondering if anyone could give me some tips. To be honest, I will only use it for a few different sims. FS2k2, Xtreme Air Racing, X-Plane and Fly!II. And then, only when I'm in stick and rudder planes or helicopters. (I already have a yoke/pedals/throttle set up, albeit gameport) I'm interested in USB connection. I Ebayed for some options and see that Logitech, MS and something called a Cyborg all make forcefeedback sticks. The Logitech is only $20 which, if it would work with WinXP, seems like a pretty good deal. Of course, the MS models look pretty good too.Any advice or tips? Thanks
