I just bought an ATI Radeon 9500 Pro, an awesome card, but the problem is: I have a PCI slot and no AGP slot which the 9500 requires. There is an empty space with studs to install an AGP slot. Is there an easy way that I can install a slot? Thanks!:-jumpyhttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg-------------------Kenneth W. HiHope someone can spread some light on this...Suddenly my computer has stated saying, when I start FS, that 'Safe mode has beed enabled because your system is unable to use hardware acceleration'.I dont understand why - there has never been a problem. I run P4 2.4ghz, 1012mb Ram, and use a ATi Radeon 9700Pro with 128mb ram. My motherboard is a Asus P4S8X with the option of 8xAGP....I cant find out how to get the system to enable Hardware Acceleration again in FS - and without it is impossible to fly smooth....What should I do - what can I do?Any help is welcome. And appreciated!! Thanks, Walle.

I have heard/seen here/read ATI cards decribed as performingAA 2x ( or maybe even 4x ) with same performance as GF4-ti4600 running w/o AA. So does that mean if I use GF4-ti4600 w/ AA 2x then I wouldsee and increase in FPS useing an ATI-9700 w/ AA 2x ? It stands to reason doesn't it?Anyone want to commment.Thanks,- MylesAMD 2000XP (1.66ghz ),512MB-PC2100,GF4-ti4600Running FS2002 with virtually all sliders full right 100 %and happy with it except maybe at night at simflyer airports.Using AA 2x and AF 4 tap.Gearing up for FS2004 and contemplating going to an ATI video card as my only $ allowable upgrade.

All,For some reason when I don't have my mic muted and if my headset speakers aren't plugged in, I receive this raspy sound. (Same if I plugged in my headset speakers as well as my headset mic plugged in, I receive the same raspy sound). When I unplug the mic from the jack and just have the Desktop Speakers on, I receive this light buzzing sound. Also, when I'm using Roger Wilco and I test my mic and others do hear this as well, I hear a light buzzing sound when Im not talking with click sounds too.Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Chanse Watson

Hey all, I just got my new Mobo and cpu up and running. It's an Athlon XP2000+ chip on a Biostar M7NCD pro Mobo. On any of the bench tests I've run I'm showing 1244 mhz on the clock speed. I've got the frontside bus set at 100 mhz (lowest setting) because if I set it higher the system won't boot at 133 or higher. it may be the heat transfer from the cpu to the heatsink but I'm not sure.Anyone have any ideas??Brian

Hi all,You guys are supposed to understand something in pneumatics and aerodynamics, so maybe you can assist me in some advise.I live in a relatively warm area and I want to cool my PC a bit with an additional 80 mm fan. I intend to attach it to the left side panel (oposite to the motherboard) after cutting out a suitable hole. The fan will be powered by an external source.Question is; should the fan blow air into the PC, or suck air out? and where should the fan be positioned - oposite the video card or in the middle of the panel?Have funSeev

Just curious if anyone here has ever tried modding their yoke. I want to replace the springs with some stiffer ones to try and emulate the actual yokes a little more closely. Is there a way to get rid of the return to center force? Anything I should be cautious of?Thanks!

And somehow, I found the Ti4400 to have more solid textures, faster frame rates, and crisper text than the 9800 Pro - while costing only 1/2 as much.Especially, with the 9800 Pro, I noticed that the onscreen text (the ATC popup window) and SHIFT-Z red letter info at the top left corner were faint and there were many jagged edges around letters. The same display Ti4400 was extremely sharp and solid. Moreover, the 9800 Pro seemed to make my screen jump on all applications the whole imagine would "shiver."Any thoughts?

A few weeks ago I bought a new PC running an MSI FX5800 which gave me nothing but trouble despite latest drivers and even pointing a couple 12V fans onto into (they helped reduce lockups somewhat though). XP would perform reboots at random, then I experienced lockups.Anyhow, I took the PC back and got them to swap it over for a Saphire ATI Radeon Pro 9700 and I'm pleased to report it has my simulator humming along !! :) :) I flew my first Captain Speaking Adventure in a B747 from London to Berlin the other day, all sliders maxed-out, and saw average 30fps no worries and without a hitch. I have to say that I didn't notice any real difference in image quality between the tw…

I have purchased a JETWAY v266B motherboard and an AMD XP2400 CPU to upgrade my system. This mobo supports the FSB266 type Athlons up to 2400 and also supports 133 SDRAM (which I intend to use) .The Jetway website specifically says that the mobo supports the XP2400 with a clock ratio setting of 15. My trouble is that the manual that came with the board and also the manual for download at the Jetway website only shows the settings for ratios up to 12.5. Now, the tech info on this board says that it is "jumperless" (which I find strange if it has a set of cpu ratio jumpers") - but I have noticed that the jumpers for the 5 switches are all set to "OFF" by default and I have…

I have a 9700 TX Radeon Graphics card which is a 128 meg card and it does not say it is a 'PRO'....I discovered in Control Panel Advanced settings that mine are set at the half-way mark. When I move the slider to the 3/4 mark, I get 4X and 8X windows etc lighting up on my screen. I'm afraid to enable these and was wondering what settings I could get by with to maximize my graphics card.I currently have a Dell 8250 series with a 2.4 processor, 1024 of Rambus PC1066 memory ram, 120 gig HD etc.Any ideas would be appreciated since I know very little about the max settings I could get away with....My other specs are: Intel 850E chip, Bios chip 4 Mb, 250 watt DC power supply. Can anyone help please. Why I press Fly on from the create a flight screen in FS2002 my monitor screen now goes all blurry and tells me that the HV is outside range. Range is 30-70 and actual frequency is 75 Hz - this is for a refresh rate of 60Hz. If I increase the refresh rate on my monitor then the same thing happens but the actual frequency is higher still. It looks as if I need to set the refresh rate less than 60 Hz but there is no option to do this.Is my monitor broken? Many help gratefully appreciated.Running a Athlon 1800+, 512 MB RAM, GeForce2MX400, 17" Gateway EV700 monitor, Windows XP Home edn, and Nvidia 44.33 drivers(latest)

Love the board and am getting exceptional AA and Anisio with sliders extended and also received and added bonus of improved framerates. I did not expect this much improvement over my ti4600 so I am a happy camper but I have a tiny problem or should I say inconvenience. If I make any changes to the board settings they will not be reflected in fs2002 unless I make the changes while fs is running by task switching out of fs and make the changes. Once I return to the game I need to exit because the graphics are messed up but when I run fs again the changes I made to the board will be reflected in fs. If I make any changes to AA or Anisio and then run FS the changes will not b…

Hey All,I recently resurrected my old Sidewinder Force Feedback joystick after using my PFC Jetliner for ages- I got hooked on IL-2 "Forgotten Battles" :-) While the joystick was hibernating, I picked up a nice set of rudder pedals too. I was wondering if I could get my computer to recognize both...Win XP autodetects the Sidewinder but refuses to aknowledge my rudder Pedals! Any help would be really apreciated!-Matt
