Hey all, Well, I had some money burning a hole in my pocket so I made a few purchases. I already have an ASUS A7V333 mobo, 512mb of PC2700DDR and a Hercules Gamesurround II sound card to use from this current machine. I purchased an AMD XP2800+ cpu, another 512mb of PC2700DDR, an ATI 9800 Pro 128mb video card, and an Antec TruePower 480 watt power supply. I think that this new setup will let me run FS2004 pretty well, but I do have a question regarding the 9800 Pro. This is my first ATI video card and I am really dumb when it comes to the drivers put out by ATI, so which ones should I go with for this setup? Hey I have had my 9700 pro for about 2 months(along with my new computer).The only problem I am having there is ant liasing issues on some of the planes and on all of them if I zoom out a little ways. I have my ant liasing(I think I am spelling that correct) set at 6x because that is all my board will support. All other games there is no jaggies. Also I have the Omega drivers. Before I got those drivers I had the same problems. If anyone can give me a fix I would be thankful.Thanks,Jason

Hello all...I just wanted to save all of you elite simmers some grief. I was using a Radeon 9700 Pro for a couple of months now and really loved the PERFECT lines in FS2002 with 8x FSAA and 16X AF turned on. I have an Athlon XP 2700+ processor with a gig of PC3200 ram on an Nforce2 mobo. I run FS with all the sliders maxed and get decent frames most of the time (JFK really taxes things and chokes out the system with the radeon card). So... I purchased an Athlon XP 3200+ Barton processor and a GeForce 5900 Ultra to "help" things out a little. hi all , i am thinking of buying a projector for my microsoft 2002/2004 flight sim , i have a 21 in monitor but would think that a screen say at 4ft x 3 ft would bring the cockpit for a 737 up to more life size,seeing u only get the left half, is anybody out there using one for 2002 and could tell me what they think about one,say one with 800 / 1200 lumens and how does the keystone correction do for the picture , i am thinking of it projecting above and behind me any thoughts on it would be helpful,thanks and regards.:-)

Hi All,The title of my previous post seems unattractive, so here's another try:After replacing my old GF2 MX400 for a Radeon 9600 i notice no performance diff. Also with AA and AF on there's no diff (on all possible settings). I think i may have left some Detonator files. I uninstalled acoording to instructions and also did some manual delete's. I recently upgraded my nVidia gForce drivers to 44.03 as part of my most recent Windows XP Update. Since I have a basic gForce 3 64 MB video card, I had been reluctant to upgrade drivers and had used the 29.83 series with satisfactory results.I was surprised how much faster and better the 44.03 drivers were with my card but unfortunately I can't find a tweak utility to make adjustments to the drivers. I had used RivaTuner in the past but the most recent release does not yet support the 44.03 drivers. I get an error message when I try to access the disp_4.dll file.Does anyone know of any utility that can tweak the 44.03 series?

Does anybody know what my motherboard, the ASUS A7V133-C, can have as the maximum speed of the AMD processors? I mean, what is the maximum speed I can have with this motherboard in the AMD Athlon series? Thanks. Asad.

I have pretty much settled on the new system I want to get, Dell 2.8 GHz with HT / 512 MB or ram, etc however, still one question on the Video Card. I will go with the ATI 9800 but there are the Std and Pro editions.The Pro costs about $140 more then the std.Is it worth it the extra bucks to get the Pro? Does it buy you that much more? Trying to stick to a specific budget so if the Pro is recommended, I might go with 256 MB of Ram instead.I think it is better to have 512MB and the 9800 std but would appreciate any other comments.THANKS!!Mark

Hi all,after thoughtfull considerations i finally bought a Radeon 9600 to replace my rusty Gf2 MX400. Installing it wasn't too hard but after firing up Fs2002 i'm very disappointed. Performance isn't better than before (same settings as before) and the impact of AA and AF settings on the 9600 control panel just isn't visable. Neither in the view, nor in the frames.I installed the catalyst 3.4 drivers (on CD) and DX9, which i upgraded to 9.0a.Is this your typical example of FS being CPU-dependant ? Seems Nvidia has a problem with people that can get there almost weekly driver updates to work better than they can.Makes for some really good reading. Just got a Viewsonic 19" VX900. Great picture in FS2K with the exception of terrain textures. They will start flashing when in flight. Anyone else seen/solved this? I've messed around with Ansio and AA, but not much difference in the flashing.Video is a ATI 9700 Pro Radeon w/ Cat. 3.4 drivers. 1 Gig RAMP4 2.8

By the end of the summer I am going to be upgrading my computer (m/b, RAM and processor) and I had a dual monitor question. I am going to be buying a Asus A7N8X board, 2 sticks of 256MB PC3200 DDR RAM, and an Athlon XP 2700+ or 2800+.The question is related to the video card setup though. I am going to plug a second monitor into the DVI slot on my GeForce 4. I was wondering if it was possible to have different windows open on each monitor. Can I have the main panel on the main monitor, and maybe the FMC and overhead on the other monitor. Or can I have FS opened on the main monitor, and the AOL window open on the other. Hi All,Maybe someone can give me an answer.....I have installed XP Pro (Clean) ever since I have done the install I have had problems with FS 2002 and my S/B Live Platinum. I have a Logitech 4 sat. speakers 1 woofer speaker system. I had no problem with Win ME.Now when I start FS 2002 the system changes the settings from 4 speakers to 2 spearkers. Right now I have a Compaq Deskopt with an Intel Extreme Graphics Card which is not really a good graphics card for the Flight Sim so I'm want to buy a new laptop with a better graphics card.I haven't decided yet on which laptop I want to buy but there are some I'm looking at like the the Alienware Area-51 and the Dell laptops.
